New York City has a Steakhouse on the Upper West Side able to give a fine dining experience with a fantastic wine like with attentive service
Great staff, great service, and great food! I will definitely return.
Food was outstanding. We had the Tomahawk steak - perfectly done, taste was absolutely out of this world. Live jazz trio at the bar which was fantastic. The only thing that would help this place out is to draw some of the crowd away from the neighbohood place next door. Tone down the lights in the bar area and replace the tables in the window with lounge essentials (velvet / plush / tufted couches, chairs and low tables to allow for more intimate conversation) making it a great place to meet up for drinks and perhaps stay for dinner. Maybe swing by for an after dinner drink and watch the band. Ditch the red wall paint and opt for darker tones to give the place more of a speakeasy vibe. The food is the main ingredient for any great established, but the ambiance needs some work to make it a true nieghborhood gem.
Lincoln Square Steak is not only a steak place, but also a fish place, and whatever you might want. It is generally a low noise level place (hard to find these days), service is quick, the food good and well presented, and prices reasonable. What more to ask/
I never write reviews but this time I will. We were really disappointed over our last visit. We always go there for all of our specail occasions. Potato pure felt like it was out of a box. Other vegetables were not good either. Steak was great though. !! At the end the manager said we wanted to order you a desert but I am not sure which one you would like. I am gonne give you the menu to chose one and I will take care of it. At the end they charged it. We didn't ask for a desert ourselves. We won't go back. Miss how they were taking your photo at the end.
Unusually disorganized service for LSS. The dining room was not very busy but it took 15 minutes from ordering a glass of wine before it was received. Server was uncertain about items on the menu. Server had all meals mixed up, offering the incorrect meal to the diners. One of the individuals asked for the blue cheese and dressing to be left on the side. When the salad arrived, the cheese was on top. Server was reminded of the request, so he took 2 of the forks at the table and scooped the cheese off rather than take the salad back to the kitchen. Another individual kept having the servers hit the chair she was sitting in as they passed by. There were several other mishaps all leading to the conclusion that the service was not good. Will probably not return.
Food was very good
Love the fact that the dining room was quiet
Service was good, had to ask twice for lemons
Would go again and would recommend it to friends
We enjoyed our dining experience. Cocktails were well made and our dinner salads were delicious. Unfortunately we lost track of time and our schedule forced us to rush through our meal. Would not hesitate to return next time we are in the area.
The piano music in the Bar made a delicious meal even more special.
My favourite steak restaurant on the Upper West Side. Service and quality of food excellent and ambiance perfect with tables well spaced out.
We were absolutely delighted to find a great steak restaurant in the neighborhood. Better than the traditional NYC venues, live music, super friendly and amazing food.
Very smart and attentive staff. Good recommendations for wine. Excellent food . We are recommending Lincoln Square Steakhouse to friends.
My experience at Lincoln Square Steak was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The ambience was great and the food was very delicious. I love how lovely, and attentive andres (the waiter) was. Such a great experience.
Always dependable neighborhood favorite. We always enjoy our meals here.
We chose from the pre theatre menu . We enjoyed four courses and the food was plentiful and fabulous.
Service was spotty to lacking. Steak ordered medium rare came medium well. Servers didn’t keep track of who ordered what and had to keep asking as they passed out every course! More like a diner than an upscale steakhouse! We were not made to feel special at all, even though we had a table of 7 and ordered multiple bottles of champagne and wine and three courses each and had a celebrity at our table. I wouldn’t go back. Oy. Too bad. I hosted the table so it looked bad on my part.
LSS is very delicious, excellent wines by the glass, brussell sprouts that are carmelized, crispy, sweet, tangy, and with bits of bacon that add so much to the flavor. My NY Strip was a little tough, and my date had to send his back as it was undercooked. Came back perfectly cooked, yet way too tough for the price. The parmesan fries are delicious. Very relaxed atmosphere as you are not on top of other diners, and the live piano band is so great. I will go back.
The prix fixe dinner (before 7) is a deal that can't be beat. Appetizer, entrée, side, and dessert for $45 (and one $5 glass of wine) is amazing given the quality of the food, the ambiance of the restaurant, and happy competence of the waiters. Amazing.
