Lindey's is a high-energy, white tablecloth restaurant serving the finest American cuisine in an upper east side New York bistro setting. Nestled in historic German Village, the design incorporates original artwork, bentwood chairs, copper topped bars and hardwood floors. With its exciting and vibrant atmosphere, Lindey's has three main dining rooms, four private party rooms and an award winning outdoor courtyard that has been voted the best patio in Columbus.
Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and Lindey’s was wonderful as usual. Only hiccup was that we wanted to reserve a table on the patio but didn’t find out until we got there that the patio is waitlist only. At first, we weren’t going to be seated until a table for two opened for multiple people on the list, even though there were three tables for four open. But, quickly, decision was made to seat the couples at the open tables and all was super after that. Excellent food, wine, and service in a great setting. Would be ideal if you could reserve patio seats or at least be aware that patio is not available to reserve. Thanks!
The food was absolutely outstanding. The room we were seated in was a little bit loud due to acoustics, but had no music. The service was very slow even though the restaurant was not full.
The food we got was fantastic. My Rib Eye was a little fatty but no complaints. My wife got the salmon and she says it was great. There were no veggies or potatoes that come with the entrees though. It was our anniversary and they comped our desserts.
No parking that I saw since German Village passed the parking law so you probably are forced to use valet like we did.
The place was full and noisy so it was hard to converse at times but the quality of food and service definitely outweighed the noise issue.
our experience was great. because we were late in reserving, we had to eat quite early but it worked out well.
Lindey's was a go-to place to impress someone when I was in college two and a half decades ago, and I'm happy to say that's still the case. During our recent visit to Columbus, I decided to take my family to Lindey's to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and again it did not disappoint. Our server Nathan was friendly, professional and efficient. We were all very happy with our meals and the yummy desserts. This along with the sophisticated, yet unpretentious atmosphere made for yet another memorial dinner and evening at Lindey's. I'm happy to say this is still one of the very best places for a warm and memorial dinner experience.
Service and Ambience were AMAZING!
Celebrating our parents lifetime achievement award by the Columbus Museum of Art. Everything was lovely! We’ve been eating here for over 35 years and it’s as good as ever! We feel like we’re at home! Service and Food are both excellent! Special thanks to Mike and our server for making our celebration memorable-This is Columbus at its best!
Great experience as always. Noisy but you can’t have everything
I made a reservation thru OpenTable and upon arriving at the restaurant found out they did not have a reservation for me. This made it hard to get a table.
Mt wife and I have been coming to Lindey's since they first opened. Over the years Lindey's has been consistently outstanding in every aspect of their business. We've never gone away disappointed.
Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday and had a great experience at both the bar for happy
Dinner after the theater on Sunday. Great service and food. Relaxing atmosphere
Amazing food and service. Would definitely return for any special occasion!
The energy level and attention to detail continues to be impressive.
Chose Lindey’s from recommendations on Open Table. We were in Columbus for an event our son was involved in. We were seated immediately. Service was initially slow but improved. Server very pleasant. Food was phenomenal! Beautiful restaurant!
Celebrated a birthday with a party of 6 adults. Initially were seated next to the kitchen but politely requested a different table as one person is hard of hearing. request was granted and very appreciated.
Two top in front of an entryway to another room. Server was unenthusiastic and not especially attentive. Ordered a pear cocktail only to learn that the ingredients were unavailable but the bartender would come up with a close approximation. First time there since 1998. Haven’t missed much in 21 years.
Made reservation for a birthday a week before hand for a party of 7 at 745pm. Unfortunately, when we arrive on time we are told that we have to wait, we then proceed to wait at the bar for THIRTY MINUTES before we are told our table is ready. What was the point of making the reservation? Besides that the food was amazing, the table-service was amazing, overall everything was pretty amazing. 9/10 would definitely recommend to friends.
Our party of five visited before the ballet on Friday evening. We were seated immediately although we had a reservation. Service was excellent. Rated 4 stars because
She left us quite awhile waiting for our bill. Fabulous wine and drinks. Pasta, salad and soup were perfection.
