For traditional, quality Peruvian cuisine, look no further than Limon Rotisserie on Valencia Street in the heart of San Francisco. Executive Chef Martin Castillo, along with his brothers Antonio and Eduardo, have created an innovative menu that is served in an inviting, colorful atmosphere. Limon Rotisserie's open dining room is ideal for larger parties. Latin-style music adds to the ambiance.
Limon Rotisserie's prix fixe menu takes the hassle out of event planning. Each prix fixe option includes cold plates, hot plates and a main course. The dinner menu features favorites like the seco de Costillas, which is prepared with braised beef short ribs and is served with potatoes, carrots, English peas and rice. Another Limon Rotisserie hit is the selection of empanadas, which include steak, chicken, veggie and cheese options.
Noisy, loud, no impossible to have a conversation loud. The food was literally thrown at us in the crazed rush of a dinner with friends. The food was good, not great. Not a place to linger.
One of my favorite restaurants in SF! Limón is a true classic: the rotisserie is always perfect, the ceviche is fantastic, and the cocktails are great, too. Highly recommend.
Delicious food, tasty drinks, vibrant atmosphere (loud) and good service
The sangria was delicious and refreshing. After ordering two glasses we decided on the pitcher which in my opinion the two glasses already ordered should have been included with a pitcher price but we let it be. The shrimp ceviche was decent. The pollo empanadas were really good. The lomo saltado was tasty especially after adding the house made hot salsa which turned it up the heat. I love spicy so this salsa added to any dish would work just as well. The pallea was also delicious. The chocolate bandito is a basic lava cake with coffee gelato and was ok. Dishes are on the expensive side and we were told the credit card system was down and they asked for cash. Luckily we had enough! Second and last complaint.
The rotisseried chicken with ensalada and yucca fries were delicious. My friends had shrimp ceviche and a mushroom dish. Both were just as yummy. Will definitely go there again to try their many other dishes.
Way too noisy to really enjoy the delicious meal...
I don’t recommend it for anything except a take-out order!
Busy place and all of Mission full of the tech type crowd, which brings its insularity everywhere it goes.
Food is good. Rotisserie chicken fed four of us well. String bean side was excellent. Ceviche of fish was largish lumps of mushy fish without much flavor so that was not a hit.
It's clearly popular and clearly fun if a crowd and lively time is what you want.
Way too loud!!!
The range on the menu is good. Options for sharing, and adding side dishes. Vegetarian options are pretty good. The cocktail menu was good, full bar. Also for paleo types there's enough options as well. We ordered the full chicken - somehow $28 for a full roasted chicken seems pretty pricey, especially since it seemed on the small side. That and the 2 sides that came with it (delicious green beans and a really small portion of fries) and two other dishes we ordered (mushrooms not so terrific, salad was quite good) fed a group of 3 (including a big eater) with some to spare
Atmosphere is nice, clean looking space. Service on a busy night was pretty attentive.
But damn the place is loud. Painfully so. We were next to the "super louds" - after they left it was better, but just be forewarned.
it's good food, a decent value and nice people - worth a try.
Got there on time for reservation 8pm never got seated, we ended up seating at the bar area ourselves by 8:45pm
Delicioso como siempre ! Lo mejor en pollo rostizado en San Francisco.
Great experience as always. Best beef tongue in SF :)
Yummy food and amazing pisco sour cocktail. We didn't get much food for what we paid (small mains) but somehow ended up full anyways
We enjoyed a delicious meal. The noise level was off the charts and we had to shout to hear each other over the table (only 2 of us dining). It is a very lively and popular place, so it is understandable that it would be loud. If there is a way to baffle the noise with noise reducing panels on the ceilings and/or walls, that might make it more enjoyable. That being said, we will definitely dine here again.
The food is delicious if a bit on the pricey side.
The folks tables near us were literally shouting at the top of their lungs, and none of the staff suggested to these super annoying douchebags that perhaps shouting in a restaurant is not very polite, which made it a fairly unpleasant experience for me.
Never disappoints. Love the food. Love the service.
While I like Limon, I should have chosen the 2nd location as the location seemed to attract a louder and more raucous crowd.
The food was amazing, and so were the drinks and service. Prices were affordable. Must try the ceviche.
Everything we ordered was salty. It’s also very loud inside to have any kind of conversation. Staff wasn’t attentive. We waited a long time for someone to come by for our needs. Wouldn’t come back again
Noise level was way to high, has a hard time to chat with friend.
The food is tasty - Pescado a la Macho (good mix of seafood, a bit salty but great flavor), Lomo Saltado (beef was burnt but flavor still good), green beans (crisp and seasoned well) and the Bread Pudding for dessert (was a bit dry, wouldn't recommend it). Service was good and attentive. The unfortunate downside is the volume in the restaurant which is pretty unbearable and makes conversation impossible. I'm not sure what they could do about it since it has high ceilings and is packed with people and tables. My friend really enjoyed her Traditional Chilcanos drink that she had two and I had the sangria which was ok. I will probably not be back anytime soon but will recommend this place for folks to go eat, not catch up!
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!
Always amazing, one of my favorite places in the whole city.
Birthday dinner! Food and service was fine but it was so so loud it was painful:(
Excellent food and service, but very noisy. The chicken and seviche were both outstanding-- excellent balance of spices.
We were seated quickly, service was great & food was amazing. Just a little noisy!
Food was good and so was the service. The screaming children hordes of children were not great.
Love Limon. Staff is friendly and professional, food very good and value outstanding. I work nearby and for quality, ambiance, service and price there is no better option in the Mission.
We loved food and service noise level was so high we could not have a conversation
Everything was great just a bit too noisy.
I have been obsessed with Peruvian food for years, and I can't believe it was my first time here. Shrimp and Octopus ceviche was excellent, Jalea and Lomo Saltado also very good (steak was cooked to a beautiful medium rare). Door was crowded with people waiting, but with the reservation, we were seated right away. Will definitely be back!
The food is always on point!!
Limon Rotisseries has delicious roasted chicken with peruvian spices, nice side dishes, good ceviche and yummy pisco sours.
Went to Limon for a post Valentines dinner. Food was excellent but service was lacking. Server took our order and disappeared. We received our food from someone else and someone asked us if we wanted water but didn’t return with any. We had to flag someone down for water when tables around us were getting glasses and carafes of it. After our meal we also had to flag someone down for our check. Our waiter was nowhere to be found. No offer of any other items or dessert. I really felt unwelcomed at this restaurant. Good food but no hospitality.
Loved everything of IT! Our server Mya was awesome! Loved her!
I've always gone to the Limon on So. Van Ness but wanted to try the one on Valencia. The vibe at the Valencia restaurant was much more colorful and energetic, perhaps because of the location. The food was very good; I love their roasted chicken and yuca fries. The drinks are incredible. The service was professional and friendly, but a bit off; maybe because it was so busy (this was a Saturday night). I highly recommend Limon on Valencia.
Noisiest place I have Ever eaten! We had to scream at each other across the table to be heard.
Never going back. My ears were ringing after we left
It is great but a bit noisy. I really could not hear my friend at the end of a six person table. We sat in the top level. Everything else was great.
So great! Amazing service; reservationist got us in super quickly despite an error with their system. Great sangria.
We had such a wonderful meal… I brought friends from out of town and it was the best restaurant we had visited. I always return.
The problem I had the other night was the wine. The server was so helpful in giving me three different ones to taste. All we’re unsatisfactory. The evening before we went for dinner the dinner was horrible but the wine was excellent :). The prices are very high and that is why the winds should be Exceptional. I hope the next time I return the red wines are much better.
