Great place for any meal. Brunch is especially amazing! Fun environment. Always people inside. Definitely a good spot to grab a drink and/or grab a bite!
The food wast great. I ordered a BBQ pizza and thought it was delicious. The staff was friendly and our server was attentive. If it wasn’t for the noise level I’d come back for the food.
I guess I’m getting old. The noise level was insane and the seating was cramped. I’ll admit, I went there for my 40th birthday. Maybe it’s my fault for not realizing the place is geared towards a younger crowd. I thought I was going to a restaurant with a popular bar NOT a loud bar with good food. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years as a server & bartender and my ears actually hurt. We couldn’t hear our own server and and it was impossible to carry on a conversation wirh the seven of us that were intimately seated (stuffed) in a booth.
If you’re going for good food try the place on a less busy weekday. If I lived on that side of the river that’d be my plan.
Lincoln continues to amaze me with its food. This is not your typical neighborhood bar. The ribeye meal is outstanding. When the ribeye was sold out on one occasion, I had the salmon, which was also out of this world.
If you make your reservation through OpenTable and indicate that it's a special occasion, they will bring a desert out without you having to try to ask them discreetly.
Wish this place were closer to me! I would go more often other than just for special occasions.
When I make reservations they usually place us out back, where the ambiance is a little less cozy (they are small stand-alone tables versus the booths up front), but the service is just as good. One thing I will say, they did a nice job with the acoustics. Even when the place is packed, they made the booth-walls tall enough, and something else acoustically that helps so that you can still hear the people you are with.
I love Lincoln’s food and will always come back knowing I’ll never be disappointed . The atmosphere is great if you aren’t looking for something romantic, as it is quite noisy.
first time. cool atmosphere. menu is okay... too much cheese in most of the offerings. oysters were very good. waitress was pleasant, although service was rather slow during an avg lunch time crowd. fries were delivered well after meal.
The food and atmosphere at Lincoln are great. There are endless brunch options. This restaurant is a must for brunch!
I’ve been here a couple of times and the food is always excellent and the service is even better.
Everything I ate was delicious, and made even better by the great service. My server Gina was so personable and gave great recommendations. Short ribs are a must!
Lincoln Tavern has an interesting vibe of 1/2 loud, cramped bar scene and 1/2 trendy restaurant. Unfortunately, the food isn't particularly good and the drinks are absolutely terrible.
This place can be fine if you get a reservation and order exclusively beer or wine. Be prepared to have to yell at each other to hold a conversation.
The cocktails are syrupy sweet, uninspired, and likely made with non-fresh ingredients. The food is overly salted but is otherwise fine. Avoid pizza unless you own the salt mine this place orders from wholesale.
It's all a bit disappointing because the atmosphere is pretty cool.
Great space. Delicious food. Our service was awesome - thanks Caitlin! We loved this place. I would definitely go back to this place... and probably will!
Lincoln Ian a favorite of mine. I come often. I recommend the sliders, the wings, and the truffle mac and cheese for appetizers. The pizza is wood fired and delicious. For entres I like the Lincoln Burger and the kale salad with salmon. Enjoy!
Great food! Pizza was awesome. Everyone enjoyed what was ordered. First time in a while that all the people we were dining with actually loved their meal.
Noise level way too loud and took over 45 minutes to get food.
Always have good food there. Service was a little slow the night I️ went.
Went for ramen and it was delicious!
Love this place. Fun, vibrant atmosphere. The sliders with the quail egg are amazing!! Big booths that hold 6 people. It's loud.
My wife and I met another 50+ couple for 6 pm Sat. night dinner. The place was filled (although it emptied a bit by 7 pm). We had reservations and got a table for 4 by the front when I asked for it - a great spot since the entire front was open to the sidewalk on a very pleasant October day. Our waitress was very friendly and good. The chef actually came out to talk to me when I had a question about food ingredients and allergies - he was right on top of things and very friendly. All of the dishes we had were really excellent. The scallops were sweet, the burger was flavorful and juicy and salmon great too! As was the fresh bread. The onion soup was certainly good - but I had been led to believe that it would be superb, given what I had heard about how they prepare the onions. I couldn't tell (at least in the soup) a big difference. The main drawback, for me, of the restaurant would be the noise level at times. When we first got there it was so noisy that I could barely hear the person opposite me at our small 4 person round table (despite almost shouting). Being by the open front of the restaurant helped keep the noise down a bit, and once it got less crowded it was no longer an issue. Overall I was really impressed with the food and the staff, and if I could be assured of going at a less noisy time I would definitely enjoy going back.
My family went to Lincoln Tavern to celebrate my daughter's birthday, my other daughter's new job and my son's new apartment. The place was incredibly loud to the point where it was tough to hear the person across the table. My daughter ordered a pizza which came out with jalepeno peppers on it after she specifically requested not peppers causing her to send it back and get a new pizza after everyone had finished their meal. My other daughter ordered a salad with shrimp and the salad showed up without any shrimp. Overall not a great experience and doubtful that I will return for a future meal
Really weird/bad experience. Seemed disrganized.