We made reservations here based on comments and reviews. This was a anniversary dinner, and our first time at this restaurant. So, we go there a little early to grab drinks for happy hour. Literally no place to sit, or stand in the bar area. Just very small space. So we went ahead and got seated at our reserved table, only to discover that we could not order happy hour drinks from our table. We were told we could order from the bar. I went to the bar to order a drink for myself and my hubby, only to be told, they would not serve two drinks at once to a single individual. So, my hubby had to go up to order drinks at the bar. The set-up is a bit awkward. Either create more space, or allow people to order happy hour drinks from table. What's the big deal with that anyway? We were kinda crammed into a small table on the corner, with servers whizzing by and it was not conducive to a romantic anniversary setting at all. We do have to say that the food was very good. But, because of the other issues, I am not giving this a 4-5 star rating.
Had a great evening celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious, and the gluten-free options were great. Able to customize the gluten-free plate with the other sides they offered without an uncharge. Impressed with the service and amicable ambience.
Lindey’s never disappoints. From our drinks to dessert, everything was so good! Always a favorite.
Family came in from out of town and we wanted to go to a nice place with a low noise level so we could talk. I asked for a quiet table when I made the reservation at Lindey’s, and they seated us at the perfect table - slightly tucked away and behind a small partition. Our server was in training; he seemed a little nervous but he did a wonderful job.
We went here for a special occasion earlier this week, but I can see Lindey's very quickly becoming part of our routine! Great atmosphere. Looking forward to hanging out on the patio once it's a little warmer.
Patio was great
This was our first visit for our second wedding anniversary. When we left, I told my husband that Lindeys is my new favorite restaurant in all of Columbus! The patio is simply lovely and perfect in the evening for a romantic dinner. Everything from the drinks to the dessert was absolutely delicious. I'll be dreaming about the potatoes and the chocolate brownie for months at least. Also very reasonably priced for the quality of everything. We will definitely be back!
Terrific service, excellent food. I have been here half a dozen times, and both food and service have always been outstanding. Great bar, too, if you just want to sit in comfort one evening and have a drink.
Food was good, ambiance was lovely. Service could've been better though. They made my friend and I feel like we didn't belong and took forever returning to our table to check on us. Definitely felt insulted for our first visit.
We enjoyed dining outside on the first evening the patio opened for the season. Wonderful food - the steak and seafood entrees were excellent and the salad, soup and sides were delectable. The service was attentive yet not overbearing.
Clear as day why this is a Columbus institution--the food and ambiance are incredible. Our server may have taken our initial request for "a little more time" when picking drinks too seriously, but we were able to get our meal in a timely manner. Would absolutely go back and recommend to friends! Book in advance, the place was packed.
EXCELLENT! WHEN IN COLUMBUS WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN
Fish totally over cooked and Cajun pasta was tasteless. Appetizers were good.
It’s a very nice place. Very loud. After being seated we were forgotten about instantly, even though the place a Buzzing with staff. After the reminder we had been seated Service was excellent and they made up for the oversight. Wiping this oversight out of my mind, the food was not extraordinary and the loud environment was overwhelming. Tables were very close together with a bump of my chair by each server, even after inching the whole table 12”. With this being said, Lindey’s seemed to be a very important part of the community. A place I would enjoy stopping in for a drink. Speaking of Drinks, the Bar Service was impeccable! Much like what I was expecting when I made our reservation.
Nice atmosphere. My choose meal was sold out and I was notified about 15 minutes after placing the order. Dessert made up for the dissapoi ntment. Bananas Foster was outstanding! Will be back.
We were in from out of town and had read about Lindey's online. It was as good as the reviews. I had the spicy shrimp pasta and my husband had the special: pan-seared walleye. Both were excellent. We even ordered the bananas foster, too! It was excellent and our waitress was fabulous. We will be back when we visit again.
New servers had a hard time. Food was good but I guess I was expecting better from such a well known restaurant
Lively, energetic atmosphere! Great place to eat on a Friday or Saturday night...chefs have their A game!
Service was good, food was better!
Amazing food, I had the Harvest Chicken Salad.
The food was delicious. I had the pappardelle. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the duck was kind of dry but still tasty. The reason why I gave this place a 4 instead of a 5 is because the waiter wasn’t the greatest. One, he didn’t ask us if we’re celebrating anything special, two, he only asked us once how everything was, and three, he didn’t seem to really care about our table (aka never asked if we needed anything else throughout the course of meals). Other than that, I enjoyed everything. Probably won’t come here often but I do recommend to try to anyone who hasn’t been here.
