Steak went back twice because it wasn’t rare enough
Try the theatre prixe fixe. It's a great value with amazing portions.
The beet salad was not great. It seemed to have skin and very rough root, that maybe I should have cutoff before eating. The potatoes had rosemary. That is just personal preference, since I do not like rosemary. My friend's steak was almost all fat. He said there was very little meat that he could eat.
The people working there were friendly, but service was lacking. The sides came with no serving spoons. I was not having an entree, only sides, but they did not give me a plate. And they did not come back for a long time to ask for spoons and a plate.
The table next to us was very loud guys. They were using profanity every other word, which seemed to make the older couples around them uncomfortable. I know it's awkward, but if you are the manager, you need to ask them to keep it down. Or offer to buy them a drink to move them to the bar.
Overall, very disappointing. We had high hopes. It's close to where we live, and the reviews were very good. But I don't think we will be back.
This was my first visit. The visit was excellent and I will return to try another selection of steak. Note: If you like your steak with a warm/red center, ask for rare.
Went for Valentine’s, food was A1. The service was exceptional and the wait was manageable.
It was Valentine’s Day busy but we have to wave waiters to every single thing
Price is not equal to quality ... if you have to pay 58 dollars for 2 lamb chops is redicioulous but that's my opinion .. the steaks were good but maybe you guys can offer a sause with to dip in the meat .. any kind of sause mushroom..blue cheese...truffle whatever .. and in my opinion is a tenderloin same as filet mignon at least that's what internet says but your waiter says it's different meat ???
The waiter didn't really know how to describe many dishes. We arrived at 5pm when it opened and was the second couple. After ordering the waiter told my wife you must order a desert because is going to be busy tonight. I found that rude. My wife said no. That she wasn't sure if she was going to order one. When asked about the Colorado lamb chops. He said its made with salt and pepper. Was sort of rude.
Desserts were great
Great attention paid to kids
The pre-fix is fabulous - four courses for $45.00 and $5 for glass of wine. Went there two nights in a row! The food is so great and the staff is excellent and so welcoming.
We had a delightful and delicious dinner, with great food, great wine and great service.
We ordered from the prix fixe and had filet mignon, with delicious
salads and ice cream and sorbet for dessert. The noise level is excellent -you could easily
carry on a conversation. The restaurant is spacious and the service was excellent. I look forward to returning many times.
Food not good
Celebrating a retirement
Asked for a candle in my friends dessert at front desk - they never told the waiter
I told the waiter
He brought the dessert without the candle
Said they only put candles for birthdays
The food is good, the service was not good. Wait time between appetizers and meal is to long. Dessert menu presented and never seen by wait staff until after 20-25 minutes for order. At this point dessert was spoiled and I did not order. It would be nice if you can order what you like without being told your ordering to much. Ambience is nice and so was the food.
The food, as usual, is fantastic.

For an appetizer we had calamari & octopus which was a little dry. For mains Filet mignon, 18oz rib eye and hanger steak - very good! Brussels sprouts to die for. As well as the cauliflower sprinkled with cheese!! The only thing deserts were awful. So sugary and tasted like something you can buy at 7/11. We had twinkie and chocolate checkerboard cake which was huge. Owerall we were really pleased with our main courses, but don't go there for a deserts. Service was on spot.
We received an offer in the mail for Lincoln Square Steak for Restaurant Week. Since our wedding anniversary coincides, we decided to go.
The RW menu was scant, I believe by design, so we ordered from the full menu. Our meal was excellent; everything delicious.
The waiter seemed disappointed that we didn’t order cocktails, as drinks drive up the tab ergo, the tip. I believe his service reflected that disappointment.
The dessert menu was an odd assortment, not very appetizing, including a Twinkie; we only had coffee.
The food is excellent. We’d recommend LSS for a special occasion, which would justify the high price point. However, if you enjoy dessert as much as I do, look elsewhere.
Great food, exemplary service awesome wine list! Strongly recommend!
