Limani Ratings and Reviews
Went here on a Wednesday evening for my wife's birthday. We went early to take advantage of the early dinner which makes the price of dinner here relatively reasonable. I had Chicken soup avgolemono , which was luke warm in arrival and without much taste. Then had scallops as an appetizer. They were cooked properly but overly sweet . The main dish was sea bass on waiters recommendation. It was ok but seemed overly coated with olive oil or just a very oily fish. My wife's drink did not have much alcohol in it. The service was good and the space is quite nice. The food however at least in this experience was way overpriced and a better tasting meal for less cost can be had at nearby Greek restaurants for less money.
We have eaten at Limani several times in the past, enjoying the meals tremendously. This visit for dinner with another couple raised the bar even higher. We chose the early special 4 course dinners for super value. I enjoyed the beet salad with an incredible dip made of almonds and garlic. This was followed by their special octopus salad, and Dorado for the main entree. The walnut cake with ice cream topped off the meal. Everything was perfectly prepared, a real culinary delight. Service was spectacular. Prompt, attentive, yet despite the hordes of waiting diners, there was no hurry to rush us out. To say Limani is popular is an understatement. Five stars for us!
Wonderful experience. Lunch menu has varied selection. Enjoyed the bread and spreads. Had the salad(incredibly fresh), loup de mer (a few bones) and the walnut cake. My friend had the salmon. All dishes well prepared and presented. Lovely ambiance. Leisurely service. Will definitely put this back in the rotation.
Limani Roslyn is a breath of fresh air on crowded Northern Blvd. The restaurant is lovely, decor is cool and ample staff is on hand even on a weekday afternoon. The portions are generous and the prixe fix lunch left everyone satisfied. The quality of the produce and the excellent seasoning raise the bar on standard Greek menu items. I would definitely recommend.
While this is not a steak house, the Cowboy Rib Eye steak is great. The ambiance and clientele are most decidedly upscale. The menu is varied and there's probably something on it for everyone. Finally the chairs at the tables are the most comfortable I've ever ex[erienced in a restaurant.
The cuisine is excellent. However, service GIZAY was not the best. We waited too long for each course, and ESTEE glasses were not filled until I flagged a waiter.
No asked us if we needed anything.
It is unfortunate that, for this birthday lunch. The service was not as good as it usually is.
Not a great day at Limani.
We couldn't get our waiter - he never asked if we wanted another drink and my husband waited for the requested steak sauce that never arrived. The noise level in the restaurant is very poor - if you go it has to be with another person as you can barely carry on a conversation. The décor is lovely, very, very poor service.
We had a fabulous 3 course meal for $26.95. The seafood was so fresh and delicious. We had the salmon and lobster pasta for main courses. The octopus was tender and delicious as an appetizer as was the very fresh Greek salad. Desserts were good too. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a fair priced, 3 course lunch.
Lovely looking restaurant with an emphasis on imported fish and Greek specialties. Service was on point. Oysters were fresh and delicious., mussels were superb (wish I had some good bread for the sauce.) The grilled octopus was amazing, near perfection. The girls had Langostinos and they both loved it. We had halibut and dorado, very fresh and top quality. Desserts were excellent as well. My only negative was the pita bread; cold, dry and tasteless. Also, this place is NOISY.........so don't expect to have a romantic or quiet dinner. Overall, I loved it and will definitely be back.
We were very happy with our apps, entrees halibut and dover sole were excellent choices we decided on as our server provided diner service. He was rude and inattentive, we were disappointed from time he took our drink orders and dropped the check. WE expected an experience along with the excellent food. Its unfortunate the service was so bad only because he was so dismissive and rude!
Great prixe fix weekday lunch. Seating outside and inside available. We sat in bar area in very comfy seats. Incredibly relaxing and great service. Lunch special was really good. Tomato salad was very fresh and perfectly balanced and dressed. Loup de mer fish was also fresh, delicate and perfect. Dessert options all good. Coffee is not included but was good too. We thoroughly enjoyed and will go back. It was like a mini vaca with delicious food and gracious accommodating service.