They brought the wrong food. They brought the appetizer after the entree. Mgr came apologized (on his own) said no charge for the late appetizer--- was charged for it anyway. Didn't have the energy to track him back down and didn't want to make a big deal about it in front of my companion.
Food was ok. Good value. Definitely a trendy place, but, I would be careful...
I went to Lincoln Tavern because I had friends who raved about its brunch and how it was the hippest young place in Southie. I had a bunch of friends from college in town (party of 9), made the reservation a week in advance, and arrived on time. We were missing 2 from our party of 9 and weren't seated until they arrived (30 minutes after reservation) and the table we were placed at was actually 2 circular tables pushed together so we had some people (who hadn't seen each other in months or years) with their backs to each other. This was a rude thing to do for a group who had reserved well in advance, and there were large booths we could have been seated at, which was also frustrating. The food took almost an hour and a half to get to us, and we had our waitress checking in a half hour and a full hour after ordering our meals to let us know they had run out of certain dishes (unacceptable). We were charged for 2 additional drinks we didn't order, and we were seated next to a table of belligerently drunk young men using the "c" word and "b" word talking about their waitress. All in all, it was awful, and overpriced. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Wish the service was better, this was my third time at Lincoln and probably my least favorite experience. We had to ask for blueberry bread, didn't even get enough pieces for our entire table, and the drinks were poorly made. Several tables got served food, ate and left, before ours was even ready. Unfortunately I was taking family there to show them how great of a place Lincoln is. I'm happy the food was good.
fun place with interesting choices and nice beer selection.
sangria was super too
The food and location were good but I would recommend asking for a booth if making a reservation as the tables in back are very tight and you are in conversation with the tables on each side of you
Amazing ! Great atmosphere
Great carbo loading food! It was the place to be for fun people on the weekend
The food was good . Restaurant extremely noisy and tables for two too close together. Wait staff kept walking between tables and bumping into me. And the bus boy cleared dirty dishes and also walked between tables while people were eating. Yuck. Server took a while to bring me ice for my water and to come check on us.
Delicious food! And they brought out a delicious dessert for my birthday. Thank you!
We had a lovely time. Food was great and so was the atmosphere!
Love the variety of food to choose from on the brunch test kitchen menu! Always something different to choose from
Food was top notch - the crowd is on the young side and the acoustics were loud, but as long as you know that going in, you'll love it. So many items on the menu were absolutely delicious!
The arugula salad was the best. So were the pizzas! Had a beer rimmed with cinnamon sugar to get ready for the fall.
Great Tuesday night catching up with my college friends!
Service was excellent. Food was great too. The restraunt has a nice vibe with a lot of menu choices. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought a dessert at the end of the meal with a candle.
Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant is a real gem. This was our second visit. Each time, the menu has been slightly different, which is always fun. Our group of three shared everything - from the Baked Goat Cheese Dip (delicious and interesting - loved the fig), to the White Pizza (may just be my new favorite pizza ever with four cheeses, thinly-sliced apples and a drizzle of honey), to a Fried Chicken Sandwich (perhaps nothing unexpected in this one, but very good) and Peaches & Cream Pancakes (also great). In fact, we loved our meal so much that my daughter and I went back a few days later. That was a brunch day and we shared a White Pizza, and also got the S'mores Pancakes (wow) and the Chocolate Waffle (I'm not a waffle person and even I had to admit it was really good). Needless to say, she had leftovers to take back to her college dorm. We also love that on Fridays they have a test menu where there are several brand new items they are trying out. Prices are very reasonable, too. Wish I lived here to enjoy it more often. Lucky her that she can. Note: We could not get a reservation on Open Table for Saturday brunch at any time. It was fully booked. So I called the restaurant and asked about getting seated without a reservation. They said if we came in before 10:30 a.m., it shouldn't be a problem. And it wasn't. We were seated quickly. As the place makes a name for us, I'm not sure that will continue, but I hope so.
excellent all around. the only drawback is the noise level. But I'm not very young. The young crowd seemed very happy with the noise and shouting...
They have brunch everyday. Every. Day. Nuff said.
Lincoln is such a great place. On the outside, it looks like it could be a hipster joint with mediocre food because it is so huge and the bar scene is so epic. However the food is excellent. My wife is super picky about fish, basically never liking fish unless it's served by a seafood-only chef. Yet she loved her salmon as it was not overcooked, like so many non fish restaurants would do. Our friend's scallops were also perfect. My short ribs were so full of flavor and the portions are all very good - with prices about 25-30% less than you'd pay in the Back Bay or South End.
The craft cocktail menu is also very good and at about $11, they are also about 30-40% less than a comparable place in the Back Bay or South End.
The only negative is that there is ZERO parking in that area of Southie, so you really need to Uber or Lyft there.
Food and atmosphere great. The service was lack luster
Top 5 burger in Boston. Great place. Hopping bar. 5/5.
Ashley was our server and probably one of the worst service experiences I've had. I had been a waitress for three years so I know how it works. She never checked on us or our food or drinks, never gave us new plates or cleared the table. Could see her chit chatting with out her waitresses while customers were all trying to get servers attention. It just really sucked since we love going here, the food is great and the atmosphere is fun but the service can ruin all of that. This was our second time with horrible service here.
