A nice surprise. Steak was perfectly done, everything made on premises; rum raisin oatmeal ice cream delicious, and we were easily out in time for a Lincoln Center curtain.
Great place for a romantic dinner. Delicious food and excellent service.
We had the prefix dinner before a play at Lincoln Center. The prefix has several choices for $45. a great value. Dinner was delicious our best during our NYC stay. Dinner with large servings of perfectly cooked & seasoned steaks, roasted Brussels spouts, & potatoes was accompanied by a balanced red wine. The apple crisp was warm with a hint of cinnamon & vanilla ice cream. Efficient friendly service respecting play time without the feeling of rushing. A definite return to this restaurant.
Great place for a steak. Walked from Lincoln Center. I would go back again.
Steaks were awesome.
We were a party of 5 heading to the opera and they could not have been nicer. Just a great evening all around. Bartenders were fast and attentive. Dinner was great. The wine list was perfect. Sommelier could not have been more helpful. I would go back in flash. This is our new pre-met dinner spot.
Be carefull!!! This restaurant OVERCHARGES on sales tax. If you complain they will give you a lower bill.
My only criticism would be that we were a 1/2 early for a 5:00 reservation and they turned us away. They should at least have the bar open for early arrivals because we were force to find refuge in the neighboring restaurant. As were a few other patrons.
Once we were seated everything was fantastic!
Perfect restaurant for celebrating our special occasion. Loved the food, atmosphere and friendly service!!
Great place, great food and wine! We really enjoyed their wines at just $10/glass during happy hour and my boyfriend still talking about the steak he had. $1 oysters were excellent and salads we ordered were delicious. Definitely coming back.
I live across the street from this restaurant and it keeps changing hands. The last ownership brought me back this time but I was disappointed. The menu was much different, the food was mediocre, the service was Ok but the place was empty. The ambiance hasn't changed so that was the best part of the meal but you paid through the nose for that ambiance. I don't know who bought the place but its a loser.
the food very good the place soso
Aria condizionata eccessivamente alta
Great food and Yvonne was an awesome. Service was a bit slow at the bar, and the wine list could use a broader selection.
Other than that no complaints and would recommend.
New Years. Eve... Jonathan and Yvonne did an outstanding job on New Years Eve. Thanks to the staff and the chef. Food was excellent
Overall the food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. The hostess did forget about us so we ended up waiting 30 mins to be seated when we already had a reservation. And I will say the porterhouse is much bigger in other restaurants so just be wary. But it was still delicious and enough for us! Creamed spinach is delicious too!
Celebrated New Year's Eve at restaurant. Unfortunately, requested table was not available and it was very busy. Holiday decor was fun but service was not as I've come to expect from many previous visits. Bread plates were whisked away and we were not asked if more bread was desired. Preferred sauces for steak were also not mentioned when order was taken and requested after steak was served. Maybe additional staff was needed on such a hectic evening??
We were disappointed at our NYE dinner. The previous owners / chef did a much better job at both food and their welcoming complimentary offerings, which were always a nice touch. We both ordered the filet mignon which was cooked correctly but lacked taste. The small portion of creamed spinach was more cream than spinach. The service was very good considering it was a busy night. We were not impressed with the renovations as they did not reflect a steakhouse atmosphere, due to sterile white tiled walls. This place used to be one of our faves but now was let down,so doubt we’ll be back.
Very good neighborhood restaurant with choice of bar, dining room or private party rooms. A valuable asset for the UWS. The food is excellent and the the pre-theatre pre-fixe is a wonderful bargain.
This was my first visit to the restaurant. The service was unfortunately not befitting the prices and dining experience one would expect. While the manager tried to be accommodating, it's really tough to change a first impression. It was expensive - but not more than you'd expect for a good UWS dining spot. I ended up taking my order to go because we felt so incredibly rushed with receiving our meal within minutes of receiving our appetizers. The waiter stated "he didn't want us to have to wait" but I believe he really wanted to turn over the table quickly because it was NYE. I expected to drop $300 for two and with this price point, we expect impeccable service.
The cuts of steak were all the standard cuts you'd expect in a steakhouse, but the seasoning on the stakes was lacking. Usually, I'll eat the bark off of a rib-eye bone, but in this case, the bark had no real flavor so that was a disappointment. The steaks themselves were fine... just fine. The jumbo lump crab cocktail was small and dry. The Brussel Sprouts were amazing. The creamed spinach was a little gelatinous and looked very 1980's. The cocktails were a little too clever for their own good. They outsmarted themselves there. Service was fine. Atmosphere was bland.
Incredible food and impeccable service. It has an atmosphere of both classy and comfort at the same time. We were the New Year’s Eve and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. It is pricey but on par with any other restaurant of this caliber in New York City. We highly recommend it.
Amazing excellent experience
Staff were wonderful
Definitely recommend Yvonne and all team were extremely professional
Food and service was excellent !
