Limani Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was beautiful and had 3 rooms to chose from . We chose the quiet back room . The is s bar room with tv and the larger main dining room good for families. The staff was most attentive and the service great . We loved the price fixed 4 course menu of fresh authentic Greek food ! We love this restaurant !
I booked through open table over a month ago and noted that we were celebrating a birthday and request for table in quieter area due to cochlear implant wearer. We arrived and noticed how cold reception area was. There were thre empty tables behind reception desk, most likely due to the very cold drag from the door remaining open. We were told to wait in bar and after 20 minutes, we were escorted to the table behind reception desk. I requested a different table and was told there were none. I said we would wait and was told there would be none others available. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and tried to do his best. At one point I afked the manager if he could close the front door, and he responded that he was looking for someone to stand there, rather than just closing the door. Our waiter saw that the door was open again and ran to close it. We were not dressed to be dining outside and the very cold draft from door made it impossible to enjoy our meal. On another note my $20 drink was all ice and we found the food to be average in comparison to other area restaurants in the area at that price point. I guess it’s great to be a regular there, but we will never know as we won’t be returning.
Last night (Jan. 13th, 18), Limani was transformed into a zoo of people. There were lots of "groups", parties, youngsters and the noise level was above anything we can describe.
The waiters rushed us from the start. Instead of first asking what we would like to drink, they started telling us what the specials were and trying to take our orders (we didn't even have a chance to sit down properly). This is not acceptable behavior. The restaurant tried to accommodate EVERYONE, on account of everyone's discomfort. The "coat lady" had lots of coats falling off the hangers, on the floor, many people arguing with her about whose coat is which. It took us about 5 minutes to make our way out of the crowds. Wall to wall people. It looked like a street demonstration, not a restaurant. We were patrons of this place often and for many years but, last evening we decided that if Limani doesn't appreciate its customers, the
customers have many other choices.
I’ve always loved Limani over the other neighborhood restaurants that have been trying to be Limani. Food and atmosphere excellent. One thing I notice has changed, the servers and staff are unfriendly and a bit rude and tend to rush you through your meal. I was disappointed because that was the main reason why I avoided the other places . Hopefully this was just a chance evening and not the new standard for them.
Excellent service and incredible food. One of the best Greek restaurants in New York (I've been to them all). Thank you Adhi for always professional guidance with food selections. If you go see Adhi or Nestor and you'll always get excellent service and great food ideas!!
When I think about where to eat in Long Island, especially near Manhasset or Roslyn, the first place I think of is Limani.
The second thing I think of is the grilled octopus, which is the best I’ve ever had & can not stop myself from getting two orders of it.
Not only does Limani have delicious Greek food, specializing in the freshest seafood, they have a staff that makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door, which is just as important to the meal as the food you’re eating.
Being in a business where I have to entertain clients on a regular basis, I have had the privilege to work with one of the most professional and accommodating people, I have ever met in the restaurant business, Melissa Sutlovich.
Whether you need to have a great first date, an important business meeting or a family party - Limani will make whatever event you’re there for a perfect time.
Did I mention how amazing the grilled octopus is?
Everything was great considering we started off bad.... I wasn’t happy that although we arrived 20min (7:40) early for our reservation we were seated 35 minutes late. (8:35) And then it took 20 min for someone to take our order. other than that the service and the food was great.
We were able to get to the restaurant quite a bit before our reservation but the hostess was happy to accommodate us.
The food was excellent as usual. Our waiter and his support personnel were excellent.
We’ve dined at Limani several times. Each time we had a good time and we will certainly dine there in future.
Our group dined at Limani's before going to a concert, so we had to dine early and we enjoyed the dining early option. The food was amazing, very generous portions, beautifully plated and wonderful service. Be sure and order the salmon and the lobster bisque. We will be returning soon ..
Great food, service and ambiance, noise level too high, but got better later, the food and service made it bearable. I would definitely be back, to try the early dinner pre-fix menu, which sounds enticing after listening to one of the chef description of what it entails. Overall great experience, everyone was raving about the experience.
Went here on a Wednesday evening for my wife's birthday. We went early to take advantage of the early dinner which makes the price of dinner here relatively reasonable. I had Chicken soup avgolemono , which was luke warm in arrival and without much taste. Then had scallops as an appetizer. They were cooked properly but overly sweet . The main dish was sea bass on waiters recommendation. It was ok but seemed overly coated with olive oil or just a very oily fish. My wife's drink did not have much alcohol in it. The service was good and the space is quite nice. The food however at least in this experience was way overpriced and a better tasting meal for less cost can be had at nearby Greek restaurants for less money.
We have eaten at Limani several times in the past, enjoying the meals tremendously. This visit for dinner with another couple raised the bar even higher. We chose the early special 4 course dinners for super value. I enjoyed the beet salad with an incredible dip made of almonds and garlic. This was followed by their special octopus salad, and Dorado for the main entree. The walnut cake with ice cream topped off the meal. Everything was perfectly prepared, a real culinary delight. Service was spectacular. Prompt, attentive, yet despite the hordes of waiting diners, there was no hurry to rush us out. To say Limani is popular is an understatement. Five stars for us!
Wonderful experience. Lunch menu has varied selection. Enjoyed the bread and spreads. Had the salad(incredibly fresh), loup de mer (a few bones) and the walnut cake. My friend had the salmon. All dishes well prepared and presented. Lovely ambiance. Leisurely service. Will definitely put this back in the rotation.
