Liberty House Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is great because of its location especially in good weather, where you can sit outside and look at the NYC skyline. I've been there twice. The first time I had mussels and salad which were good. The most recent time I had the crab cake and was very disappointed. There was way too much filler and way too little crab. It's still worth going, but strongly suggest having something other crab cake.
A walk on the Promenade after lunch was delightful.
Obviously the view is why you choose this restaurant and it lives up to its expectations. Beautiful for watching the sunset over drinks. Outside seating is first come, first serve as the weather is unpredictable. Food and service is good. Pretty good value based on location.
The only thing going for this restaurant is the obstructed view of lower Manhattan.
The wait staff are well intentioned, poorly trained, incompetents. The food is mediocre, and the recipes are poorly conceived. The meats are tender but tasteless, and of poor quality. Expect to pay around $100 per person for one drink, an appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee, tax and tip: grossly overpriced for lousy service and mediocre food, with no ambiance in an out of the way place difficult to access. I do not understand how a tourist trap like this can thrive in the NYC Metro Dining Market, where world class dining is commonplace.
I will not be back.
The service was excellent; our waiter was friendly and polite. The food, however, was somewhat disappointing. The appetizer of lobster cake and dessert of mango and passion fruit mousse were tasty enough, but our entrees of seared halibut was a bit dry, the braised beef short ribs stringy.
Seated immediately at an outdoor table as requested. Service was prompt and courteous without being obtrusive. Food and drinks were excellent and portions were generous, not always the case at upscale restaurants. Highly recommended for a special occasion or an enjoyable meal.
Stopped here for lunch after a tour of Statue of Liberty. Very convenient to Liberty Park and the ambiance was very nice. Just so happened to be restaurant week, so we were able to take advantage of a set menu for a reasonable price. My only complaint was that the service was a little bit slower than I like. We didn't get a bread basket until 15 minutes after being seated. The wait staff seem to work as a "team", instead of one dedicated server per table. I have seen that concept work well in other restaurants, but they have a few kinks to work out.
On a pier inside Liberty State Park with a wonderful up-close view of the Freedom Tower and lower Manhattan. Unique cocktails, fine food, courteous and attentive service. A little out of the way for us Queens County NY people, but I expect to return sometime soon.
It was the perfect place to celebrate my 13th Wedding Anniversary, from the restaurant host to the Waiter impeccable service, Thank you for making our Anniversary so special the Attention to detail from our waiter was amazing. By far my favorite restaurant 💕
Great food, but service stinks. Too few waiters. Ours was nice but slow and it put a damper on the experience. They should fully staff the place and open all the seats up (more than half of the inside was unseated and just empty, while we and many others waited one hour)
My husband and I got married at Liberty House 4 years ago, and have since gone back for our anniversary each year. We are never disappointed. The service, food, and ambiance are always top notch. We absolutely love it and are so quick to recommend Liberty House to others.
The view is outstanding, the food is great, and the wait staff attend to every detail. Being able to have dinner inside, then follow it up with dessert and cocktails out back makes an evening at Liberty House much more than just a meal out. Its an experience everyone will remember forever.
A lovely evening! Very good food (the seared sea scallops were outstanding), very good service, and a magical view. I have been there for lunch twice before and eaten outside which is a real treat but it was just too hot. The server, Xavier, was very helpful both explaining and suggesting for each course. We were with good friends and there was no rushing as we enjoyed our meal and our conversations.
Can't wait to go back!
