Library IV Ratings and Reviews
We had a mixture of reviews of the food. Some people thoroughly enjoyed their selection; other not. The French Onion soup was 'OK' but the broth could use more flavor. Of the 5 people ordering filet, three were not happy; the other two were ecstatic. The crab cake was good. The salad bar doesn't have as much of a selection of fruit as Library II has. Desserts were very good. Our server was friendly.
We have loved this restaurant since 1986 and are still loving it. The owner, Brian, has done an excellent job with the building inside and out. Salad bar is so phenomenal and the food is amazing. We look forward to going every time we make a reservation. Great drinks and desserts make it even better.
Not impressed at all. Everything we had was basically tasteless. Service was great. All the employees very friendly. Crab and Lobster bisque had no flavor. Tasted like flour. My wife and I both had steaks and although cooked nicely, really had no flavor.
This is our first time dining here. My daughter and I came here to celebrate my birthday. I'm highly recommend this place!
My waiter was very friendly and very helpful. We met the chef while we're ordering our dinner. Totally different styles restaurant, you'll walk to the dinner order area and order your dinner with the chef. Then all you can eat salad bar. Surprisingly the waiter told us that he owner is buying me the cake for my birthday! And we met him too, nice people here.
This is a tale of the "good news and the bad news".
The good news is, the Library IV is probably one of the nicest of the Library restaurants I have been to! It was clean, more modern looking but yet had the "charm" of the books and the like. Also on the good, the staff was friendly and attentive and the salad bar was fresh and full of choices.
For the bad news, I hate to say it but the steaks were just, well, eh. My girlfriend and I both had the Sirloin and both agreed it was very bland. Even some salt and pepper couldn't help it. It was cooked as we requested (medium rare) but it was just pretty flavorless. Honestly, I could cook a better steak at home for a heck of a lot cheaper. For their price point, I was expecting better. Sadly, my GF and I left deeply disappointed.
Will I try it again? Maybe. Perhaps it was an off night. In the meantime, I'll stick to my own steak at home.
Overpriced, salad bar was a mess, needed to be refreshed with food items. We were told we could choose either a baked potato or rice for a side with our steak. After we got our meal we saw several tables getting twice baked potatoes or fries with their meal. Was not a very good experience for the price we paid. Two people one appitizer, stuffed mushroom which were very small for $10.00, we each had a steak, total of three beers and the bill was $100.00. Very expensive for the quality and atmosphere. Once we left we remembered why we hadn't been there in years. Probably won't return.
Had a fabulous dinner with my hubby and sister in law! Great salad bar and our dinners were perfection! Brian stopped by our table to visit which made our even complete! Cannot wait to go back! Servers are phenomenal and drinks were perfection! Great attention to service and very attentive to customers!
As always, we had a great experience at Library IV. I was expecting a larger crowd on a holiday Friday evening, so it was a pleasant surprise to get a reservation at the time we wanted and to be seated and served immediately. Just keep going back because it's always a great experience.
We've been here countless times, with usually having great food and service. This time my filet was well done when I ordered medium, and the service was not quite up to par. We were last there a few months ago, and both times we were able to get a last minute reservation. This was something we couldn't get in the past. Ownership may want to look at my comments above as to the reason why that may be possible.
We went for my birthday on a friday nite expecting a good steak dinner and a nice quite atmosphere which is usually the norm here ,except for when the chuckie cheese group came in with there kid running around ,knocking over drinks, hollering , someone coughing constantly all over . I know this wasn't the Librarys fought or the wait staff ,who you could see was also annoyed but, the food was good as always , just wish we could have enjoyed the evening better .
The Library is known for their selection of meats that are cut to order...no disappointment there. The prime rib and rack of lamb were excellent. We also had the halibut special which was excellent.
Service was good at the start but then it seemed like we were forgotten and it took forever to get the check. The quality of the meal outweighs the service.
Had onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes with mignon tips, very tender. I need more flavor, garlic, rosemary, or beef flavor in liquid something. If I closed my eyes and chewed, I felt like upscale dinner. Kudos to prep or purchasing of their meat, it was over and beyond tender! It just needed other flavors. tomatoes were mush, not enough mushroom.
Oysters Rockefeller, spinach , cheese taste. Had some down on St Augustine Beach a couple of weeks ago, not just the taste of two ingredients.
