The upstairs is SO loud. But the food is amazing
Delicious chicken, empanadas, and ceviche! Great service too! Overall a great dinner!
Tremendous value given the high quality of the food, including fresh ceviche. Friendly service. The place was a bit crowded and loud, with TVs playing sports, etc. - more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant. Not bad, just know what to expect. Will return if we're ever in SF again!
The best chicken I have EVER had. Ceviche was delicious and the passion fruit pisco sour was very tasty. It was pretty loud which made conversation a little difficult.
Excellent reasonably priced ethnic food.
Drinks contained minimal alcohol but pricey!
The food was so delicious, we ordered the lomo saltado (amazing), the cebiche, escabeche, pollo a la brasa, all well made and flavorful. My 6 year old ate everything and asked, do we have Limón where we live? Highly recommended!
Very loud, medicore service, wouldn't recommend. Other locations of this restaurant seem more upscale. More of a casual dining + hectic place than I remember.
Great menu choices, exceptionally fast service, EXCELLENT drinks. Strongly recommend trying it out if you have the chance and want something Peruvian
We picked this place since we wanted to try a new restaurant and saw all the reviews on Opentable. There were 4 of us and none of us had been to either of the locations in SF. When we first walked in we were told we would not be seated until the whole party was there which living in Sonoma County was super odd. Our friends were down the street parking which we told the hostess... so we waited and then were seated . We were taken upstairs which I was happy about because there were so many tables with kids that is was so loud on the main floor along with the kitchen.
We orders a pitcher of Sangria right away and were very pleased by it - we new it was going to be a good choice of a restaurant.
The 4 of us decided to order 5 dishes and share it all so that we could taste everything. Carne Empanadas, Half Chicken with two sides of Chifa Green beans and Papas Fritas. Then the Limon’s Ceviche Trio with the Taro Chips and lastly ordered the Lomo Saltado. It was all amazing and we would all order it all over again.
The only reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because I feel like it could use more decor. It’s not bad by any means but to have such a unique type of food - which is an experience - a more of a Peruvian atmosphere would be awesome.
We will for sure be back and have been telling all our friends about Limon Rotisseie. Thank you for the yummy food!
The food and drinks in this restaurant are great. Also de service is very good.
However, if you get a table upstairs, you'll struggle to have a conversation with your friends, the noise levels are so high that even hearing the person next to you is a challenge.
We've always loved this restaurant, but we haven't been able to get there as often as we'd like lately. It had been awhile since our last visit, and somehow the it has just gotten better! We're big fans of the chicken, and that was great, as always, but since we were all hungry we branched out and tried some new things, too, and everything was so delicious. We particularly enjoyed the carne empanandas, the chifa green beans, and the truffle mac and cheese. Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere lively and fun.
Everything from start to finish was fantastic as always! We visit Limon every time we are in San Francisco and they never disappoint!
We had the rudest server who treated our whole party so poorly we were unable to even enjoy our food. We made a birthday reservation for 9pm, got there on time but as soon as we sat down we were told we needed to order right away because the kitchen was about to close. We asked if we could have five minutes to review the menu and were told that we could “have three minutes.” Besides the fact that we were rushed the whole entire night from start to finish, the whole waitstaff and kitchen staff were staring at us throughout the night.
The most ridiculous part happened when the same server came and sat down a couple right next to us, AT 9:45!!! They ordered food and drinks, and i asked her if the kitchen was open and she responded with a snarky “what do you want?” The whole experience was beyond insulting and upsetting.
We were a group of young women who dressed up to celebrate a birthday and came to spend good money on good food. Had we received quality service and not felt rushed and watched the whole time, we would have ordered more food and left a tip. As we were leaving, the bartender called out “have a good night” we all heard him but were so focused on leaving and getting out of that atmosphere that none of us responded. He then proceeded to yell it again very aggressively at our backs.
