We'd have had a better dining experience at a homeless shelter. The buffet was not in the usual dining room where we had enjoyed two previous Thanksgiving dinners, which apparently is undergoing renovations but haphazardly tossed together in a 2nd floor meeting room. Makeshift dining tables with oversized tablecloths were set up in the hallway outside. Many of the trays were empty; we had to find someone to let them know and then wait for more to be brought out. The food was good but completely cold. When we complained to a manager, he dashed off "to see about getting the trays heated properly" but didn't bother to apologize. We had to ask our waiter if there was a microwave available.
Before making the reservation I visited the Liberty Tavern website. Neither their website nor Open Table's made any mention of the renovations or inconvenience.
Hilton should be ashamed. Our waiter plainly was and comped our meal.
We went for Thanksgiving. restaurant was closed and thanksgiving buffet was in ballroom. It was a big disappointment compared to prior years.
My friend in I really enjoyed our experience for Thanksgiving at Liberty Tavern. I would have give it five stars on everything but my goodness: no mashed potatoes on with a Turkey, dressing and gravy dinner? Only cold chunked up fried potatoes that had sweet apples in them. And did I say they were cold. That was a huge disappointment to me. They did have a lovely sweet potato casserole that was perfect. But they should have really had mashed potatoes and the meal would have been perfect! And I did think it strange that there were no vegetables. Other then a green salad and a pasta salad. No corn, no green bean casserole. I thought that odd.
The meat however, was perfection. The turkey was moist and savory, the prime rib was fork tender along with a wonderful horseradish sauce. I would go again for the meat alone!!! Our server was very good and I enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Oh one more thing that would improve is either the size or shape of the two top tables. They were too small and too short to get ones legs under. My friend and I are both tall women and it was impossible to get comfortable at the table.
But I enjoyed the meal and ate more then I should, I would possibly go again next year. If they just had some mashed potatoes!!
Let me start by saying I have spent several Holidays eating at the Liberty Tavern and have had excellent experiences. Today, that was not the case. The meal was served in the ballroom area of the hotel this year but i do not think that was a factor in my issues.
There seemed to be plenty of staff, both wait staff and folks in the Buffett area, but our waiter was mostly absent and we had to ask others for drink refills. The food itself was warm at best. Prime rib, stuffing, turkey and the gravy, everything. No one was tending to the food keeping it stirred and hot. Needles to say the experience was not was I expecting. I will at some point come back to try again but for Easter we will be trying the Marriott.
I was disappointed this year. We have come there at least 10 times for Easter, and thanksgiving. I will be looking for some place else this upcoming Easter. Moving it up stairs it took away from it. Roaming around that ballroom to find your food was not ideal at all. It made it seem like there was no food. I was kind of embarrassed because I brought my daughters new BF and he is a manager for several local restaurants. He made the comment that we would wear off the calories just getting our food. There were tons of empty tables and we were sat at the second from the end. The person seating us knew I was having a difficult time getting to the table and still she took us so far.
The choice of food seemed very limited compared to previous yrs. the corn bread stuffing had a lot to be desired. The prime roast was weird mainly because the worker had a knife that was so dull. Went back to our table and I could cut it with the butter knife faster then he did with a carving knife. We all laughed at our table because of that. The shrimp was over cooked. I don’t eat turkey so can only go with my daughter who said it was so dry. She took her plate back in and put gravy on it to eat it. She doesn’t eat red meat and the salmon was over cooked as well. Only 2 types of salad dressing and neither a vinaigrette was a bad call as well. Dorothy lynch seriously. The pumpkin brûlée top was not crunchy. You could sink your spoon in, no crunch. The other desserts we had were good. We had lots being we didn’t eat much of the savory side of your buffet. Having breakfast food was disappointing as well. A $30 Thanksgiving dinner with bacon and eggs is weird.
So between moving it upstairs and the difficulty in getting up there and the food we will not be back. We all said that we could have been as happier if we went to Golden Corral, not impressed this yr.
I am giving this review only to tell you If your count is down next yr.
Dinner was moved to the banquet rooms instead of the normal dining area. Food temp was an issue due to the move. Service was excellent!
We have been to Liberty Tavern many times this had to be the worst. 1. Ordered a martini on the rocks and it came as a regular martini no rocks. I was billed for a double at a whopping $22. I did not order a double and had I known I would not have ordered two but yes the bill for my 2 martini on the rocks came to $44. When I asked for validation for parking which open table had said they would for a 4 hour period the servers and the manager said they do not validate. Will not be going back.
Made 1230 lunch reservations. Went through the hassle of parking in garage at hotel. Went in to restaurant. Not a soul in sight except two people with watery drinks at the bar. Walked around the restaurant looking for people. Went to front desk and they called restaurant. No one answered. Left to another restaurant down the street. Frustrated with not only the no show staff but also the hassle of parking.
Outstanding! The Omaha Steaks and the Fish n Chips were excellent. Our service was friendly and fast.
Going to eat here was very uneventful. The food wasn't as good as we had hoped and very pricey. We won't be back. Best part was earning a 1000 points on Open table.
Terribly average. Maybe it would be different at a different time of day. Saturday lunch was a boring "hotel lobby restaurant" atmosphere with decidedly average food. "THE" tomato soup should skip the "THE".
