Lift Ratings and Reviews
Located a little bit off the main drag (and that's a good thing), we got in pretty late and Lift was still busy. The bar seating was full and there weren't a lot of open booths. That had to be a good sign, right? Our server was great! She was personable and took the time to have a short conversation with us.
The beer selection was varied with quite a few options bottled and on tap.
It was a little loud, but the name says it all. Lift is for the ski crowd. It was summer, but the crowd is the same. A little younger and not necessarily interested in a quiet dinner. :-)
The food was good. I had a burger. It was fresh and came out medium-rate, just like I ordered. The bun was fantastic. If the beef had more flavor I would give the food five stars. The nachos were BIG (as described by our server). The cowboy trout and grilled salmon were good too.
This was a great stop. The service was great, the food was good, and the location outside of the main strip made parking a lot easier.
Lift's a pretty good restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and they have a fair amount of options. And, they continue to serve the ever famous Billy Burgers with waffle fries which have been a Jackson Hole favorite for decades. In a town that has a lot of expensive high end restaurants, Lift offers alternative, more comfort style food at a more reasonable price. I personally prefer the more gourmet style food. But this is one of the very few restaurants my teenage daughter can handle. So we eat here from time to time and it's consistent and the service is always good. If the previously mentioned critiques are what you're looking for, give it a try. It's hard to find reasonably priced food in Jackson. And this restaurant is one of only two reasonably priced restaurants available on OpenTable in the Jackson Hole area. So, food for thought, pun intended.
We enjoyed our meals very much after a full day of exploring Grand Teton Nat'l. Park, we were ready eat ASAP. Our Open Table reservation was honored quickly even though I made it less than half an hour before we arrived. We were seated right away. Lots of fun seemed to be had around us. Our server couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive. Our meal was served promptly and we both enjoyed our selections. Seems like it could be a fun place for a couple like us, a family, or a large group. It was a cold evening or we would have loved to go to the rooftop patio for our meal. We enjoyed watching the folks biking and hiking on Snow King from our window seat. Only down side was that they were out of their hand-crafted vanilla cream soda and I wanted to try it. Would recommend - if we were in town longer, we would have returned on a warmer evening to try the patio seating.
We were seated promptly, and greeted by our waiter within minutes. However he was very inexperienced. We had to assure him that the bartender would know what a Long Island Iced Tea is, because he had no idea! The area we were seated at was beside another table where 5 women were seated. There was no privacy, so we were distracted by their loud conversation. I just think a table for two should not be right beside an open table for 6. I mean, we were inches away. The food was okay. I ordered trout, as being in Wyoming i was looking forward to that, and chose that restaurant because trout was on the menu. But instead of rainbow trout I got what I think was Steelhead, which I buy at my local grocery store back in New England! My husband ordered the flat iron steak which was done perfectly medium rare. All in all, this newish eatery
We had an excellent time at 43 North. Ritchie Billingham's devotion to creating gourmet dishes that can't be found anywhere else in Jackson makes this restaurant always fun. When I visit my favorite restaurants in Jackson, I typically order the same thing every time. At 43 North I've never had the same thing twice. Keep fighting the good fight Ritchie!
I really love the food at 43 North. Imagination, quality and diversity are all fantastic. If they were on The Square or even on Broadway (like the Bistro) they would be jammed every night Maybe they should have changed their name when they changed from burgers, beer and bands to a more upscale high quality restaurant. For whatever reason, they seem to stay undiscovered. If you want a GREAT restaurant, reasonable prices that is not impossible to get a reservation at, go to 43. Really. Do it. I have no ties, do not know the owner or staff, I just love their food! I consider it better than Snake River, Bistro, on par with Blue Lion. REALLY worth trying if you only remember what they were years ago.