The waitstaff was great but the food was just ok. We had a 3.5 lbs lobster broiled and a 24 oz tomahawk steak with sides of mushrooms and brussel sprouts. The steak and lobster we both “eh” but the sides were very tasty. Also, there whiskey and bourbon selection was lacking. When you get some of the most expensive things on (or off) the menu they should be spectacular and I assure you We were not impressed.
Excellent food and service. Price Fixe Menu is a great value. Great dinner before a show at The Beacon Theater.
Great experience in fine dining. Great food drink and service
We will be back on!!!
A terrific jazz trio, good food, good service, beautiful decor, made a great dining experience. The space is partitioned into rooms keeping the noise level to a minimum. We could listen to the music while still hearing the conversation.
First time there. Will definitely be back.
Outstanding service, food, wine value
The experience was first-rate from arrival to departure. The service was welcoming and professional and the food was delicious. All-in-all, a very enjoyable evening!
Nice for a no-frills quick dinner
Friendly environment good food
Was very impressed as this was our first visit. Excellent price fixe menu, well worth it! The only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars is because I ordered my filet medium and it was medium well. I didn’t complain because we were going to a show and didn’t want to wait.
Steak went back twice because it wasn’t rare enough
Excellent food - had the prix fixe and everything was delish. Friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended.
Nice quiet place where conversation is actually possible. Excellent food. I'm not a big steak fan, but I really liked the grass-fed filet. Brussel sprouts also outstanding. Not cheap, but a fair deal, especially for special occaions.
Try the theatre prixe fixe. It's a great value with amazing portions.
The beet salad was not great. It seemed to have skin and very rough root, that maybe I should have cutoff before eating. The potatoes had rosemary. That is just personal preference, since I do not like rosemary. My friend's steak was almost all fat. He said there was very little meat that he could eat.
The people working there were friendly, but service was lacking. The sides came with no serving spoons. I was not having an entree, only sides, but they did not give me a plate. And they did not come back for a long time to ask for spoons and a plate.
The table next to us was very loud guys. They were using profanity every other word, which seemed to make the older couples around them uncomfortable. I know it's awkward, but if you are the manager, you need to ask them to keep it down. Or offer to buy them a drink to move them to the bar.
Overall, very disappointing. We had high hopes. It's close to where we live, and the reviews were very good. But I don't think we will be back.
This was my first visit. The visit was excellent and I will return to try another selection of steak. Note: If you like your steak with a warm/red center, ask for rare.
Went for Valentine’s, food was A1. The service was exceptional and the wait was manageable.
It was Valentine’s Day busy but we have to wave waiters to every single thing
Price is not equal to quality ... if you have to pay 58 dollars for 2 lamb chops is redicioulous but that's my opinion .. the steaks were good but maybe you guys can offer a sause with to dip in the meat .. any kind of sause mushroom..blue cheese...truffle whatever .. and in my opinion is a tenderloin same as filet mignon at least that's what internet says but your waiter says it's different meat ???
It was my husbands 50th Birthday and Valentine’s Day. I wanted him to have a special dinner. Going to the Square was an excellent choice!!!! The food , the staff and the energy was all A1!!!! Definitely going back there real soon!!!
The waiter didn't really know how to describe many dishes. We arrived at 5pm when it opened and was the second couple. After ordering the waiter told my wife you must order a desert because is going to be busy tonight. I found that rude. My wife said no. That she wasn't sure if she was going to order one. When asked about the Colorado lamb chops. He said its made with salt and pepper. Was sort of rude.
Desserts were great
Great attention paid to kids
The pre-fix is fabulous - four courses for $45.00 and $5 for glass of wine. Went there two nights in a row! The food is so great and the staff is excellent and so welcoming.
We had a delightful and delicious dinner, with great food, great wine and great service.
We ordered from the prix fixe and had filet mignon, with delicious
salads and ice cream and sorbet for dessert. The noise level is excellent -you could easily
carry on a conversation. The restaurant is spacious and the service was excellent. I look forward to returning many times.
