Wonderful food and wonderful service from Adam.
Thanks Adam for making our dinner even better!
We ordered clams (very good), bouillabaisse (excellent), fish & chips (good). Was hoping for more vegetable options and good gluten free bread. Was a bit over-priced for the food but the ambiance (killer views, live music, fireplace) cannot be beat!
Absolutely incredible service and incredible food. We will be back!
Spectacular views, quiet atmosphere, limited but quality menu well executed. Our server Maureen was great, we enjoyed the date.
Not bad, only issue was food wasn’t worth the price at least for what we got.
The new Chef, Gary, who came on a couple months ago... has been a tremendous addition and has really plusses up the menu and quality of the food.
The staff is always fantastic! Super friendly, knowledgeable and considerate.
The clam chowder is vastly improved and was rich and delicious!! Caprese Salad was fresh, flavorful and delicious! The filet was cooked to our request and was tender and better quality than in the past...
The shrimp scampi pasta was the only question... it was good... however the large bowl it was served in made all the delicious sauce sit on the bottom while the noodles were plentiful but not much flavor... until you find the sauce at the bottom and mix it up...
We used to only visit the bar fo excellent drinks (ask for Isaiah) and gave up on the food... but this new chef has re-invigorated the menu and quality and we will resume dining here on a regular basis... so happy about this...
This was a birthday dinner that did not disappoint. We started with their charcuterie board and had their wild salmon and rib eye finished with some panna cotta and espresso. We will be back.
They had the Beer Go-Round with a live band. We chose to sit inside by the water view. It was great that they had the windows open to be able to listen to it in the restaurant, but when you want a nice dinner out having a loud bad (which was very good) behind you wasn’t quite what was expected. I was unable to talk with the other person across the table as music was so loud.
The waiter (Adam) was great who accommodated and closed them and shades as the sun was in our way. The FOH manager came around to put shades up as I get you want to have light but when a paying guest wants shade down, please respect. We told Adam we were there to relax and finally having a night out. He didn’t rush us at all and very attentive.
Food was good, had the burgers. Drinks (Mojito/Margarita) from Bar were a little slow for not being that busy inside but were tasty. Gary (Executive Chef) came around and chatted with us which was very nice. Enjoy when Chefs come out of kitchen to ensure their food to the guest liking, weird how the FOH manager never did. I get that you had an event going on but just as much as important as those outside. Creme brûlée was great, best dessert on menu.
Overall it was very nice and will return.
We had a great time there, the food was great, the ambiance also great and the waitress did a fine job of keeping up with our needs. We will be back!
Lighthouse Bar and Grill is such a great spot but it’s a shame the food is spotty. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes just average. There was a wedding party going on, so I’m sure the kitchen was slammed. But ……..
Communication issues with staff. We arrived at 2 for 4 pm music. Staff unaware of start time or location . Recommend restaurant for fabulous live music!
We ate our lunch outside which provided a very nice touch. Our waitress was very friendly & accommodating. My husband had the Cobb Salad and I had the clam chowder. The salad was excellent but my chowder was not. Tiny, tiny clams, served in their shells which was odd, on top. The actual chowder was cauliflower base. Too thick & very little flavor. I’m a PNW native and I like my chowder w/ the clams baked in the chowder w/ butter, potatoes, cream, etc.
I would definitely go back again but order something different.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with lunch and dinner at the Lighthouse Bar and Grill. We had dinner rezis but we stopped in for lunch and loved it so we had two,,amazing experiences here. The hostess, Anna, was so hospitable and customer focused. She found us just the right table and coordinated a low key dessert it’s candle without the fanfare…exactly what we wanted.
We ordered crab cakes, the clam chowder, salads, steaks, old fashioneds and wine across the dining experiences. Every entree was delicious and the the attention to detail evident. We enpven had fresh blanked to keep us,warm fro the cool breeze blowing from the water.
This place is perfect for casual yet romantic dining. Thanks to all who served us.
This place has a lovely view and nice staff. Every time i have been here there has been no one at the host stand, so seems like they may need more people. Food is ok but very overpriced for what it is. you are paying for the atmosphere.
Let me start by saying that I’m very hypercritical based on spending 20 years in the hospitality industry as a head chef and a kitchen manager. However, my career has changed and I’ve been out of the industry for the past 15 years.
My wife and I spent the first 2 hrs on the patio just talking and enjoying the beautiful setting, The Bellwether is in a beautiful location and we really love the Bellingham marina. There was a Thursday night brass band from Chicago on the deck and it actually saved the night. The drinks and service on the patio were average and we moved inside for our dinner reservations. We were the only people in the dining room for our 745 reservation (the kitchen closed at 9). The server introduced herself and was clearly ready to go home. My wife unfortunately has strict gluten and dairy allergies, but they are easily remedied by eating quality food without added ingredients so she ordered the salmon without the beurre blanc sauce. The waitress seemed confused and proceeded to say that they could do it, but it wouldn’t be the same as they intended on the menu (kinda weird), obviously! I ordered the filet mignon (which I’ve been ordering for 30 years). Our food arrived (delivered by the manager) and the salmon was smothered in beurre blanc. So he took both meals back to the kitchen so that my wife wouldn’t need to watch me eat (keep in mind that we are the only people in the dining room on a gorgeous summer eve while the sun is setting). The food arrived again (delivered by the manager), and the salmon looked good and tasted good but it was accompanied by some raw BURNT broccoli (so they took raw broccoli and burned it on the grill). My fillet minion was a very thin (1/2” thick at best) overcooked flavorless waste of money, served on cold mashed potatoes with cold raw asparagus with the stringy tough white stems still attached. The waitress never came back until we were done and ready to go, and she never even mentioned the sauce mishap. Sad!
