Outstanding food. and ambience. Definitely worth the drive. Highly recommend.
Our go-to place in Leesburg. The 1888 bank remnants are on full display, and add an air of grandeur. I have eaten here four times, and never had a disappointing course, much less meal. Staples like french onion soup, cream of tomato soup, and shrimp and grits do not disappoint. My wife loves the atomic crab cakes, and has made a meal of three or four of the starters. You can eat in the main dining room or outside in the back. Dinner parking is convenient; if full, there is a free public garage across the street. Great place ... and don't forget the french onion soup.
As usual we had a great time and a great meal.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
The location is in quaint downtown Leesburg in an old bank building. Beautifully decorated, comfortable seating. We had a reservation and were quickly seated. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was amazing!!
We always enjoy going to Lightfoot for our anniversary dinner plus an occasional dinner out. Seating is comfortable, food is local, prepared very well and quite tasty. Little noisy at first but quieted down as the even wore on. Great for parties and the service is great.
This is a wonderful restaurant in a repurposed bank building from the '40s or 50s, and a lot of the decor is from the original bank. Cool, but we don't choose a restaurant for the decor. The food is creative, the menu offers a great variety of choices. My wife had the fried oysters as well as oysters Rockefeller. Yes, she really likes oysters. She said both dishes were Devine. I had the duck, which was excellent. If you like unusual deserts, don't miss the frozen peanut pie.
We had a great time and a great meal! Just kind of bummed that we went on my Birthday 7/2 and were celebrating both my birthday and anniversary and we weren’t offered a dessert or anything for the celebration. We’ve received treats at every other rest when we went for a celebration !!
My favorite restaurant in Loudoun County. Always superb in every way: food, service, and ambience.
We visited for a birthday dinner based on some friends recommendations after they had enjoyed twice the Filet Mignon and the massive crab cake. Upon arriving in the older section of town we just knew it would be cramped and likely average fare. BOY were we surprised. The street entrance had that small town look and as we entered the doorway we noticed that this was a bank repurposed. The reception desk was front and center and staff was quick to greet us to the restaurant. The noise level was a bit loud, but we sort of expected this from our friend's description of the establishment as well as us coming on a Saturday evening. Our dining companions (two more) were arriving a bit behind us and we were given the option to wait or be seated. This was very nice of the staff to seat us without our full dinner complement, in that we may have sat waiting, as more people arrived and the table we desired could have been filled. As it was, we had a great corner table out of the walkways, away from the bar crowd and yet clear access for staff to the kitchen. We ordered a bottle of wine from a well appointed list. Several were of high caliber which indicates food options that are worthy of these vintages. We ordered the chess plate appetizer and were delighted with the textures and variety of cheese. All went great with our wine choice. For the main course we a enjoyed the special of the night. Filet Mignon with Crab cake. IT was the best option as it also allowed us to enjoy two dishes that came highly recommend to us. The meal was inviting and we all had a wonderful time , which was evident due to the fact we ended the meal after two hours and then spent another hour with desserts. Lightfoot restaurant has a unique twist with desserts. Without spoiling it for those who have not enjoyed this dinner experience I recommend ordering at least one dessert and see what accompanies your choice. We had a thoroughly great dinner due largely to our server and the wait staff.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, and amazing food!
Food was good but service was terrible. We sat for a long time then finally has to ask the manager to send a server. He was rushed and didn’t listen to us at all. Got my drink order wrong and brought the wrong appetizer. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Will not go back.
Our server was awesome and the food was amazing. We had always thought this place was really expensive, but it truly is a great price for what you get. We are definitely coming back.
another great experience at Lightfoot. This is where we go after an afternoon trip to our favorite winery. Always good food and great service. Love it.
Amazing, as always. The Fried Green Tomatoes are divine!
The rib-eye was as delicious and as tender as I have ever had. We ate dinner outside. While I appreciate the space limitations of the restaurant with its outdoor dining space, the moving of garbage from the kitchen to the dumpster while we were dining detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience.
Duck breast needs to be cooked hot enough on the outside to render the fat. Expected more for price.
