About Lighthouse Grill
This graceful Victorian dining room enjoys timeless views of the Edgartown Lighthouse and Harbor. Lighthouse Grill features Chef Shaun Brian Sells’s distinctive Vineyard cuisine. Chef Sells sources the freshest island produce, meats and poultry from established island farms including Allen, Morning Glory and Whipporwill as well as line-caught and day boat seafood from local fishermen for our prominent Edgartown restaurant. Chef prepares the food in a contemporary New England style to enhance the freshness and emphasize the unique flavors of the local ingredients. The Lighthouse Grill menu is designed to be flexible. Adventurous diners may choose to share and explore several of the Vineyard Small Plates or for those who wish to dine in a more traditional manner, full-size entrees are offered at our Martha’s Vineyard restaurant as well.

Lighthouse Grill Ratings and Reviews
We read that Sunday Brunch at the Harborview was great. We’ve been for dinner a couple of times in the past and loved it. So, we went yesterday to give the Brunch a try.
The food was very good, but the service at the buffet left A LOT to be desired. When we went up there were no Eggs Benedict in the chafing dish, there was no bacon, and there were no waffles. We could have potatoes, sausage, and/or wait to have eggs prepared and beef sliced. There was only one person at the cooking/carving station, which meant there was a bit of a wait.
The quality of the food was very good.
The $28/head price is about what I’d expect. There were fewer choices at the buffet than I expected, though.
The view of the lighthouse, the harbor, and Chappy is second to non, of course.
Overall I was a bit disappointed, but maybe my expectations were too high. We’ll likely return during the high season in case things are in fuller swing then.
Was looking forward to a great cowboy steak on a special night. The reservations confirmed by you and even a couple of reminder e-mails. Got dressed aririved early but the restaurant was CLOSED. For the season. I we were very disappointed. I thought American Express should have been on top of this. This is the 2nd time out of 4 that open table has let us down. Re thinking my use of the service.
This restaurant has not been great in past but I heard there was new chef so we gave it a try. It was absolutely great! We had the tuna with grains and mushrooms - absolutely delicious. One of the diners in the party had truffle fries which were also great,
The food, view and service were outstanding. It was the first time we had been to the restaurant all summer and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. The views of the Edgartown Lighthouse and Chappy were spectacular!
We had an incredibly attentive and helpful server who was knowledgeable about the food and wine.
We would highly recommend going!
I ate there three times twice in one day, breakfast was a little slow , management was very aware of are issue and offered us to use there food bar for free until we got are breakfast that was ordered. That night for dinner they greeted us and apologize to us for the wait we had for breakfast Great come back service and had one of their best staff wait on us all night. Great!
We went to the Lighthouse Grill to celebrate our friend's birthday with her family while on vacation. While we were a larger group, there was some difficulty with servicing the large group. The food was delicious but the time that it took was a bit long.
One other item was that the wine list was limited. We were looking for reds, Cabernet in particular, and while most of the wines were reasonably priced, the only wines in this variety started at $250 a bottle. It was problematic.
We made a Sunday reservation for breakfast and were disappointed to find out when we arrived that our only option was a $28 pp buffet. I am not a fan of buffets at all & was disappointed that it didn't notify me on open table when I was making the reservation. At the point when we got there & found out we didn't have another option and had to stay. The food was all very good, very high quality but the buffet wasn't huge considering the price. I'd go back for regular breakfast but not the buffet. Harbor view should clarify on their website that Sunday mornings are buffet only.
I had read this restaurant had a new chef and they had pastured meat. I always look for farm to table restaurants. I thought the food was very good. The Filet was delicious. The vegetables that went with it were prepared nicely. The only thing I was disappointed with was the lobster tail that I got to go with the filet. It was okay, but very small and I would rather have it served with drawn butter than grilled. It was salty and not that great. My husband really enjoyed his clam chowder. He also liked the scallop special. It was nice because was not full even on a Saturday night (this was Sept. 28th). It was dark so we couldn't enjoy the view. The only issue I had was that it was quit chilly inside. I heard another table mention that to the server.
We came for brunch and the food selection was good for the price we paid but it was not great, particularly because they run out of dessert options at the point we finish our meal and they offer something else but we could not taste any of the things they offered when we arrived and it was still 1.5 hours to finish brunch time. Service was great but we were very surprised to see people so disrespectful and uneducated at the dining room; people from the table next to ours moved their dirty dishes to our table when we got up to bring food for us. So we came back and 2 dirty dishes were on our table and the mother was very offended when we said something since we mention the situation to our server and he was uncomfortable about the idea of saying anything to them; we almost left just because of that. Then people from a different table which seem to stay at the hotel came down to the dining room wearing flip flops and shorts when that is specifically said not to be allowed. Overall the ambiance was not great as we expected.
Best Steak on Martha's Vineyard! We come to the Vineyard every summer, and we always knew about the Harborview Hotel, but it wasn't until three years ago that we discovered that this historic hotel on Edgartown Harbor housed an excellent restaurant. My wife and I think it's the best steak on the island. The view is phenomenal, and we finished our bottle of wine on the porch in our rocking chairs!
This is one of our favorite restaurant, and have enjoyed everything about it for the last couple years. I was very disappointed in this particular visit as it was our family getting together here after a long time out of country for 2 of my adult kids. The waiter, kept rushing us and insisted on keep coming back even after we asked him to give us time. The restaurant was more than half full and it seemed a slow night. We were in and out of this place within an hour and had to go to another to enjoy some quality time. We went back last night again, a smaller party, as some of the guests had left; we had a lovely time and Shawn our waiter made it worth while .
I recommend this restaurant to any one for any occasion .