We sat on the patio in perfect weather for our anniversary. The ambiance, food and service were excellent. We couldn't be happier with our evening.
Great fish and chips………………………………….,…….."……………………..
Came here on a day during the heat wave and they let us know there was only one chef so our food would be a while. We ordered two salads and 3 burgers and they came out an hour and a half later all at different times. The staff did nothing to accommodate our wait, we had to ask for bread, and they didn’t even offer a free drink or anything like that. Let alone they were out of almost everything on the menu. They ended up comping our meal because they couldn’t even justify us paying for it. We’re locals and we won’t be going back.
Great food and service.. very pricey.. get the halibut
Birthday dinner for my wife ~ with our 2 adult kids. Great service, food was amazing, view was gorgeous. We would definitely dine here again. Clam chowder was probably the best I’ve ever had. Great dining experience.
Great experience overall! Had Mother’s Day breakfast; food and service were superb. We will be back!
They have the quality food, the atmosphere and the table they arranged for our dinner was nice, we liked the live piano play, the service was also amazing and professional, all of our guests really enjoyed it. A classic place to eat for a good event and we all love.
There was a great view of the sunset and the bay, the waitress and hostess were both very friendly and attentive, and food was served promptly with careful attention to the time it took to finish each dish. My only complaint would be that the food wasn’t as good as you’d expect from the prices, but it was still good!
A breathtaking, friendly peaceful space that makes you feel like you need to be there from sunrise till sunset without missing a scene.
The service was amazing the everyone of them they made sure your comfortable, they make you feel that your in the right place.
Upscale hotel with cozy-chic interiors. Beautiful views from the dining room and good ambience on the quieter side allowing for table conversation without yelling. Food was very good overall. The crab devilled egg start was nicely styled and tasty as was the clam chowder. The endive salad was a little off, too acidic and not enough sweetness and would be much improved with glazed nuts instead of roasted or addition of fruit/sugar to the dressing. The halibut was cooked perfectly as were the accompanying fingerling potatoes but the leeks had a little too much vinegar. The fruit tart was beautiful with perfect light, crispy crust and just the right sweetness. Our cocktails were also very well done -- must try the Elder Sour gin & tonic.
Our server, Adam, was polite and attentive and knowledgeable about the food and beverage offerings -- friendly but not loquacious.
We recently moved to Bellingham after living in several larger cities, some known for their restaurants, and were pleasantly surprised to find a spot like this in Bellingham. We will return.
The team went over and far beyond considering covid restrictions had us outside in the rain (covered of course) it was a wonderful time for my little family
It’s was okay but it’s was a bit more expensive than it was worth. A regular burger with just cheese and sauce on it costed me $19. A little outrageous. Great view and service though.
We had the perfect table next to the windows overlooking the harbor. Tables were spaced quite far apart so I felt very safe. We had a lovely evening and plan to come back.
Our first time here. Great venue. Wonderful staff. We will be back...
Never tasted better food and the views were perfect!
The service was amazing and even got a free dessert because we were celebrating our anniversary. Price was worth it for the quality of the food!
We took our daughter here for a birthday meal. Service and good were great. Had a very enjoyable time.
the appetizer was good and the desserts and drinks but the steak was overcooked and not the most flavorful, which is weird because it use to be really good.
We had an early reservation & watched the sun set. Our table was tucked away so had some privacy. Very good experience. We will return.
Honestly, I was disappointed for many reasons - I had looked at the menu and pictures prior to going, to make sure I would like the food. I was looking VERY forward to the seafood risotto, which was no longer on the menu. Apparently the new chef had changed almost all the items on the menu and shortened the menu and there was not much I could eat. Being allergic to mushrooms, many dishes were out. Thankfully my husband agreed to share the prime rib with me (its a dish for 2) and it was excellent but I won't be back since that was literally the only thing I could order and its not my husbands first choice. None of the seafood meals that looked amazing were on the menu anymore. Even the desserts were changed. No more cheese cake or creme' brûlée- we were disappointed. Not sure I would recommend this but I will pick yes- if people can eat mushrooms they may enjoy it.
Perfect day food was good felt safe. The atmosphere was beautiful.
Great place, nice view, food is great, service is awesome
We had a great time.
We showed up on time, and were seated promptly. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable about food and drinks. Will definitively go back
Food is priced at fine dining prices, but not fine dining quality. Toasted baguette was burnt, entrees we’re pretty flavorless. Food came too quickly and we felt rushed through our meal, not the romantic anniversary dinner we were hoping for.
Service was warm and friendly. The restaurant felt safe and welcoming. Portions were underwhelming, but expected.
We were most disappointed with the filet mignon. We ordered two at our table, both medium rare, and both dishes were very disappointingly over cooked. Both were tough and burnt to a crisp on the edges. Did not feel we got our $84 dollars worth of steak. That being said we have had incredible steak here in the past- some of the best ever, tonight was just a disappointment.
Booked on OpenTable, arrived on time & got seated right away. Great views of boats & kites. Service was good & food was delish! Glad we dined here against the other seafood contenders in the area.
