Limani Seafood Grill Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been to this Resturant many time before and the food is always excellent! Great selection of fish, a bit on the expensive side but It shows through the high quality and presentation. The only problem with this place is the ability to hold a reservation (reminds me of that Seinfeld episode). We had a reservation for 8:00 and weren’t seated until 8:30.
The app did not go through to the restaurant and they did not have the reservation for our Valentines evening . They seated us anyway, but we had to wait a half hour. I appreciate the effort they gave to find us a seat, despite the snafu. We however, waited an hour and a half to be waited on, and that was too long. I finished my wine (byob) before the food came out. It was crowded, and some of that is just because everyone wanted to be there for the holiday. Still, the waitress was more attentive to some patrons more than others, and it was noticeable. The food was good, but the grilled shrimp I ordered was cold and rubbery by the time it got to me. It’s ok, i’ve had worse. I’m sure it’s difficult to do food service on a Valentines night, especially when the system doesn’t log all the open table reservations.
Always reliable fresh seafood, well-prepared in downtown Westifield. George is a gracious host. Valentine's Day so the place was packed and service was a little slow, but the quality did not suffer a bit. Also, the noise level is usually a problem in the main dining room but it wasn't this time - did they change something? Good value.
Took my wife there for a pre- valentine dinner. The octopus salad we had as an appetizer was good but not great. It was a little over spiced such that the natural flavor of octopus was overwhelmed by the spices. However, the halibut special and the scallop with figs we had as entrees were wonderful. The halibut was cooked perfectly and sitting in a sauce that infused it with flavors that were heavenly. My wife’s grilled scallop dish offered a unique take on the dish. On top of that our server, Debbie, was a joy as well as attentive to our every need.
We saw a segment on a TV program about this place and decided to check it out. It did not disappoint and in some ways exceeded expectations. First, the welcome was authentic and genuine. Next, the food, from the complimentary bread and olive oil to the grilled branzino entrees we ordered, was all delicious. There were no flaws, no shortcomings. The service was attentive and conversational in an unforced and genuine manner. I believed that they wanted us to have a flawless experience. The deserts were okay, but I would not rave about them, nor deduct anything as a result of them. In sum, we would definitely return.
We dine here regularly for birthdays, anniversaries, mother's and father's days and no special occasion at all.
We've just began our tenth year of dining here since George took over the place and reopened as Limani Seafood grill.
It is well worth the drive from Maplewood.
Every dinner is a delight and we have NEVER BEEN disappointed.
Great food, great service, terrific appetizers and deserts assure that you will always totally enjoy your meal. That's why we have dined here regularly for ten years!!!
ordered a salad and asked if grilled fish could be added was told yes as the page for grilled fish dinners was hidden by the days specials. waiter neglected to inform us that we would be charge for a full dinner plus an additional charge for substituting the salad (main course) for the side vegetable that the grilled fish came with. a salad with 6 grilled shrimp was $40! Outrageous! when the owner was informed he could have cared less blamed the waiter for not informing and we were told that they do not do salad with grilled fish for dinner that is a "lunch" item. Not returning.
Great birthday celebration dining with family, enjoying our seafood favorites. Grilled Bronzino Mediterranean style is the absolute best. A crispy skin with delicate flavored fish inside. Lemon and capers are always a great flavor boost. Ahi tuna seared rare is another family favorite. The flesh is ruby red and buttery soft. Not adventurous, try the grilled salmon, always cooked to perfection with great veggie sides. Our family loves the fish tacos but I lean towards the steamed Ipswich clams, in sherry broth, when they are in season. No matter what you choose, the food is fabulous and fresh. The service is thoughtful and accommodating. BYO favorite wine and dine like a king.
Have been to Limani frequently and never left disappointed until this week . Service was excellent , but entree (special shrimp dish) very average. Five very average size shrimp over cooked. Rice and beans accompanied the shrimp. A green vegetable would have been preferred. Prices seem to have increased as well. Don’t think I’ll be returning soon.
Tonight I was prepared to enjoy my much needed Bronzino fix. The whole grilled fish presented in a Mediterranean sauce, is my all time favorite. With a crispy outer skin and mild tasting flesh, this entree is a must try. Starters of chilled oysters and a Mediterranean salad, were wonderful. The scallop special with figs was a winner as well, with great winter flavors. BYO is a great option at Limani. So bring your favorite wine and enjoy a great seafood evening.
Always an enjoyable night. Friendly, helpful servers, great food, and a nice ambience at this downtown storefront. A raw bar in addition to Greek accented dishes coming from the kitchen, specializing in seafood. There are a few terrestrial selections offered along with a multi-course menu which is available during the week I believe. BYO
Limani has been a favorite of ours for years. Our latest visit was for New Year's Eve which is one of this venue's busiest dinner services. This also was our first NYE at Limani since they opened the second dining room, doubling their seating capacity without an increase in kitchen size. We had some concerns that handling nearly 500 covers over three services would affect quality and service. Those concerns were unfounded. Service was attentive and food quality was excellent.
Kudos to George, his family and staff for being able to keep up with the demand.
