I just can’t say enough good things about Lightfoot. We live about 20 minutes away and it is always a reliably delicious meal. I am never afraid to try something new...always good! It can go elegant or casual and you can too! The old restored bank adds a bit of nostalgia to the place and keeps it comfortable. Once you eat here, you will want to keep coming back...guaranteed.
I asked for the lamb chops tips to be well done; one was as requested. I took the other home to find it was almost rare , very disappointing. Also, most of the tables had white tablecloths; we were seated at a bar side table; was not pleased.
Great place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Good food and she loved the Yaya cake with cotton candy and a candle.
Visited for lunch with family on March 6, 2018. First time. Nice upscale place. Some tables had white table cloths - others did not - curious. I had the onion and mushroom soup - outstanding. Also had the Cobb Salad - excellent, and a large portion. Another had the English Ham and Cheese Sandwich - looked really good, a large portion.
Service was quick and attentive. We happened to have some loud talkers at a nearby table, but I would think generally this a fairly quiet place. Very interesting building, and building history.
Went for my wife’s birthday. Overall experience was first rate. Service was attentive not overbearing. Food was outstanding! From appetizer to desert, it was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Awesome! The best and most artful restaurant in VA😍
SLOW SERVICE had a reservation for 6:45 arrived at 6:30 and was seated right away. Server greeted us and took a drink order. Drinks appeared about 15 minutes later , were told about the specials on the menu and that bread would be coming soon, server disappeared again and did not reappear again for 15 minutes. Ordered our appys and still no bread , apps and salads appeared about 1 hour after seating bread appeared after salads finished. Called manager about slow service and was told 1 server down, our server could have explained at the seating that they were a little slow due to extra workload. would have understood slow service, also told manager same. received free desserts and coffee. left table at- 9:30 after finished. food good but service unacceptable. Beware
We drove from Baltimore on a rainy Sunday to have brunch. That's how much we enjoy Lightfoot. I started with a bacon Bloody Mary which was excellent at $11, (worth it)!
To start, we received an amuse-bouche of two small cinnamon rolls with caramel sauce.
Scrumptious! We then ordered the Denver omelet and honey smoked salmon Eggs Benedict. Both were perfect, including the roasted potatoes. The honey smoked salmon was outstanding and the eggs cooked just right; not too runny. Lightfoot has consistently great food. It's cozy, with a wonderful wait staff. They do have free parking in the back if you can't find a spot on busy King St.
Outstanding every time we go. Can't go wrong at Lightfoot.
We have been to Lightfoot 4 of the last 6 weekends; each time the food has been outstanding. Our only issue this time was service. Our initial waitress was slow to arrive and our drinks were very slow to come. But, the waitress passed by our table several times w/o a word. When the drinks did arrive, we were ready to order; our waitress left but I tried to stop her-she still left; in addition, my wife raised her hand to get her back, but no luck. Again, our waitress passed by several times. Finally, we talked to the manager and got a new waiter. At this point, each time the waitress passed by, she then proceeded to say things under her breath towards us and give us a dirty look. We WILL NEVER return based on her. The new waiter tried to explain away the bar being slow, her having a big group, etc. NOT OUR PROBLEM. And, she never said anything like "Sorry for the delay", or "I'll be right" there. The waiter did offer free dessert for us, but aty that point we just wanted out of there. Definitely did not enjoy the meal! At about $150-200 per dinner w/drinks and tip, we will go somewhere that will have good service.
We go there more for the ambiance then the food, which can be spotty. My red snapper dish was ill-conceived. Snapper didn't taste that fresh, and was overwhelmed by the clack beans, pico, and guacamole. My wife's Halibut though was delicious, perched on top of sauteed kale and will rice with a complementary sauce. But nice location in an old bank building for a someewhat romantic date.
Our meal was excellent as was service. The room however was quite noisy and detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience.
We went here for my grandmothers bithday and everyone absolutely loved their meal and the experience. To start out the bar tender was amazing! We all loved our drinks especially the raspberry mandarin special! Not a bad plate touched the table. All of their soups were phenomenal; we had the special mushroom soup, tomato, crab, and I recommend the French onion mushroom soup. The waitress Meagan was awesome! The crab cake was wonderful, no filler and real lump crab meat! We also had the oyster Rockefeller, steak, pork shank, and the chicken. All were delectable! Recommend for anyone who wants a special experience!
One of our favorite places to dine. We love the filet mignon, but honestly everything is tasty there. While we typically go to celebrate special occasions, it is equally nice for lunch or dinner out. Beautiful interior and location. Highly recommend.
We were celebrating Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect place. Great food very attentive server. I had a special order and it came out exactly how I wanted it. Lovely atmosphere with the soft piano music in the background.
My husband and I came for dinner to celebrate a special date night. The food was delicious and the ambiance couldn’t be beat. The noise level was a bit high but that was due to a full restaurant. We’ll be back for sure! What a great find.