We were there on a very busy Sunday morning, but having a reservation seems to be a must. I ordered the egg white Fritatta, which they indicated would take 10 minutes, which was fine. However, when this arrived, it was not a fritatta at all, but rather scrambled eggs(not egg whites) in an small, oval cast iron casserole. To the best of my knowledge, a fritatta is supposed to be flat. It tasted OK, but was not what I was expecting.
There was a "pre charity event" crowd in the bar, with a DJ spinning tunes at a level that was 10x louder than the Phil Collins convert at the CHI later that evening. The restaurant is adjacent with no noise barrier, so for the first half of our meal, we leaned across the table and upped our volume to talk. Luckily the crowd made its way upstairs to the ballroom and the DJ turned down the volume.
We were seated at a very small table for 2 up against a wall with very uncomfortable chairs. It was okay once I angled my chair so that I was sitting back in the chair with my legs crossed. But sitting normally in the chair for an hour and a half would not have been fun.
Our server was pleasant, her only faux pas was to drop off our bottle of wine and she's be back t open it (about 10 minutes later). Luckily it was a twist top, so we didn't wait.
The food was better than we expected. So, good marks for that. It took a tad longer to get it out, but not egregiously. The server offered to comp us our main courses "because of the wait", but we said no. It wasn't close to being a problem. The price was fine.
I don't know if the ridiculous noise level was just an aberration, but I think that there are better options downtown for a pre-concert dinner.
Great food and service. Watch out on the drinks - 3 off menu drinks cost $54
Last minute night out pre symphony, food was all good, no complaints. Would eat there again
Went for Omaha Restaurant Week. Food and service were both exemplary. Highly recommend
We ate here before a concert. The location is perfect for an event at the CHI Health Center arena. It was packed but the filet was perfectly cooked
We went for lunch. It was nice and quiet. The service was prompt and they have a ice of foods to please different palates. The shrimp and grits were very tasty and the shrimp well cooked although overall the dish was a little oily. That didn’t stop me from enjoying all the cheesy goodness of the grits, though! It was just a nice, comfortable place to have a sit-down lunch and enjoy the cool air during the hot summer.
Great food & service. Enjoyed our wedding rehearsal dinner!
Waitress was overworked. Had approx 20 tables to service. Was out of four items on limited selection menu. I got the last fish and chips at 6 pm. Took over an hour to get food and when we arrived the were only 6 tables occupied. Other tables got food before us and they came in after us. Manager never came over to ask us about our dining experience. Saw her standing in back of restaurant and she rarely helped her over worked staff.
Even though it was a concert night and quite busy in the restaurant, our experience was a great one! Our server was wonderful, very caring and concerned to be sure our experience was enjoyable.
We stopped in for dinner on way to see Chris Stapleton great time and very close to the concert.
Restaurant is looking very tired and not very clean.
Convenient restaurant located next to CHI Health Arena. Perfect location for dinner and drinks. Limited menu but a good selection. Food was delicious. Great service but it was a bit on the slow side as they were very busy with a concert going on that evening.
Restaurant furnishings very dusty and dirty. Poor service from wait staff. Brought wrong order to our table twice during the meal. Salmon was sent back due to under cooking.
I don't believe the food was as good as it was the previous time we dined with you. The food was OK, just a little disappointed.
Excellent Steak - the Filet Mignon from Omaha Steaks is flavored with Coffee Bean rub. I found it very enjoyable. Nice wine list and service was friendly.
Impressive - Lunch was well crafted and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Wedge salad was delicious. Great place for a business lunch.
There was a 1000pt special to dine here so my Fiance and I took the 9pm time slot for the 1000pts. Turns out the restaurant was closed, but they keep the hotel bar open and served food there... The grilled cheese was awful (how do you mess this up) and I can't say my pork chop was anything special for $30. The service was awful. The waitress forgot about us and was paying attention to the guest in the bar. We were driving through Omaha in a box truck and parking was almost impossible. It would have been nice to know it was a hotel restaurant and that the actual restaurant was closed. Not sure if we even got our points.
No bread was offered, no desert offered, limited sides. No coke products. Steak had way too much fat. No filet on the menu.
Excellent Omaha steaks and Oberon by the glass. Friendly service.
Our Server was awesome, she knew that out dining time was limited and she was very attentative!
Very pleasant. Relaxed and casual. Above average food and friendly service.
Outstanding all around! Great service and tasty food, perfect for our business lunch. Will be back and will definitely recommend!
Each year we have come for brunch on significant holidays, Mother's Day, etc. Every year has been wonderful. This year the food selection was diminished and there were not as many offerings for children, which we have four. I did not feel like it was a very good value. The wait staff was excellent as well as the ambience. Thanks for soliciting my opinion
Perfect for Brunch - the new Chef has really done a great job with the delicious offerings.
Our server was nice, foodtasted good, but the floors were filthy. It was BH Shareholders weekend, but it wasn't busy at all. No reason the floors should have been so dirty. The bathroom seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a week. No trash on the floor there, but it smelled.
Very relaxing dining. The Chicken beast w pico and salmon with shrimp was delicious. Very friendly staff. We return every year for lunch while attending Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meetings.
Holiday Brunch - was terrific! Food was delicious and the offerings were bountiful. Highly recommend a holiday brunch here. We've been coming here for years.
There is no restaurant. We were very disappointed to learn that the staff has changed, no one was there and the server was very honest when ask and said we may want to go somewhere else.