Was hopeful that this would be a repeat destination for us on the UWS as the starter of beets was unique & special. Unfortunately the filet lacked any seasoning at all. The veal chop was good but very fatty. The room was full which must have been the reason for inattentive service.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants and we frequent it many times. Last fall ownership changed which led to a change in chefs as well. While the food is still good it has changed and is slightly less good. The pop overs are now square roles and 2 out of 3 times (since the changes) we have had issues with our steaks - from temperature and flavor not being on point. Still enjoyable but not sure the changes have been for the better. Hoping they can redeem themselves extra time we go or it may no longer be a frequent spot.
Great atmosphere for a business dinner. Food was outstanding.
Very cordial and attentive staff. The food was delicious. Would definitely go back again.
Went for dinner during restaurant week and I was expecting small plates and okay service. This was more than I could imagine. The service was outstanding, we had a few different people check in on us. The food was so delicious I will be going back.
We have been to this restaurant several times and have always been happy. However, this time was disappointing. The food was still very good and the price fixed meal was a good value. However, the service was terrible. For much of the meal we felt that we were being ignored. We thought of telling the manager but did not want to get the waiter in trouble. He seemed to be overwhelmed.
I really have enjoyed myself at Lincoln Square in the past. However I have went Last night and didn't have the same experience. The Braised Short Rib was over cooked and a bit tough. I believe that the portion was too large maybe if they had cut into smaller portions it may have been easier to manage.
The food was delicious and the service outstanding. The waiter joked around with us and made fantastic food suggestions. I would return to this restaurant.
Plain food. High price. They charged 12+dollars than I signed !!! Dishonest restaurant!
We arrived for an early reservation following a matinee performance at Lincoln Center. It was restaurant week, so we chose the Restaurant Week menu option for $42 for three courses. Our server was very attentive and courteous. Food was delicious and choices were good.
All was great, with the exception of the waitress hovering way to much. Maybe because the restaurant was not crowded so they needed to keep busy.
A nice surprise. Steak was perfectly done, everything made on premises; rum raisin oatmeal ice cream delicious, and we were easily out in time for a Lincoln Center curtain.
Great place for a romantic dinner. Delicious food and excellent service.
We had the prefix dinner before a play at Lincoln Center. The prefix has several choices for $45. a great value. Dinner was delicious our best during our NYC stay. Dinner with large servings of perfectly cooked & seasoned steaks, roasted Brussels spouts, & potatoes was accompanied by a balanced red wine. The apple crisp was warm with a hint of cinnamon & vanilla ice cream. Efficient friendly service respecting play time without the feeling of rushing. A definite return to this restaurant.
Great place for a steak. Walked from Lincoln Center. I would go back again.
Steaks were awesome.
We were a party of 5 heading to the opera and they could not have been nicer. Just a great evening all around. Bartenders were fast and attentive. Dinner was great. The wine list was perfect. Sommelier could not have been more helpful. I would go back in flash. This is our new pre-met dinner spot.
Be carefull!!! This restaurant OVERCHARGES on sales tax. If you complain they will give you a lower bill.
My only criticism would be that we were a 1/2 early for a 5:00 reservation and they turned us away. They should at least have the bar open for early arrivals because we were force to find refuge in the neighboring restaurant. As were a few other patrons.
Once we were seated everything was fantastic!
Perfect restaurant for celebrating our special occasion. Loved the food, atmosphere and friendly service!!
Great place, great food and wine! We really enjoyed their wines at just $10/glass during happy hour and my boyfriend still talking about the steak he had. $1 oysters were excellent and salads we ordered were delicious. Definitely coming back.
I live across the street from this restaurant and it keeps changing hands. The last ownership brought me back this time but I was disappointed. The menu was much different, the food was mediocre, the service was Ok but the place was empty. The ambiance hasn't changed so that was the best part of the meal but you paid through the nose for that ambiance. I don't know who bought the place but its a loser.
