Limon Rotisserie - Valencia
For traditional, quality Peruvian cuisine, look no further than Limon Rotisserie on Valencia Street in the heart of San Francisco. Executive Chef Martin Castillo, along with his brothers Antonio and Eduardo, have created an innovative menu that is served in an inviting, colorful atmosphere. Limon Rotisserie's open dining room is ideal for larger parties. Latin-style music adds to the ambiance.
Limon Rotisserie's prix fixe menu takes the hassle out of event planning. Each prix fixe option includes cold plates, hot plates and a main course. The dinner menu features favorites like the seco de Costillas, which is prepared with braised beef short ribs and is served with potatoes, carrots, English peas and rice. Another Limon Rotisserie hit is the selection of empanadas, which include steak, chicken, veggie and cheese options.
Horribly noisy, might be ok for dinner for two where your heads are right next to each other, but difficult to talk in a group of four.
Service was much better this time. The terrible hostess we've dealt with the last 3 times wasn't there.
The food and service were top-notch for such an inexpensive resraurant. They even kept my water glass filled from a glass bottle on the table, which was such a nice touch. The noise level, however, made it pretty impossible to hear each other.
Although it was busy and 2 of our people didn’t show up at the correct restaurant, the wait for a table for 2 was minimal and we were seated pretty quickly! (We did make a reservation!)The service was good and we enjoyed our time there. I really love the food here so I will be coming back, but if it’s after 4 pm on a weekend, better make a reservation!!!
Went in for a close friend’s birthday. Terrible service. Forgotten about, correct order wasn’t placed and missing some to go items once home.
Food is delicious ! Service is good! Must try their rotisserie chicken; also, the paella and queso empanadas are divine. I’ve eaten at many great restaurants and I can say the food is great for the price, not too expensive. Only negative? the dining room is a tight squeeze and doesn’t feel very lux.
First time here. Great vibe and exceptional food. Had the Rice and seafood dish. Fresh and tasty. Beef tongue was disappointing- overcooked. Chicken was fantastic. Lychee pisco sour is my fave.
The roasted chicken is absolutely delicious...it's a great way to go for sharing.
2 people and dishes served with many minutes of difference instead of at the same time. Also very noisy. However good fish
This place is heavy on the meat, however it worked for out vegetarian friends as well as us cerviche lovers. Food delicious. Problem was it was way too loud to talk. It was a Saturday night...I would go back on a week night.
Food was great as always, try the chilcano maracuya, is a delicious. drink
The service was great and the dishes came quickly. The taste of the various dishes was outstanding, and makes me come Bach again and again to taste additional dishes.
Great food, service & drinks!
Love the grilled octopus and the kale salad! Also beef short rib entree is amazing. Of course the chicken is always perfect. Excellent service, as usual.
Have loved this restaurant for years! Chicken even rivals Zuni Cafe!
My first visit. Poor service. Server placed wrong dishes to diners, even identified the food incorrectly. We needed to exchange plates. Server never came by to ask if we needed anything nor asked how we liked the food. Take out boxes of leftovers packed by the server were also brought to wrong diners. Fortunately we checked our boxes before leaving. Again we had to exchange items. Restaurant was not busy - less than one third full. Food average flavor. Average pricing. Overall, Not recommended.
Nice place, good food. But waiters are way too pushy, coming every 2 mins to check on you. They just want you to eat fast so they can give your table to the next customer..
The food was delicious!
Delicious menu and no disappointments! We had the rotisserie chicken, three kinds of ceviche, and mac and cheese. Great Father's Day brunch!
We had a great night the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious😋
Food and ambiance was fantastic. Our server was friendly at first but seemed irritated towards the end. She became unfriendly and receptive to our needs.
Amazing food, superb service and great drinks.
Don’t miss the ceviche or the chicken. Taking friends and going again tonight.
Delicious food, full bar, and good service in a lively atmosphere. Best way to enjoy the food is family style. So much to choose from. My faves were the ceviche, empanadas, and signature rotisserie chicken.
I'll be in Hawaii next month and it'll be great to take family to the Kapolei location!
Delicious & consistent, Limon is great. The staff are kind and knowledgeable about the food & ingredients.
Great place to take for out of town visitors for something unique. Make a reservation. And it is really loud.
Food and drinks great as always - but even upstairs it is very loud - can't hear the person speaking across from me
I have had much better ceviche than what I experienced here. Fish was far less than tender and overly acidic in flavor. Waitstaff was timely but hardly charming. And it's LOUD in there.
The food and service were great but it was very very noisy. It was quite difficult to converse with my fellow diners.
Always fabulous! Get the chicken. Get the green beans. You're welcome!
Great food and service. Will be back to enjoy the remainder of the menu.
Wife and I had three cocktails between us, plus two cups of coffee. All very nice. My main dish was a paella with shrimp, very nicely spiced and a generous portion size. We also shared fried green beans, better than any asian restaurant we have encountered. Perfectly spiced and cooked without overcooking. Very tasty. Wife's main course was Lengua A la Parrilla (beef tongue). She thought it was very good. We shared an order of bread pudding with a dab of vanilla ice cream. Rich in egg with sweet syrup, moist and thick - nothing not to like about that. Total price with tip was $130 with 20% tips. One of the best values we have experienced in our many many dining Bay Area experiences. Will definitely return. Very good food with a mediteranean flare at a comparatively very low price.
Service was really slow and not very attentive. Everyone’s dishes came out at different times. Big pet peeve.
1st time there for an early dinner before the Roxie Theatre. Lively fun atmosphere, food was good( Grilled Octopus delicious). Metal chairs very uncomfortable and noise volume was way too loud....shouting to talk.
awkward date, great dinner! one of my favorite spots :)
I've come here many times but it's seems like the hostess' are always the worst. They always have a bad attitude and this time they sat us right next to their desk. I thought no big deal but then there were two hostesses and one kept basically putting her butt in my face. She didn't do it on purpose of course but when I looked at her shocked she got annoyed with me. This is the third time in a row I've had to deal with the same rude hostess and once when I got takeout. I won't be going back to this one anymore. Not worth the headache.
Upstairs is ghetto
Loud, bustling, fun and 7:30 Thursday. Rotisserie chicken moist and flavorful. Margaritas, olé!
I have been here many times and always take visitors here. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. They are so helpful if you are not sure what to order.
Thank you again. I will definitely be back.
I would tell my friends to go to the South Van Ness location. It’s impossible to hear your dinner companions at this location. Ceviche Mixto, empanadas, and chicken were good. My friend ordered the paella and he said it was nothing special and would not order it again.