Lightfoot is always a good value. Our server (Jon) was outstanding, helpful and friendly. What I most appreciate about your restaurant (and which is increasingly difficult to find) is the low noise level. It is perfect for a two or four-person gathering.
Great spot for our 61st Wedding Anniversary celebration. Both the Halibut and the Lamb T-Bones were done to perfection. The peach-blackberry Crisp provided a perfect ending.
My wife and I had our wedding reception here in 2001. We have been there many times since for dinner and even to celebrate our wedding day. The menu is always amazing and varies to keep creative new ideas flowing. Went for dinner June 8 for dinner and we split both the lobster bisque and the halibut for a entree. Amazing on both fronts! The waiter was great and very attentive despite the several tables he had. The kitchen was a bit slow with the entree but we were not in a hurry anyway so that was no issue. In a great restaurant like this you really don't want to be in a hurry anyway. My opinion.
Lightfoot is likely the best restaurant not only in Leesburg, but all of Loudoun County. 5 Star!
My husband and I have dined at Lightfoot for nearly a decade, now. The staff, service, ambiance, and food are unsurpassed. My friend and I had a lovely luncheon, and were pleased with every aspect of the experience.
See you again, soon!
Best meal ever at Lightfoot.
Our son and daughter in law just moved to Leesburg and have been wanting to take us there. It was so delicious and our waiter Francisco was the best. We will definitely be back.
Great place we have been eating here for decades . Love the food.
We had a great experience. The specials of the day were great, short ribs and the lobster bisque. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Food came out reasonably quickly. bev and bread service was very quick. We will come here again.
Waiter was efficient but not friendly at all. Makes a big difference to the evening,
Great food in an elegant historical venue. The service was great and the food was delicious.
The food was quite good and perfectly prepared (this time we had lump crab and filet beef with asparagus and mashed potatoe); however, the menu remains somewhat limited and would suggest that it be expanded by a few more dishes, particularly with more local Virginia cuisine. As a courtesy, the dinner specials should be printed. The service was good, but very laid back and casually attentive. The e-mailed coupon for anniversary desserts specifically says per entree, but was actually only for one. Last time we were there the premium martinis were $16 in the upper bar, but this time just $11.50 for same ‘call’ in the lower section, but perfectly made. Not getting points from Open Table was odd and may cause us to rethink this particular booking service. All-in-all a very nice dinner, but with some missed opportunities to make it the best in the area.
Impeccable service, and delicious food, friendly staff. Can’t get much better than this.
We go to the Lightfoot for special occasions, the most recent being our 34th anniversary. The food was excellent, as usual, and our server was friendly and helpful. The restaurant (built in a former bank where I saved my money as a child) has a wonderful ambiance with French posters on many of the walls. The ham biscuit appetiser is spectacular and the blue ridge spinach salad is a winner. We’ll be back!
Good good and service. Fun evening with friends. Beautiful interior. Make a reservation.
Food was very good especially the Halibut. My dinner companion had the filet that was average. Service was painfully slow. Disappointed overall.
It was a last minute decision and we hadn't been there in a few years. So glad things are still the same. The food was great from appetizer's, soup, entrée and dessert (all chef specials) and the service was top notch. We will make sure it's not years before the next visit.
My friend was entranced by the decor and both of us enjoyed the smiles and greetings of every staff member who went past. Our waitress was delightful and the food superb as always!
It was great. The rain kept most people away so it was very quiet but comfy!
Have always enjoyed this restaurant, but ordered the mussels and frites lunch special and was very unhappy . Never have I seen such large mussels. Much more familiar with the smaller sweeter variety. Almost inedible, and I left several after trying to eat a few. Maybe just a menu variation but I will never order this dish here again. Sorry I didn't order some of my other favorites.
Excellent service and food. Never tried duck which was recommended by server. Great choice. Will be back
Great food and great service. It had been years since we last visited; we will be more regular customers.
Wonderful Mother's Day dinner. Lightfoot is a newly found favorite restaurant in the area.
Great food... service good but time between courses too long.