This was a sad experience because i have been here before and enjoyed myself. Unfortunately, this was so traumatizing that i never plan on returning again or suggesting it to anyone.
One of our party members, the birthday girl herself, called in the next couple days to leave a complaint and the manager apologized and is sending a gift card in the mail, but unfortunately she and some of the other guests were visiting from out of state and wont even be able to enjoy the comp.
Terrible experience considering how expensive the food is. Dont give them your coin yall.
Horribly noisy, might be ok for dinner for two where your heads are right next to each other, but difficult to talk in a group of four.
Service was much better this time. The terrible hostess we've dealt with the last 3 times wasn't there.
Seriously good food but my friend was screaming at me across the table because the restaurant is so loud!!
The food and service were top-notch for such an inexpensive resraurant. They even kept my water glass filled from a glass bottle on the table, which was such a nice touch. The noise level, however, made it pretty impossible to hear each other.
Although it was busy and 2 of our people didn’t show up at the correct restaurant, the wait for a table for 2 was minimal and we were seated pretty quickly! (We did make a reservation!)The service was good and we enjoyed our time there. I really love the food here so I will be coming back, but if it’s after 4 pm on a weekend, better make a reservation!!!
Went in for a close friend’s birthday. Terrible service. Forgotten about, correct order wasn’t placed and missing some to go items once home.
Food is delicious ! Service is good! Must try their rotisserie chicken; also, the paella and queso empanadas are divine. I’ve eaten at many great restaurants and I can say the food is great for the price, not too expensive. Only negative? the dining room is a tight squeeze and doesn’t feel very lux.
First time here. Great vibe and exceptional food. Had the Rice and seafood dish. Fresh and tasty. Beef tongue was disappointing- overcooked. Chicken was fantastic. Lychee pisco sour is my fave.
The roasted chicken is absolutely delicious...it's a great way to go for sharing.
2 people and dishes served with many minutes of difference instead of at the same time. Also very noisy. However good fish
This place is heavy on the meat, however it worked for out vegetarian friends as well as us cerviche lovers. Food delicious. Problem was it was way too loud to talk. It was a Saturday night...I would go back on a week night.
Food was great as always, try the chilcano maracuya, is a delicious. drink
The service was great and the dishes came quickly. The taste of the various dishes was outstanding, and makes me come Bach again and again to taste additional dishes.
Great food, service & drinks!
Love the grilled octopus and the kale salad! Also beef short rib entree is amazing. Of course the chicken is always perfect. Excellent service, as usual.
Have loved this restaurant for years! Chicken even rivals Zuni Cafe!
My first visit. Poor service. Server placed wrong dishes to diners, even identified the food incorrectly. We needed to exchange plates. Server never came by to ask if we needed anything nor asked how we liked the food. Take out boxes of leftovers packed by the server were also brought to wrong diners. Fortunately we checked our boxes before leaving. Again we had to exchange items. Restaurant was not busy - less than one third full. Food average flavor. Average pricing. Overall, Not recommended.
Nice place, good food. But waiters are way too pushy, coming every 2 mins to check on you. They just want you to eat fast so they can give your table to the next customer..
The food was delicious!
Delicious menu and no disappointments! We had the rotisserie chicken, three kinds of ceviche, and mac and cheese. Great Father's Day brunch!
We had a great night the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious😋
Food and ambiance was fantastic. Our server was friendly at first but seemed irritated towards the end. She became unfriendly and receptive to our needs.
Amazing food, superb service and great drinks.
Don’t miss the ceviche or the chicken. Taking friends and going again tonight.
Delicious food, full bar, and good service in a lively atmosphere. Best way to enjoy the food is family style. So much to choose from. My faves were the ceviche, empanadas, and signature rotisserie chicken.
I'll be in Hawaii next month and it'll be great to take family to the Kapolei location!
Delicious & consistent, Limon is great. The staff are kind and knowledgeable about the food & ingredients.
Great place to take for out of town visitors for something unique. Make a reservation. And it is really loud.
