My fiance and I had a lovely lunch date this past Saturday; we sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather. The staff was exceptional, friendly and willing to help when needed. We ended up waiting around 45 minutes for our food to get to us. Other tables around us were getting their food & drinks much quicker. I do have a nut allergy; so I wasn't sure if they were being extra cautious of how they made our food. My fiance and I weren't looking to spend 2 hours on a Saturday having lunch. But at least the atmosphere was nice.
The service and the food are excellent. We ate outside and were very comfortable.
Always enjoy meeting friends at Liberty House. Service usually excellent. This time our waiter was disinterested and mediocre. Surprising since the restaurant was not busy. Food did not disappoint. Great burgers.
Excellent food efficient servers great location. A must place for a great meal.
Overall very negative experience. Food took an hour I would have hoped our waiter could have provided one round of drinks on the house for cost of drinks and amount of time it took for a birthday
Everything was amazing and the waitress was on her A game!
The service is always wonderful, the venue has stunning views of the skyline, and the food is absolutely delicious.
Delicious food and great service. Window views are beautiful. 11 am brunch was quiet.
We loved the location, the food was excellent and our server was outstanding. The first server I have ever left more than 20% for.
Food was good, wait-staff was attentive; very noisy and crowded; couldn't really appreciate the view of NYC despite all the windows; Very expensive for an Easter buffet
Food was quite good. Dining room extremely noisy. We could not enjoy conversation. A very pretty view from dining room.
We started the night off being optimistic, but went home very disappointed. It was my wife's birthday, and I selected Liberty House for it's view. I requested a table by the window and was told it could be upwards of a 40 minute wait. Since it was a Saturday night, that didn't seem unreasonable, so we decided to sit at the bar to have a drink and wait. Our bartender Evan was very engaging, there was a keyboardist playing Top 40 music, so we were off to a good start. We were pleasantly surprised when maybe after 20 minutes had gone by, that our table was ready. We settled up at the bar and relocated. Our table didn't have much of a view at all, which was disappointing, but then the music kicked in from one of the three private affairs going on in other parts of the venue. All we could hear was the booming thud of the bass, which made it very difficult for us to hold a conversation. We finished up as quickly as we could and left. If the restaurant was closer to home, I might be willing to give it another chance because we did enjoy our meal and it looked like there was a nice patio area that would make warm-weather dining enjoyable, but because of the distance, I don't think we'll be going back. The "crowning moment" of the evening for me was after finishing drinking from the glass of water I had been given at the bar, I noticed the lipstick smear on it.
The restaurant is nice the service was great but the food was not that great especial for the price they charge. The drinks are NYC prices which I don’t mind paying but was surprised a round on the sever or bartender when celebrating a special occasion was not offered. We will try it again but most likely for brunch/lunch not for dinner.
We first ate at at Liberty House Restaurant during Hudson Restaurant week. We were very satisfied with the food, service and ambiance. This time we returned with friends and had Steven as our waiter again. He provided excellent service. Of course the food was delicious and all four of enjoyed our meals. Even though it is a distance we plan a on returning often.
Amazing food!!!
It was an awesome experience. From the breathtaking scenery to the excellent service & delicious food!!! I will return VERY soon. Loved it!!!
Mediocre service and tough, overcooked steak. Very disappointing.
The waiter only came three times (when we sat down, ordered, and ordered once more ). For the money you spend there for two people; it came to over 150 dollars without tip; there should be more attentiveness. Also, the waiter did not give us any drink options, and said we needed to go to the bar to order a drink. There were wine menus at our table. Didn’t make much sense.
The food though was fantastic; enjoyed my appetizer, main course, and desert.
The dress code was pretty bad though. People were wearing ripped jeans when my significant other and I were dressed appropriately for such an occasion.
I would like stricter dress code. It’s a nice five star restaurant, not an Outback Steakhouse.
