Service from kitchen ridiculously slow
Quiet, neighborhood restaurant. Good menu, high quality food. Time from order to serving was a bit long, but I think it is because the food is prepared fresh. Owners and most of patrons seemed to know each other.
Small plate Wednesday is such a Terrific value and the Best secret in Town. Kathy Cary continues to impress me in my golden years as she did when I was a student in undergrad. I now get to enjoy her Greeting me at dinner. Soon after we sat down, we received complimentary fries with Green Goddess sauce! (Hint, hint Royals Chicken.) Nice touch! We thoroughly enjoyed the mussels, the chicken kabobs, split a Tijuana Caesar salad, always enjoy the fried oysters, and fried green tomatoes. We also had fruity mocktails which were absolutely delicious! Had enough room for the Heavenly carrot cake and then got it packed to go. Loved our server. He knew when to stop me from ordering too much. Now that is an Expert! (Plus he made me laugh.) Still had leftovers for a nice lunch and lots of dessert.
We always have a lovely time at Lilly’s. Great food, impeccable service and a true neighborhood gem.
Great drinks and food, and also great service! A perfect evening for our anniversary night out!
Lilly's always delivers a great dining experience.
Great place.. My wife and I enjoyed the appetizers, the entre's and the service was fantastic. Even the music was perfect.
Birthday celebrations are always special at Lily’s. The food was amazing, the wait staff genuine and knowledgeable including a phenomenal wine recommendation, and the atmosphere was cozy and intimate. I look forward to any excuse to celebrate at Lily’s.
The squash soup was to die for! Interesting selection of entrees and uniquely prepared. Since they were not crowded, we had excellent service.
Excellent food, had the flat iron steak. It was perfect. Wifey had scallops l, also excellent.
We enjoyed dinner at Lilly's before seeing Hamilton. What a great evening! The fish was cooked to perfection. I love the bits of fresh green vegetables. The kale was a nice touch. Our service was friendly and answered questions thoroughly.
Had a lunch with a friend I had not seen in a long time, and we both like dining that’s on the upscale side. Lily’s is a beautiful restaurant that leaves you feeling that you haven’t even been in Louisville. Our food was stellar, and our waiter had the perfect balance of attentiveness and professionalism.
Lilly's is mine and my husband's go to date spot. It's pricey so we only go for special occasions but we're never disappointed in service or food quality. So delicious!
The food was very good and the server was attentive. I had the soup and a salad. As a vegetarian, I did not have many options to choose from. The one thing that stood out was the choice of music. As much as I love 80's music, it just seemed out of place and altered the fine dining experience I was expecting. I would have preferred something a little more calm and soothing. Hearing Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It" while experiencing a bottle of wine and delicious bread was kind of strange.
Went to celebrate our Daughter's HS graduation. Extremely nice atmosphere and true fine dining. Enjoyed it very much!
We grew up in Louisville, and now live in Florida. We visit for a week every year and always make Lilly’s one of our choices. It is always excellent....cozy environment, creative, wonderful food, and great service. See you next year!
Everything was perfect. This small place was very charming.
Outstanding food. The special was amazing and unlike anything I've ever tasted.
Kathy was there when I arrived with a cat bide wound and it helped . everyone did. We did miss Edward but hope he's recovering.
Always love going to Lilly's. Excellent food and awesome staff. Couldn't ask for a nicer dining experience.
I used to live behind Lilly's and it became my favorite restaurant and still is. My meal was delicious and my server Shane was excellent, ever helpful and present but not overbearing. I felt special and had such a great time. Thank you Shane, Thank you Cathy and Thank you Lilly's staff!
really great meal, albeit a bit expensive. but that might be the price to pay for a 'really great meal'.
two-tops were REALLY close together - as in too close - i mean, we're not in Manhattan. it kind of ruined it for us. but the food was superb, and the service was special.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Lilly's! We lived in Louisville in the early 1990's and had dinner at Lilly's on our 3rd Anniversary in 1993. While visiting Louisville this past weekend we were thrilled to see it was still open in the same location. The food was outstanding, service terrific, just as we remember from all those years ago. Thank you Lilly's for being there and for providing us with another memorable dining experience!!
My wife and I went for dinner for her birthday, the food is outstanding
My husband calls Kathy Carey our national treasure. He's right!
We have always had very good meals at Lily’s. But tonight it was truly exceptional. Fried Oysters, Bibb Salad, Pork Carnitas, Lamb 3-ways...wow
We had a fabulous post-Derby dinner at Lilley’s, The staff we’re fantastic!
Even though we were an hour late, due to the Kentucky Derby, they still were able to accommodate us! It was a 4 course dinner and everything was delicious!
We were charged a $100 per person fee due to the busy weekend and an automatic 20% tip which was also added onto the $100 fee. The service was well worth the 20% but it was egregious to add it to the fee.
We celebrated our birthdays (one day apart) at Lilly’s for lunch. Food was great and the service was excellent. There is parking available, which is huge for the Highlands. Lilly’s is one of our favorite restaurants.
Excellent food, outstanding service!
Everything was excellent! Loved the Prawns and Grits
Wonderful again! We come for our anniversary 15 of the past 18 years. We love this place and it is ALWAYS wonderful!
This was a high quality experience from arrival to departure.
We were greeted warmly and shown to our table promptly. Menus, water, and the offer of more drinks while we pondered was delivered by a friendly and professional waiter.
The menu is quite minimalist, but I think most people will find something to suit their needs.
The relatively small number of options clearly allowed the kitchen to focus on the quality of the food; delicious!
Good range of soft and alcohol.
Service checks were appropriately spaced and there was always a member of staff on the floor.
It's not cheap, but it is really good. I felt like a valued customer, and would return.
I belive this would be suitable for friends, couples and business people.
Friday lunch! Always a good choice.
The crane brûlée wasn’t very good. Very pudding-like. Enjoyed our other food.
Wonderful as always!!
Jeff is one of our favorite servers in town, and Lilly's is one of our favorite places. We had out of town visitors, and none of us were disappointed.
