We went on a night when St. Patrick's Day items were featured and had one of our best meals at Limani, ever. It just shows you that the kitchen is creative and adaptable and makes whatever they decide to serve, extremely well.
food was beyond excellent. staff was incredibly nice. I usually get the Lamb chops, but the entire menu is on another level.
It started with a table for four that is more appropriately sized for two. The appetizers were not served at the same time. When dinner arrived, for three of us not all four, it was cold. Not even tepid but cold. The fourth meal arrived hot - lucky girl. Manager offered to "re-heat" our dinners, not exactly what you want for Rare Ahi Tuna. The meals were returned, barely warm and clearly re-heated. Two of the three of us simply did not eat and left hungry. Our full meal was comp'd so from that standpoint they did the right thing however we all felt that an apology or some indication that they messed up would have been appropriate. Will not be returning.
We had a very nice time! The wait staff was very attentive and the food was delicious.
Had a wonderful Friday night dinner here with good friends. The grilled octopus salad was delicious, I hope they never take it off the menu. The crab and avocado toasts were also very tasty. The shrimp in a cream sauce over rice (can’t remember its real name) was delightful but a little bland. Expected it to have a bit of a kick from the menu description. Friends enjoyed the halibut special very much. In general we had a relaxed dinner with plenty of time to talk. Just what we wanted. We were in the new extension of the dining room and while tables are a little tight you can actually hear yourself speak compared to the dining room at the rear which I consistently find very loud. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
Great experience! Love this place!
Food was good. Service was a little slow and it was very loud
Our waitress Debra was awesome and food was amazing. I will definitely be returning.
We are new to the area, and our daughter who lives nearby suggested Limani's. It was our good fortune to eat there during Westfield's Restaurant Week that was ending two days later.
They have a very nice price fixed menu, and the restaurant was charming.
The food was wonderful. I had the swordfish that was grilled to perfection, and my wife had the salmon which was very good but had a touch too much teriyaki sauce. We had a scallop appetizer that was unbelievably delicious. Everything was great.
Another plus was that you can bring your own wine.
Our waiter was great and personable.
Our daughter and her husband are eating there tonight based on our raves to them.
I had ordered their Sunday special - scallops with figs, with a side of sauteed spinach and cubed carrots. I am a total fan of scallops; order them whenever I see them on the menu. The ones I had were a tad overcooked and the overall seasoning was bland. However, this is my first visit to the restaurant. The rest of the menu looks promising. I will definitely give them another try.
Birthday for my friend, but no recognition of the event at the table
Really good food and service. A couple of minor points - the restaurant week lunch menu was really awful, but we were allowed to order from the dinner menu which was much better. If you will have your waiters fileting fish at the table, then perhaps they should have more experience in doing so. Other than that - the fish was excellent as were the dips and salad. Will definitely go again....
We will be back. Our first time at Limani and not our last.
We brought friends to join us in the Limani experience. They had dined here many years ago, and they were happy to return. We always enjoy the seafood tower, ahi tuna, and of course the Bronzino. By the end of the evening our friends stated that they don't know why they waited so long to come back. As always the experience was wonderful, with attentive wait staff and exceptionally fresh seafood.
Great restaurant, fresh seafood , loved the oysters selection, superb service definitely will come back !!!
Upscale New York style restaurant in the heart of Westfield NJ...Outstanding quality, great menu selection and fairly priced.
Great and very fresh sea food. Excellent spot!i wil come back
I’ve been to this Resturant many time before and the food is always excellent! Great selection of fish, a bit on the expensive side but It shows through the high quality and presentation. The only problem with this place is the ability to hold a reservation (reminds me of that Seinfeld episode). We had a reservation for 8:00 and weren’t seated until 8:30.
Great service, fresh seafood deliciously prepared, usually a little too crowded seating but so worth dining at Limani!
Great food, great atmosphere.
The app did not go through to the restaurant and they did not have the reservation for our Valentines evening . They seated us anyway, but we had to wait a half hour. I appreciate the effort they gave to find us a seat, despite the snafu. We however, waited an hour and a half to be waited on, and that was too long. I finished my wine (byob) before the food came out. It was crowded, and some of that is just because everyone wanted to be there for the holiday. Still, the waitress was more attentive to some patrons more than others, and it was noticeable. The food was good, but the grilled shrimp I ordered was cold and rubbery by the time it got to me. It’s ok, i’ve had worse. I’m sure it’s difficult to do food service on a Valentines night, especially when the system doesn’t log all the open table reservations.