We had a delicious, special dinner at 43 North! I had the prosciutto wrapped halibut! Loved it! My husband had the pork chop and my son had the stuffed prawns. We all enjoyed our entrees! Plus we were given a free bottle of wine as part of their special. While we were dining a huge group of tired looking fire fighters came in to eat. 43 North opened up the entire back room to them. Everyone applauded when they entered the restaurant. It gave me a warm feeling to know that 43 North was showing appreciation for these selfless, hard working people who literally saved our community!!
a nice surprise just down the street from Snow King and not in the chaos of Jackson center. excellent food, nice atmosphere and good service. Bar/outdoor scene is separated with upstairs and deck so not to disturb diners and even so a calm bar scene. Enjoyed it so much we made a 2nd trip on our last night to be sure it would be a good meal.
We chose this restaurant based on the online information, and the setting was nice but otherwise our experience was poor. We arrived on time for our reservation, we're seated quickly, but wait service was very slow from what seemed to be under-staffing. No one took our order for 15 minutes, we received no food, not even our appetizer, until after sitting for 40 minutes. The longer the wait lasted to order, the lower in price we looked for choices, for fear the entrees would suffer in quality as well. All we ended up ordering were burgers, which did come with cold fries and neither were cooked to order. All we wanted was to leave.
Had 8pm resie. got there 745. really wanted pizza (as menu online stated) we were seated at table in main restaurant. No pizza there. snooty waiter told us pizza only upstairs. then told us the stairs were that way. went upstairs and asked if we seat ourselves. server then asked if we were told downstairs that they had no pizza, they were out and had been "crazy busy". i told her no and she said that the hostess should have told us or wait maybe she had gone home.
terrible experience. rude people, and no communication within the restaurant.
The duck special on our Saturday night dinner was under cooked and the mashed potatoes on several of our groups dinner had a dry, instant flavor. We'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again in a few months. The facility is stunning, at the base of Snow King, with beautiful views. The service was decent and the wine list was okay. Pure foodies might want to pass on this place, but the location and views are worth checking out.
43 North is one of the hidden gems of dining in Jackson. Very good food and not too busy. Best deck in town. The night we were there recently they were short staffed so service was slow, but we've been there several times and normally service is good. Recommended!
Excellent from the salads and appetizers, straight thru to the entrees. Great location, thorough wine selection, and a nice facility. We had heirloom tomatoes as well as the tuna spoons, and my whole group liked each one. Our entrees were all excellent from the salmon to the scallop and lobster biscuits, my whole table raved about the food. That is a position that few restaurants get from us! Will be back for sure, hopefully sooner than later! Excellent waitstaff and the chef interfacing with us was really special. Try this one you won't be disappointed!!
AMAZING... I was so IMPRESSED.. The food was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. I was a little surprised that it was not just packed on a Thursday night but then again the Chef probably would not have bin able to come out and chat with us. I must say 43 North is the best keep secret in Jackson...I'll be back
We had a wonderful Valentines Day dinner, w. lobster and steak that were cooked to perfection .. then returned a few evenings later for a great seafood dinner of halibut, shrimp, and lobster ... and a good bottle of wine ... all the while watching night skiers on the Snow King Mountain ... wonderful dining experience.
43 North is quickly becoming one of Jackson's "go to" restaurants on equal footing if not better than Snake Rive Grille, Trio, Rendezvous Bistro or the Blue Lion. The owner/chef has worked on a menu that has a foundation of great dishes and then he provides daily specials that keep us locals coming back with regularity. For the visitors in the valley, it may be a bit off the walking path but it is well worth the trip.
We went as a family party of 6 with an out of town friend and had a blast. The food was excellent as well as the service. The place is beautiful and is at the base of the in town Ski Hill so it has a fabulous view. They have their own parking lot so that was a bonus. Awesome fireplace too. I highly recommend the nightly additions to the menu, even though the menu has some highlights as well. I have been to brunch twice so far, it is served Sat. and Sun. it is yummy!!
Amazing variety of clever dishes, like lobster rice, biscuits and lobster gravy, wonderful rack of lamb. Service is quick and served with style. Don't miss dinner at 43 North!! Lunch is great too ... and it's right across the street from the ski hill for those needing a warm up toddy!!
