Wonderful dinner for my birthday and a family anniversary. Service was phenomenal. Ambiance is perfect. Everyone was very understanding when we were almost 30 minutes late for our reservation. Lovely night all around!

Staff is very responsive (we called when we were running late and they adjusted our reservation accordingly). I'm a "small plates" fan, so i enjoyed the beets and the shrimp (delicious) plus a salad. Perfect portion sizes

We were so disappointed in our service and meal. This restaurant used to be my favorite. We had to send back an over done entree as well as a soup. So disappointing, it used to be so good. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

I was visiting New Orleans and booked Lilette through Open Table on a referral from a friend. When we arrived, the hostess was standing at her hostess stand, and I actually had to greet her before she greeted me. Not what you would expect from a hostess.

She basically told us our table was ready, and it was going to be outside. But I knew I really didn't want to sit outside because I was wearing a jacket, and it was 55 degrees. But she assured us it would be fine because she would sit us near a heater.

After we were seated outside, I quickly realized, and thought to myself, I didn't want to pay their prices to sit under a heater, at a picnic table, with my jacket on...i wanted to be inside where it was warm, with the white table cloths, and ambiance (because, you know, I was going to pay good money, just like the people inside.)

So I went inside and very politely told the very same hostess that we really would prefer to be seated inside (because, you know, it's warmer). She said, "I have a table for you, and some people love it and some people hate it." Verbatim. And you guessed it, it was in the back of the restaurant, near the kitchen doors.

I did not know what I did to this hostess to be treated this way. I wanted to walk out, but my friend talked me into staying.

Worse yet, I paid 34 bucks for two lukewarm pieces of cod on cold couscous. I would have thought being so close to the kitchen, we wouldn't have to worry about food temperature.

Bottom line, bring a coat... everything about that place is cold.

I cannot say enough things about how lovely our server, Tracy, was and how delightfully knowledgeable our sommelier, Johnny, was. We come to New Orleans often and this was, by far, our best meal in a city full of amazing restaurants. From the ambience, to the food, and the service, everything was spot on. Very romantic, yet approachable. You will not regret your visit to Lilette. We look forward to coming again.

Really perfect place for 3 women friends to get together for lunch. Even though we ate a soup and appetizer apiece (i.e., no actual entrees) we felt fine staying and talking.

Great meal. Super nice place. Always one of our favorites. Not the most accommodating about table selection in a mostly empty restaurant, but that's a small thing compared to the overall experience.

I booked a table for two and indicated in the notes that it was a special occasion. Usually restaurants acknowledge that in some way, even if only saying congratulations; they did not. Not a big deal, but then they put us in a long cafeteria style table in the middle of the restaurant, with about three inches of space between our table and the four top next to us. Again, I was surprised that two people on a special celebration were crammed into the middle of a loud dining room.
The food is okay, but the portions are ridiculously small. Not worth the price. I didn't take a picture of the smallest duck breast I have ever seen, but it was served with two pieces of cauliflower and a shot glass sized portion of spinach, that honestly tasted like canned spinach. It was the first time I left a restaurant still a little hungry after a three course meal.
The service was good. Our server checked on us throughout and kept our beverages filled. Overall, while not a terrible experience, I was disappointed. There are much better restaurants in NOLA.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the patio area which was very private. The wait staff, Zack and Bobby were very attentive and the sashimi tuna special was perfectly prepared. Would recommend the poached pear dessert

Lilette is well established as a great neighborhood restaurant right up their with Gautreaux's, Clancy's, etc. Women especially like its atmosphere and the light food options. It's not so much a guy's place, but the food is always excellent.

We put in our order when we first sat down. 30 minutes later our actual waiter came to take our order and said the first guy never put in our order. Bad impression. We were hungry. I ordered the wedding soup, and it had no salt no flavoring and was very very bland. The lamb gnocchi and crudo were amazing though.

This is a perfect French bistro meal, well prepared, beautifully played, and simply delicious. The Muscovy duck was a treat. The wine by the glass was better than most restaurants offer. The chocolate mousse with scoop of grapefruit sorbet was a great pairing and with some delicious coffee , a wonderful ending to a delicious meal. Don't pass up a chance to enjoy this bistro.

Food and selection were great. The waiter was a little absent and not terribly friendly. When she poured the wine, the fill was smaller than I ever have seen and it was not cheap either. I would have expected more. Food taste was great.

I made a reservation for 1. When the restaurant called to confirm I was asked if I would like patio seating to which I told them I would. When I showed up I felt like a huge inconvenience for being a party of 1 and was asked to just sit at the bar. I ordered the pasta and duck appetizers. The pasta was amazing, the duck was extremely salty and overcooked.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed by Lilette. I made the reservation in hopes for a romantic evening with excellent food and wine. Right from the start some of the staff came off as pretentious and made us feel as though were were a burden. The escargot was absolutely the worst I have ever had. For the main course, My wife and I had the Wagyu beef special, it was good but slightly oversalted and overall uninspired. With the amazing variety of options in New Orleans, I would not recommend anyone waste their time here.

Lilette is consistent and always very good. I go to lunch when in town 2-3 times a year for probably 20 years. The menu does not vary much. Escargot are first rate . Black drum is always excellent. Heart of palm salad and Italian wedding soup are favorites. There is good wine by the glass. Also there are excellent desserts, ice creams and after dinner drinks .
A favorite place for us

Wonderful experience on the patio! Such a beautiful fall day with sweet olive blossoms raining down enjoying a delightful Champagne. Quintessential New Orleans Garden District dining. Food was perfect, I would not change a thing. Ended with a sweet Happy Birthday dessert. Many thanks to the staff who were very attentive and lovely. Don't miss Lilette!

Happy the shoshito peppers are still on the menu. The special was sole, which we don't often see on the menu here since it's not a local fish.
Parking can be a problem since this restaurant no longer has access to the lot across the street.
Wine is on the high end cost/wise

Have eaten here a lot and this lunch just wasn't up to past meals. The sizzling shrimp were not sizzling. The whole fish was not cooked well. Kind of under cooked. The waitress seemed to be the only waitress for the lunch crowd. The hamburger and fries were good.

I dined at Lilette with a visiting colleague, electing to sit outside at the tables along the side street that borders the restaurant. It's much quieter there than in the restaurant, where the tile floor and tin ceiling raise the noise level and make quiet conversation a challenge. The service was excellent - beside being outside the main dining room, we never felt forgotten or neglected The food was excellent, from the tuna crudo starter we shared to the our main dishes. It was a really great experience - my colleague from out of town was very impressed, and so was I.

Lilette remains one of my favorite New Orleans restaurants. However, it’s important to go in with the right expectations. I don’t think there’s better food to be had in New Orleans, and the size of Lilette is just right. But the best tables, on the perimeter and against the windows, are designed for four, so while the atmosphere is otherwise very romantic, all the two-top tables are in the middle of the restaurant in a long line and very close to one another, so there’s little privacy. The booths on the outside are lovely and very comfortable but are hard to come by.
There’s a sense at Lilette that patrons want to linger, but it can come across as very slow service (dinner for two really shouldn’t take two and a half hours). At the two hour mark we had dessert served and waited another 10 minutes while they made coffee. Our server made few appearances all night, so service was just off. I like to think of Lilette as a special occasion restaurant, but they do a much better job with groups of four or more.
