Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant
Built with the intention of being a comfortable meeting spot for locals looking to share stories at the end of their long day, Lincoln draws inspiration from it’s surrounding, hard-working, and uniquely American neighborhood.
Revitalizing a nearly forgotten West Broadway space that at one time housed the area’s only department store, Lincoln feels nostalgic. It’s open-air, tiled-floor cafe, grande bar, and soaring, original tin ceilings remind us of a time when dining halls and supper clubs were a way of life.

Everything we ordered was delicious from the calamari to the scallops! The peach pie was soooo tasty! It’s just WAY TOO LOUD!! You have to scream to talk to the person next to you. And really scream to talk to the person across the table. I loved the music but it could be dialed down a bit!
I was very impressed by Lincoln Tavern's attention to food allergies. They were specific and careful and made sure to flag things for me. My only complaint was the noise level in the restaurant - we were seated at a small table for two and could hardly hear each other. Overall, great brunch spot!
Wicked busy local crowd down in Southie on a Friday. Lincoln was busy as can be very energetic crowds amazing food great service with a fun vibe! Always nice coming down to the area! Pizzas were amazing love love the wood fire oven amazing oysters too! Excited for the ice cream made in house.
Cool vibe. Very loud. Not good for a romantic date night. Good for friends and a lively dinner. Tasty food!
My go to spot, it’s the best
Great food, great service! Perfect for casual dining or a special celebration.
I would love to give this restaurant five stars but it was so noisy that our party of four (mom, dad and teenage kids) couldn’t even hear each other across our booth. The food was great - apps, pizza, salads and entrees - and the service was good, but I won’t be going back unfortunately.
Terrible experience. Entrees came out with appetizers. Was cold by the time we ate. Manager did nothing but say sorry. Unacceptable. Live in the neighborhood but won’t be back.
Come for great food and drinks, super fun spot on weekend nights, but prepare for terrible service especially once the music turns up.
Great foodie restaurant, great cocktails, great service. Loved every aspect of it except perhaps the noise-very loud. But wecgo for the food and drinks, and everything was outstanding. Drink standout was the Dracary, esp w its spicy bite from a chile bitter. Dinner was the Kumg Pau Brussel Sprouts, Braised short ribs on truffle mac n cheese, and Miso Salmon plank grilled over shaved cucumbers and steamed Bok Choy. All outstanding. We are from SoCal, and this place could thrive among the best So Cal has to offer. Kudos. Next time back in Boston this is the first place we’ll call to make reservations.
Great food but not a good choice if you want to be able to hear the person across from you
It’s good every time. Best burger in the city
Yum, Yum, Yum!
This was my first time at Lincoln Tavern, and I was very excited by the tasty menu options that included a good balance of sweet, savory, and unique dishes! I chose the S'mores Pancakes, which fulfilled every child-like expectation that I had, including being super sweet and substantial. I couldn't eat the entire thing, but they were so good that I wish I could've! My boyfriend ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which was a perfectly salty contrast to my dish. It seemed a bit small portion-wise in comparison, but was actually the perfect amount of food and very well seasoned! Our friends ordered the steak burrito and the egg BLT -- both of which were decently sized portions, and they really enjoyed. Three of us of our group of 4 shared the Mionetto Prosecco (750mL) Bucket of Bubbles at a pretty reasonable price of $32; the only thing I think could be improved upon is receiving more of the 3 different juices with the bucket, but this was a very small issue. In regards to atmosphere: it's a larger restaurant than I expected with decent bar space and a lot of seating; only a moderate noise level (could easily hear the others in our group) even though each seat in the house was pretty much full. I'll definitely be back. Next time, I am hoping to try the Friday Brunch Test Kitchen Menu!
Love brunch at Lincoln every time I visit! Food was amazing.
Had reservations, arrived on time, they only had a tiny table up front for our party of 5. So incredibly loud in there was tough to make conversation, apparently becomes a hot spot at 10pm ( aka meat market for singles) expected more based on prior reviews . Food and drink were decent , service okay. They never registered our arrival on open table so got an email chiding me for being a no show.
The food was very good and the service fine. I wouldn't come here to catch up with an old friend because you won't be able to hear each other. The noise level is really oppressive. I see this place as a trendy, millennial hang-out. It's too bad because they could easily turn the space in the rear into a quieter dining room for us older folks.
Met a friend for dinner and we ordered the muscles which were fantastic. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful experience!
Service & food were both amazing, always love this place! Pizzas are always good, and their breakfast/brunch items are great as well!
Met a friend here for dinner. The Kung Lao Brussels sprout appetizer was terrific. Entrees were very good- lots to choose from. It was a little loud, but the hostess sat us by the windows that opened onto the street so that helped. Would definitely go back- good value and great service.
I went to Lincoln Tavern with a friend for brunch, and while the atmosphere and actual space was great, we didn't love the food. We'd heard great things about their brunch options and while they had a variety of different breakfast and lunch options, we weren't that impressed by what we ordered. However, we'll definitely come back at night because it seems like a great bar with a large selection of drinks. All in all, we wouldn't necessarily recommend Lincoln for brunch but if I'm sure it's great for dinner and drinks after.
Got dripped on by the air conditioning throughout dinner
It was real good. I got the jambalaya. And we had a donut. Good mixed drink options. The lighting was good and there was enough space for people.
They could not find my open table reservation. I had to show my email confirmation
Lincoln hands down has a best food in Southie.
Got the scallops- they were awesome!!! Food is great. Later on Thursday evening it gets a little loud/more of a bar scene. We were seated in the front so it was a little hard to hear our friends during dinner. Sitting in the back by the booths would have been better!
Too loud for us!!!
They need some sound baffling
When the person next to has to lean over and then scream while your having a dinner conversation I have to say that there is a problem.
The avocado tartare and the bar steak with street corn are amazing additions to the menu.
Food was good but portions small. Very loud. Young bar crowd.
My family and I had an enjoyable dining experience here and will definitely return.
Food was good and service was very good.
Service was excellent. Waitress went out of her way to make it a nice dinner for us. Scallop dish was delicious and hamburger was also very good. Good, but not wonderful we’re the special .... fish tacos. People said the hake and relish were tasty, but a little disappointed that it was fried.... maybe a little too much batter. We were there around 6. Lucky to find parking across the street. Being early on a Saturday evening, it was not too crowded. Would definitely recommend.
The food suggested by the waitress had runny egg so she probably should’ve included this info in her recommendation because I wouldn’t have gotten it otherwise
The food was fantastic. We tried both the Scallops and the Short Ribs and they were both fabulous.
Our party has the coconut shrimp salad. The shrimp were tiny, but the salad had nice flavors. Another person got the pork chop which was phenominal and the third person in our party ordered the meatball pizza and was very pleased.
Great brunch! Totally unique food! And great spot with lots of cool spaces and a beautiful outdoor view!
AMAZING food. I preferred their dinner to their Brunch, but all of their food is great. I’ve had hit or miss experiences with the service, but the food makes it worth it. I don’t recommend coming too late for dinner unless you are planning to stay out drinking after. The noise is so crazy you can’t hear anyone.
Food was delicious and although it took us a while to be seated, the service once we were was great. Table by the open window is the best
The food was incredible but the service was only okay
I’m not from Boston, but I go to Lincoln for dinner every time I come to Boston bc the food is amazing and fresh. It’s all delicious! I highly recommend this American Food. The owners also own a couple other restaurants in the area that I cannot wait to try when I go back.
Lincoln is my favorite spot to bring visitors from out of town any time of day! stopped by twice this weekend and both times everyone was impressed!
Get the Burger!!
