Went there on New Years Eve.
We had reservations for 2 on New Year's eve. The ambiance was the perfect way to start the evening.
The restaurant was full but not overly crowded and noisy.
We had a lovely table, large enough for 4, and our waitress "spoiled" us.
We shared a lollipop lamb appetizer which was delicious. For dinner, I had the filet oscar (bernaise on the side) and my husband had the prime rib. Both very good.
We will definitely be back.
We recently went to celebrate an anniversary and took advantage of their $69 couples special. My wife had flank steak and I had the salmon. Both were excellent. Our server was very attentive and delivered free champagne in honor of our occasion. It was already dark outside so we missed the waterfront view but that was okay. Some background music would have been nice. Overall a very nice night.
We eat here all the time. The food is always delicious and the views are spectacular. A nice option.
Nice restaurant. We had a window view of Ocean City skyline; however, it was dark and only saw the lights. The food is delicious. We started off with a choice of soup or salad. For the main entrée, My wife had the crabcake with their au gratin potatoes and asparagus. I had the flat iron steak cooked to perfection and also had the au gratin potatoes and asparagus. We shared the cheesecake for dessert and it was also good with a raspberry topping. This was a two can dine for $69 deal and we also had a bottle of wine included with the meal. We went with another couple and enjoyed the fact that we were not rushed through dinner.
Excellent food ambience service and company
We got married there 5 years ago and went for our anniversary dinner this weekend. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing! Everything was timed perfectly and the food was hot. Beautiful water views! We will definitely be back again!
We went on Thanksgiving and had a reservation. The buffet was not kept replenished and ran out of some items before the closing time. The kitchen might have been disorganized.
Beautiful ambience, good food, excellent service. We enjoyed our meals, mine was the best, the chef special of porkchop with apple balsamic reduction -- yummy.
Wine list needs work. The only pino griego they offer is no something i would buy.
Overall experience was very nice, the food was good , service was wonderful, very relaxing.
Great dinner overlooking a beautiful golf course.
Prices were reasonable for country club dining. The restaurant was very nicely appointed. Service was excellent. Food was terrific!
Crab cakes were very good, true lump crabmeat! The filet was super tender, and the au gratin potatoes were out of this world.
We will be back!
Enjoyed another good meal at a beautiful setting in Ocean City area. Our favorite!
Food was very cold. Our server was nice but seemed very out of it. Beautiful view but eat before you go!
Shelly the hostess was amazing!! Can’t wait to return!!!
Our server was amazing. So kind to our son, giving him pretzels when he said his stomach was bothering him. The view of the back bay was beautiful. However, the food was fair at best. Very bland. We chose this restaurant based on its ratings on Open Table. It was not worth the amount we spent for dinner.
Grits were like glue, omelet was way overcooked, the eggs Benedict were delicious, drinks were good. They just need to tuneup the kitchen and they will get more stars. All in all we had a great time.
The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Andrew our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the entire time.
Food was excellent. Our server Stephen was very good and made great recommendations. Beautiful view of the bay.
Excellent. Magnificient vue and affordable. Gréât place.
This was a perfect setting for a fine dining family get together. The setting was jaw dropping with the nighttime skyline of Ocean City, MD. The service was attentive and helpful. Menu was small which always means everything is excellent and it was!
Beautiful place with a georgeous scenic view.
Service was very well done by Andrew, and the food was excellent with a nice variety.
☆☆☆☆☆'S ALL THE WAY!
GREAT FOOD,FRESH SALAD, DELICIOUS CHOICE MEATS & SEAFOOD! AWESOME DRINKS!
OUR SERVICE WAS IMPECCABLE!
SILVIA WAS VERY PLEASENT! HER SUGGESTION WERE ON THE MONEY! WILL RETURN WHEN IN OCEAN CITY,MD
Great setting, great food & service.
Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and the service.
We enjoyed our dinner at Lighthouse Sound. The ambiance and especially the beautiful view of the bay are the best aspects of Lighthouse Sound. The food was good, but not creative. There was no food at Lighthouse Sound that could not be found anywhere else in the area. My crab cake was good and my husband’s pasta dish was pleasing. The restaurant had no problem accommodating modifications to the menu. Andrew, our server, did a good job, and was very attentive.
We will certainly dine at Lighthouse Sound again..
Good food and great service. My daughter had her marriage / reception at Lighthouse in 2006. Was great then and now.
