An unusual setting, The Scullery restaurant in Lyndhurst’s Lime Wood hotel evokes the look and feel of an 18th century country house kitchen. With a large open fireplace in the heart of the room, The Scullery has a cosy, informal feel and a completely unique appearance melding French, British and Scandinavian influences in its design. Outside, a charming terrace is the location of weekly barbeques, while inside, that huge fireplace is used for roasting meat ‘a la ficelle’. The Scullery’s mainly modern British cuisine has an appropriately hearty, provencal flavour making use of many local ingredients, even in the small selection of Italian pastas and risottos. Of particular note are the restaurant’s carved-at-your-table Sunday roasts, available by prior arrangement.

This is the most remarkably venue with a great feeling of attention to the smallest detail and huge pride from a highly skilled staff. The scullery is relaxed with marvellous fresh food and the best service ever in UK. Comparable to Le Gavroche for planning and service. It is not inexpensive but worth paying for a very special occasion. I would love to spend a week end here but the state pension hasnt yet reached the required level Thank you for a fantastic, never to be forgotten dinner. Rod and Lesley

Great food and great ambience. Only two criticisms: 1) service slow and not as accurate as should be (took a while to be served drinks) and had to remind about top table booking being 20% off. Overall however service is friendly and good 2) The restaurant is FAR too hot........ turn on the air con guys!

The Scullary at the Lime Wood Hotel near Lyndhurst in the New Forest. A hidden gem. (Seriously, if you are going in the dark get good directions!) But when you get there. Wow! The Lime Wood Hotel is set in beautiful english countryside in a Regency country house and The Scullery is their "very own country house kitchen". The service is as near to perfect as you can get. Attentive but not pretentious. The food comes in good portions, is beautifully presented and very tasty.

Only one criticism, and that was the time we waited for our pre-prandial drink on arrival. After that, service was great as was the food! As local people I'm sure the scullery will become a regular fixture in our dining diary.

From the moment you approach the wonderful building that is the Lime Wood Hotel, to the second you leave, you will be delighted with your choice of dining. The quality of the service and the excellence of the food are worth every penny you will spend. We have dined in Michelin restaurants and this ranks right up there with them.

The Scullery at Limewood provided excellent 'comfort food' - the made on request 'toad in the hole' was excellent

The Scullery never disappoints, and this visit was made even more enjoyable by the friendly welcome from the staff, along with some great company in the bar. Highly recommend Toad in the Hole - a solid winter selection and truly impressive.

Booked a table at the Lime Wood hotel (New Forest) for our anniversary lunch. Everything was perfect - food, service and location (ideal for an after lunch walk through the stunning New Forest scenery). We will definitely go again.

The Scullery at Lime Wood was a perfect venue for January evening - our table was positioned close to the open fire. Food was good - with lots of variety.
