Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant
Built with the intention of being a comfortable meeting spot for locals looking to share stories at the end of their long day, Lincoln draws inspiration from it’s surrounding, hard-working, and uniquely American neighborhood.
Revitalizing a nearly forgotten West Broadway space that at one time housed the area’s only department store, Lincoln feels nostalgic. It’s open-air, tiled-floor cafe, grande bar, and soaring, original tin ceilings remind us of a time when dining halls and supper clubs were a way of life.
Georges Bank, jalapeo mashed red bliss potatoes, fried green beans, creamed corn, crumbled bacon
sushi rice, avocado, wakame, cucumber, edamame, sesame, pickled ginger, cabbage, mango, miso dressing
Baked Goat Cheese Dip
house made fig jam, toasted almonds, sourdough
Food was amazing! Drinks as well
Service was rushed
A super busy spot for weekend brunch. REALLY loud. Definitely need a reservation for the weekend. The service was slow but the food that we ordered was very good. The inside of the restaurant is interesting. Parking is a challenge.
Very nice waitress, excellent food and drinks!
Food is amazing &a waitress was amazing !
Dinner at 7- extremely loud, was seated in the back where rope blocked us off from the bar crown which was nice but w tables close together and then the bar crowd mad very very hard to hear anything you had to shout. Suggest noise reducer on ceiling or collapsible partition to put up during dining hours to separate from bar area/ noise.
I've been a frequent visit since opening
Lincoln was a great spot to brunch with friends in South Boston! Ambiance inside is very cool, and food was good! Blueberry Bundt treat was served as an appetizer at the beginning of our meal - yuuummy. Only downsides: the juices given with our bucket of bubbles were in tiny containers and the waitress forgot to deliver one of our coffees for half the meal. Otherwise, would come back!
Poutine was great!
Love this place
We enjoy brunch test kitchen, which we can only get if we happen to be off on a Friday. This was a good one. We had the brisket benedict and the peanut butter chocolate donuts. The flavors and textures were just what we needed.
Great brunch at the Lincoln - our server was so personable and attentive. Food and beves were delivered quickly.
Our meals were fantastic- delicious ++
We are already planning our next visit!
So my visit to Lincoln Tavern was fine but frankly, the noise level was extreme. The food was great and well prepared and creative for sure, but as the crowd was somewhat younger than us and as there is so much space dedicated to the “Bar Crowd” it is very difficult to sit and dine. If the restaurant were separate from the bar I would give it high marks, but the noise level isn’t just above average it is obnoxious. Thank you and best wishes.
Very truly yours,
Got there a bit early and they accommodated us very quickly. Place was a buzz and definitely louder than a typical dinner venue. Not a place for a quite conversation. This did not deter us from our evening as the food was great.
We went out for dinner and the food and service is always spectacular. It is very loud and hard to communicate while sitting and eating if with a larger party. It’s a great place to eat and grab some food before a night out or brunch. My fiancé and I come here all the time for brunch and always look forward to Friday brunch test kitchen when we can go. I’d recommend this place to all!
The food was great, the server took a long time to check in on our table but was friendly. Super loud.
Great food, great service, the bottle of champagne with your choice of juice was perfect.
9pm Friday night and already a frat party inside. So loud I couldn’t carry a conversation. It was too late and freezing outside otherwise I would’ve left. Unfortunate situation because the food was decent-I had the ribeye. Not sure when’s a good time to go to enjoy a dinner but 9pm on Friday is a no go.