Always reliable fresh seafood, well-prepared in downtown Westifield. George is a gracious host. Valentine's Day so the place was packed and service was a little slow, but the quality did not suffer a bit. Also, the noise level is usually a problem in the main dining room but it wasn't this time - did they change something? Good value.
I was very pleased with the food, service, and friendliness of the staff.I will highly recommend Limani's.You will see my wife and I again.
Took my wife there for a pre- valentine dinner. The octopus salad we had as an appetizer was good but not great. It was a little over spiced such that the natural flavor of octopus was overwhelmed by the spices. However, the halibut special and the scallop with figs we had as entrees were wonderful. The halibut was cooked perfectly and sitting in a sauce that infused it with flavors that were heavenly. My wife’s grilled scallop dish offered a unique take on the dish. On top of that our server, Debbie, was a joy as well as attentive to our every need.
The food quality is just impeccable. The service is better than being in your own home. No one takes care of quite like Chef George, the owner and his wife Vasilia. They are really special.
Limani never disappoints; always a reliable place for sea food in Westfield. My swordfish entree was excellent, and my companion enjoyed her lobster.
Always love coming to Limani and tonight really enjoyable.Fresh and beautifully prepared fish, nice salads and yummy dessert. Will be back soon.
The extended part of the restaurant is great!
Fresh, welcoming and a good setting, how can you ask for anything more.
First time dining at this restaurant and definetely won't be the last. Food was great, staff was friendly. Looking forward to out next night out there.
Limani never disappoints. Service is top notch. The expanded seating allows for more street watching. The owner remembered our favorite table even though it had been 2 months since last visit.
We saw a segment on a TV program about this place and decided to check it out. It did not disappoint and in some ways exceeded expectations. First, the welcome was authentic and genuine. Next, the food, from the complimentary bread and olive oil to the grilled branzino entrees we ordered, was all delicious. There were no flaws, no shortcomings. The service was attentive and conversational in an unforced and genuine manner. I believed that they wanted us to have a flawless experience. The deserts were okay, but I would not rave about them, nor deduct anything as a result of them. In sum, we would definitely return.
We dine here regularly for birthdays, anniversaries, mother's and father's days and no special occasion at all.
We've just began our tenth year of dining here since George took over the place and reopened as Limani Seafood grill.
It is well worth the drive from Maplewood.
Every dinner is a delight and we have NEVER BEEN disappointed.
Great food, great service, terrific appetizers and deserts assure that you will always totally enjoy your meal. That's why we have dined here regularly for ten years!!!
Fantastic as usual. The food was delicious, service top-notch, and you are always great by a warm staff.
Love going to Limani! We started out with calamari which was very tender. My husband had the blackened swordfish which he
enjoyed very much! I had the whole branzino which was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed my leftovers the next night for dinner!
The service as usual was excellent!
We are regulars because thwy know how to do gish and seafood. Brought friends for their first experience. They couldn't stop raving about how good everything was.
Always the best seafood anywhere. Never fails to be an outstanding meal.
ordered a salad and asked if grilled fish could be added was told yes as the page for grilled fish dinners was hidden by the days specials. waiter neglected to inform us that we would be charge for a full dinner plus an additional charge for substituting the salad (main course) for the side vegetable that the grilled fish came with. a salad with 6 grilled shrimp was $40! Outrageous! when the owner was informed he could have cared less blamed the waiter for not informing and we were told that they do not do salad with grilled fish for dinner that is a "lunch" item. Not returning.
Great birthday celebration dining with family, enjoying our seafood favorites. Grilled Bronzino Mediterranean style is the absolute best. A crispy skin with delicate flavored fish inside. Lemon and capers are always a great flavor boost. Ahi tuna seared rare is another family favorite. The flesh is ruby red and buttery soft. Not adventurous, try the grilled salmon, always cooked to perfection with great veggie sides. Our family loves the fish tacos but I lean towards the steamed Ipswich clams, in sherry broth, when they are in season. No matter what you choose, the food is fabulous and fresh. The service is thoughtful and accommodating. BYO favorite wine and dine like a king.
Nice and friendly for a family and food sharing. The fresh fish was great!