The old bank surroundings and warm fireplace added to the historic atmosphere of old town Leesburg. The food and service were excellent as always. The tables with tablecloths and unique plating for each dish make you feel pampered. This restaurant never disappoints!! Highly recommended.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I have been there two or three times now, and I have had literally nothing there that was not delicious. The ambiance is amazing. Hard to describe exactly, but extremely classic and elegant. I went there the other day and they had live jazz performers who were excellent (but not too loud). The service is also some of the best I've experienced, and I am pretty picky about my service. Cannot recommend the place highly enough. Definitely go there prepared to spend, though. Nothing is cheap.
Dinner for two. Quick service and good tasting food. Would go back
Try their southern favorites like fried green tomatoes and grits and shrimp. You won't be disappointed
Service and Food were wonderful! We will be back soon.
excellent friendly service, wonderful atmosphere, menu had many good choices
Never fails to amaze us with great food! Service is great; not rushed. Great selections and specials. The crowd has good "energy" without getting too noisy. Our favorite place to dine!
Great service, food and drinks very good and very generous portions.
Great food, great service...
Just wish the upstairs seating was open...
Well worth the redeye flight across the country to get back for my wife's birthday dinner. Been here once before at a delicious company luncheon (especially the chicken). For this evening, we had the pork loin, and the steak and (crab)cake special. Both were perfectly prepared and accompanied with tasty, well-paired side dishes. Service was top notch. Located in historic bank building (look for old vault parts!). Fireplace is to die for. Walls are adorned with many vintage posters.
Great day, great meal. Change the dinning room music. Awful.
We took two friends to the restaurant. They had not eaten here before and said they would return. We always enjoy eating here. We were a little to close to the music. If I had realized the band was about to start playing we would have sat further away. The waiter was very good listed all specials including the price for each. We got enough service ,but not too much to disrupt our conversation. We had soups, salads fish and chips and all were good and tuna was prepared as ordered.
Lightfoot is always a great place to dine. Only problem is that I called and changed my reservation from 4:45 PM to 5:30 PM (with Jay) and it wasn't done! I was told that I was a no-show. The young hostess didn't seem to know what to do. But, the manager intervened and handled it. Food was delicious and desert too!
I love the place. Great atmosphere. The greeting, the service, and the attention was fantastic. This the kind of place you run into big name people and politicians (we saw the Virginia Governor). The French Onion soup was great as well. I had the filet with the crab cake which was good but I was not overly impressed. My wife (birthday girl) had the special of the day which was a fish dish. She liked it. My boys had the burger and the pasta with shrimp and lobster (I think). They also liked it. The deserts we great, specially the surprise that there was freshly made cotton candy for my kids. I have been here several times and I have had good meals and I have had great meals, but at their price level it needs to be great all the time. We will go again and I will recommend to my friends, mostly because of the atmosphere and the service, and its close to my house since we moved to Leesburg.
Our server Jose was outstanding, the host Will was great
Lightfood never seems to disappoint. Their food is reliably delicious and I am never afraid to try something new on the menu. The short rib special was delicious and I would get it again and again. It was my birthday and we only mentioned it during dinner amongst ourselves. The waiter picked up on it and brought dessert with a little candle. Not too much fanfare, but just enough to make me feel special. We love Lightfoot...
We love Lightfoot! We often visit for brunch on Sundays. Great food and bottomless mimosas!
Everything was great as always. We love the place and will always come back.
A friend recommended this restaurant to us and it was a delightful surprise! The restored bank building motif was charming, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Parking was very limited unfortunately. Recommend using Open Table for your reservation.
Made reservations for brunch, as that is listed on the website menus. And, based on prior dinner experiences, I expected brunch to be very good. I was very disappointed, however. "Brunch" consisted of a few entrees with eggs - one very traditional and another Mexican style. The rest of the menu offered at 11am on a Sunday is just lunch. The food is good, just don't expect a top notch brunch here. Sad because they have great ambiance for a brunch.
We really enjoyed the fire and ornate interior, the well-stocked bar, and the very tasty food. Our kids enjoyed the children's options of pasta and the sticky buns for a Sunday brunch. Would highly recommend for good food, drink, and a nice experience with good service.
I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant. Have been here many times and like the food a lot, bartender was great, I jjust wish our party of 5 would have stayed at the bar. It was my friend's 50th, the host greeted us rudely, our server was snide and rude (even after we pointed his attitude out nicely in a joking manner), we waited 30 mins for dessert before we gave up and finally when we mentioned it to the manager that night on our way out he shrugged us off (bald gentleman). It was the staff on duty Saturday January 20 at 8pm if anyone at the restaurant feels like reaching out. Very disappointing but our group was determined to have a nice night anyway.
Classic American cuisine in historic Leesburg. The food and service were excellent and priced just right.
