Lilette Ratings and Reviews
Consistently elegant food, service, and quality. The crudo of the day is not to be missed and the same is true for the lobster appetizer. The spiced-drum entree never fails to please. The wine selection by the glass is awesome, especially when paired to complement your meal.
My wife and I again went back to Lilette. She started with the beet salad, warm, and delicious. She followed with the Italian wedding soup, and the a beautifully cooked drum. I started with escargot and mushrooms, followed by the sweetbreads, cooked to perfection. Last I had the hangar steak, cooked well, but I will not order a hangar steak again. Just a drawback of the cut I believe. The bread could be better. Good service.
Lilette has always been one of our favorite places! Yesterday proved why we love Lilette and the reason we pick it for the rare date lunches we have. 2 words summarize our experiences — consistent and personal. Louis is such a great manager! He is always walking the restaurant, talking to the patrons, and making sure everyone is happy. My son lost his first tooth in the Kobe burger (in 2009!) and Louis always treats us as family. My wife broke her leg and everyone went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and enjoying her only outing for the week. Food is spot on! We love it and anyone that visits New Orleans should venture out of the tourist district to come here. You won’t regret it!
Lilette is trying to crowd too many people into this small establishment. Even with our reservation, we had to wait for about 45 minutes. And, Lilette has no where to wait. There is a bar area, but it was full. Some people were eating there. Others waiting.
We were even told that, "you cannot block the entry". So, we had to go outside or go to the bar
next door. Really. We almost left. When we did get seated, we were so close to the next table that
it was uncomfortable.
The food is pricey, but good. The sad part is that after waiting to be seated for so long, it got late, and they obviously wanted to close. So, all in all not a great experience. We weren't finished with our meal, and I mentioned to my dining partner that i would check on something, and all at once the "check" appeared. That's how small this place is. If you can come here when it isn't busy and get a booth, you will be fine. If you cannot, I would go somewhere else.
I hadn't been to Lilette in several years and I am disappointed in that after eating there this week. I have always had great meals and service here but have been distracted with other places in the city. Took 4 guests and we all had different entrees and appetizers and everything was amazing, as I remembered. Service was exceptional with great wine paring recommendations and the space is just a beautiful as always. Highly recommend this spot for any night and any occasion.
The restaurant was small but very cozy. The food was fabulous! I had the escargot, sun choke soup and braised lamb with homemade gnocchi! My husband had pasta, brussels sprout, duck fried potatoes and a 16 oz Wagyu Sirloin steak. We both loved our meals! Every single dish was cooked to perfection! We will be back!
