Library IV Ratings and Reviews
The steaks are fork tender; the ambiance is relaxing...the sides are just sides. Pricey place. Was a bit disappointed as a table of like 12 came in & sat near us with the guys wearing flashing NYs Eve hats. They sat down n the lites were literally in my eyes. I tried moving my chair but felt awkward as i was in isle..i then brought it to our server's attn..she got one managr to speak us offering to move us then another manager came out. I asked her if she cld just ask them to remove them.(the waitress agreed it was rude if them)..she was reluctant but asked them..the loud guy was like no prob! They all shut off the lites. Wht bugged me is they were more intent to move us...a 70.00 table rather then risk offending a table of 12..300.00 plus. Smh! Wimpy imho. Not impressed with the service.
My Wife and I have been going there for New Years Eve and other occasions for many years. Steak and prime rib are always great. This year we tried the Lobster Tails. They were called Canadian Lobster tails and were so good. Tender, sweet and juicy.
Library IV is one of the few really good restaurants in South Jersey (south of Cherry Hill).
Salad bare is also excellent with much to choose from.
Charged for two bottles of wine (over $50) that another tables ordered. Manager called to admit the mistake and I had to drive back out to get a refund. Had no clue who our server was. One person took our drink order and each dinner was brought out by a different person. They automatically added a 20% gratuity to our bill even though two of the people in our party were 4 and 5 years old. Worse experience I’ve had at the Library IV. I truly hope that they are no going down a bad road.
Service was excellent, but I was disappointed with our food and the salad bar. The only choice was romaine lettuce, no iceberg, which they usually serve. I ordered a filet, and the cut was very fatty. My husband got the prime rib, which he said was very juicy, but it was flavorless. This place is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is excellent, and other times it’s just okay.
We've been eating here since the early 80's. We've never gotten a bad meal! The owner is a really nice guy, the cooks are great, and his staff is friendly and always on top of whatever you may need. :-) It has a relaxed atmosphere and is a nice place to celebrate any occasion.
Great place - one of our favorites. My husband loves steak and I love fish and you cannot go wrong with either here. Around the bar is a little more 'lively' so we like to sit out in the addition since its a bit quieter. The service is always good and the management/owner always seems visible in case there are any issues. We'll be back.
We had a mixture of reviews of the food. Some people thoroughly enjoyed their selection; other not. The French Onion soup was 'OK' but the broth could use more flavor. Of the 5 people ordering filet, three were not happy; the other two were ecstatic. The crab cake was good. The salad bar doesn't have as much of a selection of fruit as Library II has. Desserts were very good. Our server was friendly.
We have loved this restaurant since 1986 and are still loving it. The owner, Brian, has done an excellent job with the building inside and out. Salad bar is so phenomenal and the food is amazing. We look forward to going every time we make a reservation. Great drinks and desserts make it even better.
Not impressed at all. Everything we had was basically tasteless. Service was great. All the employees very friendly. Crab and Lobster bisque had no flavor. Tasted like flour. My wife and I both had steaks and although cooked nicely, really had no flavor.
This is our first time dining here. My daughter and I came here to celebrate my birthday. I'm highly recommend this place!
My waiter was very friendly and very helpful. We met the chef while we're ordering our dinner. Totally different styles restaurant, you'll walk to the dinner order area and order your dinner with the chef. Then all you can eat salad bar. Surprisingly the waiter told us that he owner is buying me the cake for my birthday! And we met him too, nice people here.
This is a tale of the "good news and the bad news".
The good news is, the Library IV is probably one of the nicest of the Library restaurants I have been to! It was clean, more modern looking but yet had the "charm" of the books and the like. Also on the good, the staff was friendly and attentive and the salad bar was fresh and full of choices.
For the bad news, I hate to say it but the steaks were just, well, eh. My girlfriend and I both had the Sirloin and both agreed it was very bland. Even some salt and pepper couldn't help it. It was cooked as we requested (medium rare) but it was just pretty flavorless. Honestly, I could cook a better steak at home for a heck of a lot cheaper. For their price point, I was expecting better. Sadly, my GF and I left deeply disappointed.
Will I try it again? Maybe. Perhaps it was an off night. In the meantime, I'll stick to my own steak at home.