Comfortable, nice jazz band, great location, we were not rushed, pleasant and attentive staff
From the moment you walk into the restaurant, service is great. The waiters constantly keep everything moving without getting in the way of having your meal. Their attention to detail is great. Something as simple as cleaning a crumb of your table in between a appetizers and your main course is a great gesture. I would definitely recommend anyone to dine here.
Took my boyfriend out for his birthday. Food was delicious! Started with apple cider braised mussels, I had the steak frites and my boyfriend had the gnocchi. My steak was a little dry/chewy but everything else was perfect! we really enjoyed the mussels and his gnocchi!! Delicious. Service was excellent as well. Will definitely come back!!
The service and food at Liberty House never disappoints. We had such a lovely day.
Everything was great from the moment we walked in.
We went for lunch during restaurant week - great deal - calamari & chicken lollipops were delicious, as was the salmon entre! Service was excellent also - thank you!
My wife and I ordered the steak for two which was cooked a little under what we ordered (medium-rare rather than medium) but we were so hungry we ate it without complaint. It was delicious as we're the sides of portobello mushroom fries and brussel sprouts. For dessert we had the banana tart which was not too sweet and really creamy - perfect after such a meat centric dinner.
We love the view at liberty house and have always been meaning to have dinner there since we got married there over 2 years ago. The only sad part is that it took us so long to come back. Well definitely be here more often in the future.
We went to Liberty House during Hudson Restaurant Week. The food was excellent. Our waiter Steven D was very attentive. Cocktails at the bar were also top notch. Of course the view is great. Highly recommended for any occasion. We will put this on our rotation list!
We really enjoyed our lunch there. Enjoyed speaking with Carlo.
The food quality was adequate. Nothing to write home about. The prices of drinks and food are a little on the high side compared to the portions. Service was very good, prompt and attentive. The view is spectacular especially when you can sit outside. Very good parking but be sure to get your parking ticket stamped. Would recommend as a great lunch meeting place.
Waiter was not attentive and kept disappearing to watch football game. Table next to us came in after and had main course before we had appetizers. Once food came it was excellent as usual
For a special occasion dinner we spent over $300 on a three course meal that was inedible. Cold rubbery food, bitter tasting, came so quickly in order to get a new group in, therefore must have been sitting around on an assembly line. Lovely view etc, but there is no attempt to match the quality of food with the high prices. Across the canal you can get MUCH better for for half the price. DO NOT recommend
The service was awful - if not for the view, this place would not be worth navigating that drive through Jersey City.
Great service and food. I recommend the flat iron steak. My guests enjoyed the salmon and risotto entrees
My wife and I had a wonderful anniversary lunch. Exceeded our expectation.
Too loud because of wedding in the room next door
Food was excellent. Service impeccable. Festive atmosphere
We were there for an anniversary dinner. It was a very nice night, the view was great, the service was great, and the food was amazing. So over all it was a great night.
Dining area - Super tight of a space between tables.
Food - Main course was OK.. desert was terrible, ordered some chocolate cake brownie, it was hard as a rock. My kid when she was 5 made better brownies then that..
Service - Aweful, Waitress breath wreaks of cigarettes. I ordered flat iron steak and my wife had the duck, we were cutting the meat with bread butter knives!!!! And finally when we were on our last few bites of our main course, the waitress comes by and was like "oh I'm sorry about forgeting to give you guys steak knives". In addition, our table had crumbs from when they served us bread when we first sat. Asked waitress to have our table cleaned, she never did. Finally before we had our desert I asked the food runner to clean the table. Instead of using one of those special restaurant crumb sweeper, he quickly grabs my linen napkins starts to batting the crumps off the table and onto our laps. I was like "what just happened"..
I proposed to my fiancé outside of the restaurant and then immediately had brunch with my family. This place is amazing. Amazing views of the New York skyline that are uninterrupted. The hostesses and wait staff are some of the best I’ve ever encountered. ANNE helped arrange the most memorable day of my life. Their food is also top notch. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant to my friends. We will always come back if we are in town
This place never disappoints with its breathtaking view and fresh menu that seems to tweak a tad with the change of seasons.
Outstanding Location with great NYC view. Food is really good.
