Super experience! Have been here numerous times and always enjoy the atmosphere, food, and great service. A+++
As usual the food was delicious, the waitress very competent and knowledgeable, and the ambiance very appealing. The food is also beautifully presented which adds to the delight of the whole experience.
Awesome meal, great service, the almond pumpkin cake was outstanding
We were there for my wife's 60th birthday and had a wonderful dining experience. We were able to secure a parking space in the back "alley" and then walked into the dining room through the back door and past the kitchen ... and the aromas emanating from the kitchen reminded us we'd made the right choice for sure. After 'checking in' at the host station and confirming our reservation, we were seated at a nice small table. The only 'glitch' the entire evening was that after we'd been seated and provided water, it took almost 5 minutes before anyone came to give us menus and explain the specials. After that, everything was outstanding. The waiter described the specials and offered his recommendation, which my wife followed. The short ribs and filet were out of this world, and the desserts exquisite.
The Lightfoot is always our favorite place for "date night". Friday night did not disappoint. The service was impeccable; and the food excellent, as always. Highly recommended for almost any occasion.
Two things: First, when our server was asked about why one of us only received a very small portion of one the vegetable sides, he simply implied "sorry" without attempting to resolve the problem. Second, when asked by our server if we would like to order dessert, we reminded the server that the dinner was a birthday celebration even though I had included that information in our reservation. However, he seemed surprised to know this, and only then did he provide a complementary piece of birthday cake.
Delicious crab cakes and sides. Quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
The ambience in Lightfoot is inviting. The menu has a good variety and daily specials add to the excellent choices. Many items on the menu may be tweaked to make them vegetarian friendly. Service is excellent.
It was a nice date for my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it and we had a great time. I will always recommend this restaurant!!
Excellent service. We chose the restaurant because of the excellent food during our previous evenings. Very friendly staff also
Awesome food & service ! Music was a bit loud to be able to have a nice dinner conversation.
I alerted the restaurant when I made the reservation that it was our anniversary. No mention from anyone about us celebrating. Not typical from an upscale restaurant. The waiter was scattered and couldn’t remember the specials and pulled out a large sheet of paper to read the specials. Again, not typical of an upscale restaurant. The food was definitely the highlight.
Will probably go back but may go somewhere else for a special occasion.
Great Food , Service, Waiter was great and so was ambiance
As usual the experience was great, this was our first time for brunch and the service, the food and atmosphere was outstanding. The brunch menu was great, we really enjoy the restaurant and will bring others there to enjoy the place.
My family had a very enjoyable meal here. We were taken to our table as soon as our full party was present and the service was friendly and timely. The food was delicious as usual. The two children as well as the adults were treated as appreciated guests.
We had a 7 pm reservation but waited 20 minutes to be sat. After being sat, we waited an additional 20 mins for bread and drinks. So, 40 mins into our reservation and no order taken, drinks or bread. When our app finally arrived, it was delivered to the wrong table who proceeded to eat it! Not a good start. I ordered the scallop special that arrived NOTHING like it was offered. It arrived on rice with mixed veggies not the cheese grits and crispy fried pork belly as I had expected. Who offers a special and then changes it and doesn't tell servers or the person who ordered it? I blame the kitchen for the issues mentioned and they clearly were off their game and slowed the restaurant down.
Also, we noted in our OpenTable reservation that we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and yet there was no mention of it by the hostess (who can see our reservation) or the server. I expect a restaurant of this level to pay attention to the notes on the reservation and share that info with the server. Not a good experience. We left unhappy. I do not recommend Lightfoot.
Superior price / quality ratio, excellent options for both hearty and light eaters, attractive presentation of fresh, delicious, locally produced items.
As always, the food was just wonderful. The ambience is amazing also. I just love this restaurant.
First time and the whole experience was superb. Our waitress was outstanding and the food excellent. Definitely will come and visit again! Keep up the great work you are all doing for your patrons!
