Liberty Tavern Ratings and Reviews
It’s advertised as having a brunch menu so that’s what we were searching for!! So excited!!! Got there at noon and no brunch!!! Waiter had no idea what we were talking about. So on their lunch menu they had brisket and waffles......close enough??? Sorta....we asked for everything on separate plates and so at least we got some waffles!!!
Waiter was very good, ambiance beautiful and they did acknowledge my friends birthday!!!
Place was empty on a Saturday service so erratic they gave 15 percent off with apologies. For nearly twenty bucks a cheeseburger could have been more special. Still lowest prices within miles though we were informed online menu used to make reservation 3 years old. Oh well
My wife and I stopped here before a show at the theater and were amazed at what a little gem this place was tucked inside the hotel.
The wait staff was excellent, courteous and friendly. We only some appetizers and wine, due to time constraint, but plan on returning to try more of the food.
WE KEEP COMING BACK! Liberty Tavern has become our tradition. A group of good friends that meet every few months continually agree that this is the best place near O'Hare airport to meet. The food is truly great and the service is even better! Located in the Hilton Hotel. And plenty of parking in the adjacent garage. Be sure to ask to have your parking ticket validated so that it doesn't cost you.
Side note: We have grown quite attached to our server, Kenny, and always request him.
Friendly check in by host. Waiter very helpful and knowledgeable. Food very pricey from where we come from. We had soup and appetizer very good.
Ordered hamburger to be medium well and on a toasted bun. I specified toasted bun top and bottom and waiter assured me they always come that way. Burger came white cold bun medium rare not very warm. And at this point waiter never came back to check on us that we had our food. Bun was blood soaked mushed on plate - I took one bite is was raw to me. I had only one bite our or burger left it on plate and when waiter took my plate away he saw my entire burger with one bite never asking me what was wrong or anything. Gave me our check. Not impressed at all. Very disappointed for soup, appetizer, burger for $60.00.
I got a reservation for this place thinking that other places would be full for a weekend convention. Seemed nice and fancy. We were one of about 5 groups of people in the whole place so we expected a good time.
Our food took more than 30 min to come out which is acceptable if the food was worth the time. My chicken sandwich was very dry and I drank all of my water but the waitress was gone for what seemed like 30 min. My friends food was unevenly cooked as well. The only decent thing was the reuben. But hard to mess that up honestly.
So my experience was bad and I won't come again.
Kenny, the waiter is funny and very attentive. The food is excellent, even though they don't have any sugar free desserts (hint hint). The Rustic Pot Pie is heavenly and is a great ending to a very long and hard day. The breakfast bar is wonderful and the made to order omelets are the best. Thank you for great experiences in your restaurant. We will be back!
THE GOOD: The food was great; very trendy surroundings; Kenny our server was a delight; the hostess was warm and pleasant. We ordered the short rib dinner, blackened salmon special, and margarita pizzas. All were delicious.
THE BAD: Parking! Seriously folks- Not everyone that dines there is a guest at the hotel. We had 4 people drive here to meet for dinner and all of us struggled to find parking that wasn't $30.00. They really need to correct this, and fast. It is the only thing that would keep me from coming again.
It's a hotel restaurant. Instead of feeling excited about a great meal, I felt like I was a tourist stuck there because my room was upstairs and I had no idea where to go in Chicago. Certainly not a destination spot. We did have attentive service. But then again, I had the feeling that if our waiter wasn't serving, he'd be doing something else for the hotel.
The food is good, but not always what you'd expect. Example, we ordered muscles in a white wine sauce...usually those come as whole muscles in the shell and a shell bowl. These were huge and were served more like the way you'd get oysters on a half shell. While the waiter was very nice and attentive, he didn't tell us the chicken pot pie would take a lot longer than the other food, so our friend ended up having to leave most of her food to catch a flight and our food was served warm. Liberty Tavern isn't bad, but I'd probably go to another place in the area before going back.
We went to Liberty Tavern before a show at the Rosemont Theater. Although we reviewed the menu on line prior to our visit, we were happily surprised how delicious the food was and the presentation of it.
The atmosphere was wonderful. We sat directly in front of the gas fireplace - a perfect spot on a chilly night.
The service was very attentive and friendly.
I would return in a heartbeat.