Had been there before, but new management has made a difference. Food very good, service nice, ambience good. Not cheap but the food as good as other steakhouses at not quite the cost
We ate there following a show at Lincoln Center. I wouldn’t consider it to be an absolute top steakhouse in the city, but never the less excellent. Outstanding service, and a $50 pre fix menu including a glass of wine, app, entree, dessert, all of which was delicious and well worth the very reasonable price. Great steak overall, though it seemed a tad overdone compared to the medium-rare I asked for. However I can’t complain, and I would definitely recommend.
PS, add some oysters from the raw bar as well. Absolutely fantastic.
I had a great time here with my friends to close out 2018. Service was excellent
only negative was the coffee at the end of the meal...very weak and tasteless
Really great restaurant. Will definitely come here again.
Notice how this is the only place you can get a reservation? There is a reason.
The waiter was rude and the food was below grade. You’d do better at a truck stop somewhere in Jersey. So many choices around like McDonalds and street vendors that would save you a ton of cash for the same gross result.
Manager was nice and apologetic. I should have told her about the nasty waiter.
Great steaks, and excellent service! The wait staff were very accommodating when we requested a gluten free option.
Christmas dinner here was pretty terrible. The crabcake appetizer bland and tasteless. My wife and I each ordered a filet medium rare. Mine was cooked rare but hers was cooked well done....
The servers took forever, didn't refill drinks and didn't bring utensils to dish out sides. The lasagna mac n cheese noodles were soft and the portion was tiny. I reccomend this place to nobody
The atmosphere is very spacious and well lit of lights...I ordered spaghetti with aged steak meatballs but they forgot to make my meal when it came it was under cooked fettuccine noodles (they run out of spaghetti noodles) when my order came my companies are done eating. But the manager was kind enough not only took out from my bill they also present us a very chocolate cake--delicious chocolaty!!! and servers are all attentive and friendly ...I will go back again!
We went on Christmas. We have previously loved this restaurant but were informed it has changed management. We were seated 45mins past our reservation and did not receive our food until two hours past the reservation time. They gave us free desert and compt a drink which was appreciated. The little touches of the past management were missing - the mid course tortellini, the free desserts, the extra sauces with your mains and the incredible bread rolls. One of our favorites has lost its magic.
We returned to the restaurant a week after dining on Christmas night. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Best of all, the creamed corn pie was available and is the stuff of dreams. I appreciated how responsive the staff was about the concerns expressed below. It was great to have a better dining experience the second time around. Looking forward to going back!
We went for Christmas night dinner and the food was good, even if the service was spotty. When we arrived, our table wasn’t ready, so we sat in the bar. Thirty minutes later, the hostess came over to say that we had five minutes to occupy the table or it wouldn’t be available to us anymore. We were shocked as we had never been told the table was ready. The hostess said they had sent someone to tell us but no one had approached us.
We loved our corner seat at the lower level. It was cozy and spacious. Our waiter seemed informed and brought our menus quickly as well soft bread rolls seasoned with rosemary. They were absolutely delicious with soft butter.
The crab cocktail and Caesar salad were perfect. Then the food that followed was less interesting. The lamb was average as well as the strip steak. The brussels sprouts were overcooked and tasteless. The wine was served in a dirty individual carafe. And the corn pie which we had wanted was not available.
It took a long time for the waiter to come back and give us a check. When I went to the women’s room, I could hear someone yelling and literally screaming right outside the door. It sounded like someone arguing or fighting. When I walked out, I saw one of the captains dressing down a group of waiters — it was concerning. At the coat check, the staff failed to give me my scarf which I remembered I had seen on the hanger with my coat. When I went back for it, she produced it.
I would give the restaurant another chance in hopes that it would be better on a night that wasn’t quite as busy. It’s a nice setting in the right neighborhood.
Food was good but somewhat bland. Side dishes were cold within a minute. Ribeye was exceptionally fatty. Service was good.
My wife and I were in NYC for the first time celebrating Christmas and our 4th anniversary. We were pleased to find Lincoln Square Steak open and taking reservations. The signature cocktails were very good and the crab cake appetizer was probably the best crab cake I’ve ever had. We both chose the 12oz filet and neither of us were disappointed. We both managed to save room for dessert and we had the apple crisp ala mode and the egg nog ice cream ... both were amazing. It was a bit noisier than I would have expected for this type of restaurant; however, the food quality more than made up for that.
I ordered my steak medium rare and it was rare- had to send it back. The service was adequate but after we told our waiter we had to leave to get to the theater at a certain time he was not available with bill on time.
Perfect Christmas dinner.
I spent Christmas in NYC and had the pleasure of eating here for christmas day lunch. Beautiful decor and excellent food. J was a wonderful waitress and looked after us well. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere special to enjoy an occasion in NYC.