Delicuous food, charming historical setting in former bank, complete with ornate woodwork, pressed Tin-type ceiling and safe!
Love this restaurant. Food delicious. Mentioned to the manager how much we enjoyed.
Was very good and the service was super. Plan on bringing my mom on her next visit. Also going to check out eating in the chef’s kitchen. That looked super fun!
Great food and service! With reservations for 5:00, we wondered why we had to wait 10 minutes to hear the chef's specials for dinner. Also, it was very noisy, but not sure how Lightfoot can control that, when a table next to you has a group of women who are just having a good time and talking loudly. Overall, pricey but outstanding food. Special occasion venue for us. Love the cheesy bread, too!
With the exception of the somewhat discourteous restaurant manager (not the maitre di), everything was 5-Star! Bartender was fabulous as was our server and the food, top notch.
Delightfully repurposed old two story bank building. Beautiful accent pieces, superior chef. Fairly fancy, lots of flourishes and finishes on every menu item; not a whole lot of regular American comfort foods but there is a kids' menu. Only negative was loudness of restaurant. Even at mid-afternoon, the level was loud enough that hearing conversational level talk was difficult.
We enjoy drinks and small plates after Friday evening dance classes @ Adams Dance studio. Lightfoot is our go to place, 3 times a month! The Lobster bisque is my favorite as well as the zucchini sticks. The wine and spirits selection is eclectic and enjoyable.
Phenomenal dinner and service for an anniversary celebration
Had another excellent time dining at Lightfoot Restaurant in Leesburg on the 24th. We were 1st greeted by a gregarious waiter in training. If he didn't know the answer, he quickly found it. The occasion was a get together of old friends, so we were not in a hurry to eat and leave. Lightfoot is awesome for that, not just extraordinary food, but a staff that will read the situation and adjust to it. We stayed for 3 hours with never a want or need, not being followed up by our waiter in training.
Our congratulations to Chef Ingrid Gustavson and her staff.
We went for Sunday Brunch and had a wonderful meal and great service
Reservation was at 8:15 was seated at 8:45. Restaurant closes early.Felt rushed. other than that it was great.
The only problem we had was that we waited 45 minutes to get bread for the table before food came. Delilah was fantastic waitress but that wait was really long and our reservation was for 8pm so all 7 of us were really hungry.
Wonderful venue. Fantastic service. Excellent food.
We had great seating near the window at the front of the restaurant. Everything was near perfect with the exception of the duck breast which my husband traded me for. I’d never been asked how I want my poultry cooked and medium was recommended. As I should have guessed, it was like eating half cooked chicken. I would go there again, but stick to steak or other less “exotic” poultry. :)
I love Lightfoot's Grilled Cheese of the Day. Great atmosphere. Attentive service.
Fabulous restaurant, will return and highly recommend. Thank you!!
We dine at the Lightfoot regularly since we live near by. Food and service always great. This night it took over an hour to be served our food. It wasn't a busy night at the resturant.
Wonderfully accommodating staff, beautiful building and tasty food! Nice selection of scotches and appetizers.
had a great dinner here this weekend! this place has been on my list! we really wanted a booth so waited at the bar and had some really lovely cocktails. i love the decor of the restaurant. we did have to wait a long time for our food to arrive but when it did it was outstanding. my filet and crabcake special was an absolutely outstanding dish. i would come back just for this. great ambiance and great place for a romantic dinner.
The food was very good, and we enjoyed that. However, the service was very poor. There were a number of times we had to flag our waiter down. Drinks were empty with no refills a number of times. And when it was time to pay again, it took forever for them to come to our table.
We enjoyed our lunch at Lightfoot a lot! Most of us hadn't been there for years and years, and thought it tasted better now! It was pretty crowded, but it's such a nice restaurant that we overlooked that! Our orders were soup, salads, corned beef sandwich I think and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The salad, oysters I think? ~ was huge!