The inside is really nice. We went to brunch on a Friday, where they do a ‘test kitchen’ brunch. So, they have a section on their menu where they have items they don’t normally offer. Supposedly this is where they ‘test’ items but from my searching - dishes here are heavily rotated. Problem #1 - they don’t tell you anywhere the mystery ‘test’ menu is the ONLY menu you can order from. Problem #2 they don’t post the test kitchen menu anywhere, even though they obviously know what it’s going to be well in advance (they have nicely printed menus and such). So, you can’t know if the test menu is going to work for you or not until you go out of your way to go there. I have a dairy allergy, but wasn’t worried and just figured that I would order off the regular brunch menu if the test items didn’t work for me. I literally could not eat a single thing on the test kitchen menu, and also it was all...awful. My boyfriend took one look at the offerings and said “not even one of these sounds appealing.” You had three choices seafood (for brunch?!), salad (again...for brunch?!) and overly sticky sweet dessert level entrees. One of their ‘entrees’ was literally chocolate covered strawberries. Almost the entire menu was chocolate/whipped cream/strawberries etc. Anything of typical breakfast/brunch fare was nowhere to be found. The only menus they offered outside of the test kitchen were pizzas and weird apps. If you’re going to offer brunch could you at least offer something that looked remotely like brunch? I tried to explain to the server I had a dairy allergy and literally not a single item on their menu worked (also, not a single item that could be made vegan easily?) They cut me off and said they could make me some fried eggs if I wanted. At that point we just left. We were on a tight time schedule due to travel and didn’t feel like dealing with this pretentious place. It’s really simple. Post the menu and warn people that’s the only menu. Would have saved us a lot of time.
The food and service was great! They had a nice selection of brunch options. My only complaint was the noise level; I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking to have a casual conversation with friends.
Always a great time!!
Very reasonable price for how good of quality the food is. Be sure to book a reservation, heard it was a 40 minute wait
Amazing food and great time!
Food is excellent, service was great. Very loud!
Great food - worth the trip out of Downtown.
Overall, brunch was good. They accommodated us adding people to our party, and were relatively attentive.
Food was very good and reasonably priced. Very loud and crowded. OK service.
We have tried a couple times in the past to get into Sunday Brunch but the wait was too long. We were able to get seated on a recent Wednesday night and were pleasantly surprised with everything. Food was great, service also. Had oysters, which tasted very fresh. All three of our meals ranging from seafood to steak to chicken were all prepared wonderfully and the side dishes were equally good.
My son is a student at UMass Boston and the Lincoln Tavern is so convenient to campus. We will be back....often!
Extremely noisy. Don't go if you're interested in having a conversation.
everything here is outstanding: white pizza, wings, and goat cheese dip are my go to’s but also recommend any salad, scallops entree, short rib, burger, brunch sandwiches etc etc. can’t go wrong with anything here!
This was my first time visiting Lincoln Tavern for dinner. Overall it was a god experience, but I was disappointed that I ordered a pizza with kale on it and they substituted the kale for spring greens that they threw on top. I just thought someone should have mentioned that I was getting a different pizza from what I ordered. However, I tried my husband's steak sandwich and it was amazing, as was the truffle mac n' cheese!
Great food and interesting menu. Delicious food. Very, very loud in a Sat night with college b-ball on.
Music was so loud we had to scream to hear each other. Food was mediocre. Won’t be going back.
Food was good but our table was close enough to the bar which was causing a large amount of noise. Some of the employees working there didn’t seem to worried about people dining as I noticed catching up with friends who were grabbing a drink at the bar. Would be fine during a non busy time, but wouldn’t go back for a relaxing meal.
Tried the test kitchen brunch. It was delicious! Everything we had was amazing. I like that you can make a reservation for brunch. And they actually took us a few minutes early.
The ambiance is fun. And the restaurant is large. Not too crowded. Overall just a fun time!
The place got slammed with business and that's when service slipped. We waited over 20 minutes after ordering lunch before we flagged the server to check. We then saw 2 of our 3 meals get delivered to another table. When those people rejected the meals, we flagged the server. When we g Nally got our 3rd meal, grilled cheese sandwich, it was not grilled ( cheese was completely unmelted). Manager comped us some fabulous fries and was super nice ...
We will return, but not on Friday for lunch!
The waitress ended our meal with a birthday Sunday (as I had indicated in the reservation it was my moms birthday). Thanks, Lincoln!
Everyone is so amazing!
AMAZING! food was awesome
Fun event decorating gingerbread houses!
