hi im not a complainer.. I stay at the resort for aspecial occasion and as you know made reservation.. I got there order a appetizer.. my chips was stale.. ok I order four cheese ravalio.. I got my salad and it was terrible. ok then here came the dinner....COLD AND LITTLE SAUCE..IWAS TRYING TO EAT IT AND I ASK FOR ROLLS OR BREAD... STILL NEVER GOT.. OH WELL..maybe bad night.. the resort was beautiful and my lunch was great at the resort.. also the next day my breakfast was good at the resort... will be back next month at the resort but I will not make reservations at lightburn.....so sorry and like I say im never a complainer..
Food here not as sophisticated or tasty as the food at the lodge. Server was harried.
We never got to dine here because they called my cell phone left a message they were cancelling my reservation due to technical difficulties. We find out they just didn't have enough staff to open. Our whole experience at this resort fell short of happy. Tons of kids everywhere, could not even go in pool, finally went in and a boy jump right over my head twice. Not even close to a relaxing experience, kids and parents screaming, crying, long waits for drinks and food. Will not be returning
Lightburn's is a nice, friendly restaurant with amazing views of the resort. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly, courteous and helpful. Our only "surprise" was that we were expecting a more upscale eatery and found it to be more casual and energetic. There were a few groups with a lot of active children during our dinnertime. lol We were celebrating an anniversary envisioning a quiet, romantic atmosphere. There was a guest musician who was fabulous and though it was louder than we expected or cared for, the music was very enjoyable and lively. We really enjoyed our visit, it was just different than what we expected based on the description of the brochure, etc.
The setting, appetizers and drinks were very good. The hostess was fantastic and very friendly. Our server was not as good. She informed us that all of our sauces for the steak would be coming on the side because it was to confusing to enter into the system how we each wanted our steak and what sauce went with each steak. Then one of the sauces came out and was horrible. We informed our server and she went back to the kitchen with it and informed us the person that made the sauce that night was new and made it wrong. At no point was anything offered as compensation for the fact that it was horrible and it was not replaced either. We ordered their signature drink, peach sangria, which was delicious. However, after the first two crafts we ordered (we were with a larger group) we were informed that they ran out of peaches for the drink. Then were asked to give them the crafts back because they needed them to make new drinks. I'm not sure how a restaurant like that only has two crafts for a signature drink? I had asked for the butter sauce for my filet only to receive a container of regular butter that was not melted. The waitress never came back until the end of the meal so I was unable to get sauce for my dry steak. We spend over $300 and I felt like it was not worth it given the service and quality of food. I would not go back except to sit out on their patio and enjoy the view.
We really enjoyed the course and resort views from the patio. Very quiet, serene and relaxing dinner with great service. We saw wildlife, lightning bugs and even a fireworks display from a wedding at the resort. The wine list could use some higher end options and the food was ok. Not much variety from the resort restaurant menu options and the chicken was very salty. Nothing was bad about the salad and entrees but nothing stood out. Coffee and chocolate lava cake were great.
We enjoyed our return visit to Lightburn's on our overnight getaway to Stonewall Jackson resort. The restaurant was busy with a few groups having dinner and we had a perfect seat to celebrate our anniversary by the window - to see the view of the golf course, lake and the sunset. We both had the three cheese ravioli with a glass of wine and it was the perfect ending to our day. We will definitely return again!
The food was delicious especially the chicken nachos! The views were amazing and breathtaking. Staff were pleasant and friendly.
This is my second 4th of July family get together at Stonewall. I made reservations in may and requested a certain area for my party of ten. I was disappointed to find that we did not get that area, in fact we (ten of us) were squeezed uncomfortably into a folding table designed for eight. Several people came in without reservations and were given the table that I requested months earlier. I was informed that this was due to a cancellation. I felt we should have been offered this table first. I understand that specific tables are not guaranteed, however after spending over $1300 at the lodge, $400 on a boat, and $600 on dining, should warrant SOME type of consideration, Especially when it was the second time we have done this.
My husband and I made reservations at Lightburns for both nights of our stay at the resort. The reservation staff was courteous and helpful, we were greeted as soon as we got there and seated at wonderful tables both nights. The hostess, waitresses, right on top of everything and were working very hard. Velvet, the manager, came over to say hello, check on us and was so professional and kind. Zita was the waitress both nights and absolutely provided excellent service.
WE have gone to Lightburn's before, several times this year and always a pleasant experience. The food - well what can I say but you have to eat there to appreciate the great flavors! Never a disappointing meal always delicious!
The waitress was more interested in helping other customers who obviously had more money than our table. They had the same amount of people but were obviously well to do. I am disappointed that we were treated that way, we left a decent tip, but honestly did not want to leave anything.
First, even though our reservation request noted a special occasion and asked for a table (for 2) with a decent view, when we arrived (5 minutes early), we were originally given a table in the middle of the open floor, with no view. After pointing out that there was a table open, by the window (for 2), we were told that was reserved. I kindly pointed out that we may be the ones who requested it. A manager got involved and easily made the switch.
As for the dinner, the appetizers and salads were very good. However, the pork chop entree was completely overcooked and very difficult to even cut. We were asked about it, and just said we'd make do with how it was. The manager apologized and asked if we wanted a different entree, but we didn't want to take the time, so just passed. They ended up not charging for that entree, which was nice. The other entree, filet and shrimp was OK. The filet was prepared very nicely, but the shrimp were extremely small and a bit overseasoned. Not the normal size you'd expect as part of a combo platter like that.
Ambiance was nice, and view was great. Very open dining with not a lot of privacy, but not too loud overall. Probably a better place for a good lunch or something.
This was our second visit to Lightburn's, both times for our anniversary. The spinach artichoke dip could have been creamier and the parmesan crostini was not crispy. I had the mahi mahi, which was dry & over-cooked. My husband had the t-bone with baked potato. The t-bone had quite a lot of fat and the baked potato was overdone.
The restaurant did not feel crowded, even though most tables were full; it's very spacious. The views of the resort are spectacular and there's always deer wandering in the meadows.
Ambiance perfect after a long hard week at work. Relaxing atmosphere, golf course and lake view. Lots of entertaining wildlife and this week a vocalist to sing to his audience. Food good, service excellent. A favorite that will draw us back for future meals.
My husband and I were so disappointed in this resteraunt! We heard it was supposed to be so good!!!! The resteraunt was not crowded when we got there and that should have been our first signal, considering the resort was booked solid! We ordered our appetizer of deviled eggs and chilled shrimp. The waitress came out and apologized that they got the hard boiled eggs out and they were slimy and should not be served to anyone!! That should have been my 2nd signal!! My husband ordered the shrimp scampi and I ordered the delmonico steak with the salt crusted baked potatoe. I think they forgot to cook his pasta and brought it out to him!!! The shrimp was the same exact taste as the chilled shrimp! !!! Hmmm!!! My steak was like something you would order from some of your chains that serve breakfast and salad buffets!!! As far as salt crusted baked potato, I think they forgot to do that!!!!! They did take off the price for the appetizers, so they knew it wasn't right! As far as our meals, we both maybe finished 1/4 of it and just said we were finished! !!!! It was very disappointing considering we heard it was so good!!!