Nice views of the bay looking back toward Ocean City. Wait staff was attentive. The meal was well paced. Ahi tuna was nicely prepared, house salad was good with additions of fruit in the mix. Seafood pasta was nicely prepared-a good portion size but light, not heavy. Grilled flank steak came out medium rare as order and the au gratin potatoes were nice. A nice evening out off the beaten path, will be back
We found this place on opentable and it looked beautiful. Our reservation was for 8, we arrived at 7:45. In inlcuding us, there were 3 parties in the dining room- of which who seemed to be at the dessert level of their meal. That table got service. We had a lovely waitress who brought us drinks and a bread basket. We propmtly ordered 2 steaks and sat there for 50 minutes before the waitress ever returned. We made eye contact, but after 40 minutes she seeemed to be avoidant. The hostess stopped to talk to the table behind us, but never came to our table. 10 minutes later, our waitress returned saying "you probably heard from my manager- the bar is backed up and we are behind on your order. it should be another 10 minutes." We got steaks. And there were 2 parties in the dining room -total. We asked for the bill and left- without steaks. I read other reviews online where they make excuses for their service- new staff, kitchen issues, etc...it seems like this place only caters to their golf club members. It's a shame, beautiful location. We only had drinks and bread- both which were just ok.
Every time we go (3 times) we have a great time. Waiter is nice and efficient.
Three of the four of us really enjoyed our entree, but the other person had Jerk Chicken and it was very very dry. Good desserts, very pleasant server. WIll go again.
Fabulous food, friendly staff and spectacular view!
This is a beautiful place, so go for a drink and a photo op. Food was very disappointing, sad to say. No salmon despite it being on the standard menu and the only green vegetable option was asparagus. Starches aplenty so corn on the cob as vegetable du jour a poor choice. Sincerely hope they get their act together in the kitchen, rethink and rework their dinner menu and refrain from presenting such an unappetizing dessert tray. Perhaps lunch would be better!
Never disappointed! Year after year when we visit the shore we include the Lighthouse Sound as one of our dinner stops.
View is beautiful but doesn't make up for....ordered Seafood pasta that came with shrimp, scallops, crab. The crab was a garnish not part of the meal and very little of that like sprinkled flakes on top. Not what I was expecting for $29. Shrimp and scallops were fine. We ordered mussels as an appetizer and 7!!! out of the dish were closed!! The waiter said he would check with the manager but nothing was done. It shouldn't have left the kitchen with 7 closed mussels. Crabcake dinner was fine, chicken piccata dinner was fine. Dessert was fine. Only 2 wait staff for whole dining room...our waiter not bad overall but I think too inexperienced for the tables he had and for fine dining. The other wait person we have had before and is much more seasoned. We will return but was dissapointed with the appetizer and entree.
First time here. This restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and the staff are super nice. My family and I stayed past closing, we had to sit outside just to enjoy the weather and scenery. The food was great and so was the service! Will definitely plan to stop by on our next outing to Ocean City.
Lighthouse Sound is an absolute gem outside of bustling Ocean City, Maryland. I do not typically write reviews, but I feel that Shellie, the general manager, and her staff wholeheartedly deserve one.
To begin, my friends and I traveled from Pennsylvania to Ocean City, Maryland for a bachelorette weekend. The bride had requested a fancy dining experience on Saturday night, so I took charge of searching for one that day. I lived in NYC for years, thus making me a big fan of OpenTable. Immediately, I started looking through reviews for dinging experiences in the area, and I happened upon the Lighthouse Sound. The pictures were gorgeous, and the reviews were positive. I easily made a reservation for six guests at 7:30pm that evening.
On a side note, I would like to make a comment on the negative reviews left for this restaurant. If you look at the dates for most of the complaints, a lot of them fall on very, very busy holiday weekends. People, what do you expect? I am sure the staff worked their hardest to make sure all customers were happily accommodated. I ignored all of those reviews, and I am so happy I did.
Anyway, I called the restaurant a few hours before our dinner time to give them a heads up about the occasion. The young woman who picked up was very nice, so much so that when we lost connection, she instantly called me back. Not many businesses will do that, so I was impressed.
We arrived ahead of our reservation time by 15 minutes, so our table was still being set up. We did not mind at all since it gave us an opportunity to step out on the patio and see the water. Once our table was ready, we all sat down at a round table with a great spot in the room. The food was amazing (the salmon was superb), the views were breathtaking, and the staff was attentive. Shellie came to check on us and was so gracious. She even lit the fire pit for us after dinner!
The bride was thrilled, so dinner was a success! Thank you so much for a memorable experience!
Everything was perfect except for the weather!
We had the 2 can dine for $69 and the salmon & filet were delicious. We wanted the flat iron steak but it was sold out. Our waitress & overall experience was excellent. The rain subsidized so we were able to have an after dinner drink on the patio with the spectacular views. We will be back!
We have been to Lighthouse Sound several times. Every time was enjoyable. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and the ambiance is exceptional. The view of the sound and golf course is awesome. Sylvia was our waitress every visit and her service and personality are 5 stars. We will definitely return.
Wonderful, another enjoyable meal with excellent service from our waiter Stephen.
