Liberty House Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Dining area - Super tight of a space between tables.
Food - Main course was OK.. desert was terrible, ordered some chocolate cake brownie, it was hard as a rock. My kid when she was 5 made better brownies then that..
Service - Aweful, Waitress breath wreaks of cigarettes. I ordered flat iron steak and my wife had the duck, we were cutting the meat with bread butter knives!!!! And finally when we were on our last few bites of our main course, the waitress comes by and was like "oh I'm sorry about forgeting to give you guys steak knives". In addition, our table had crumbs from when they served us bread when we first sat. Asked waitress to have our table cleaned, she never did. Finally before we had our desert I asked the food runner to clean the table. Instead of using one of those special restaurant crumb sweeper, he quickly grabs my linen napkins starts to batting the crumps off the table and onto our laps. I was like "what just happened"..
I proposed to my fiancé outside of the restaurant and then immediately had brunch with my family. This place is amazing. Amazing views of the New York skyline that are uninterrupted. The hostesses and wait staff are some of the best I’ve ever encountered. ANNE helped arrange the most memorable day of my life. Their food is also top notch. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant to my friends. We will always come back if we are in town
The restaurant is great because of its location especially in good weather, where you can sit outside and look at the NYC skyline. I've been there twice. The first time I had mussels and salad which were good. The most recent time I had the crab cake and was very disappointed. There was way too much filler and way too little crab. It's still worth going, but strongly suggest having something other crab cake.
A walk on the Promenade after lunch was delightful.
Obviously the view is why you choose this restaurant and it lives up to its expectations. Beautiful for watching the sunset over drinks. Outside seating is first come, first serve as the weather is unpredictable. Food and service is good. Pretty good value based on location.
The only thing going for this restaurant is the obstructed view of lower Manhattan.
The wait staff are well intentioned, poorly trained, incompetents. The food is mediocre, and the recipes are poorly conceived. The meats are tender but tasteless, and of poor quality. Expect to pay around $100 per person for one drink, an appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee, tax and tip: grossly overpriced for lousy service and mediocre food, with no ambiance in an out of the way place difficult to access. I do not understand how a tourist trap like this can thrive in the NYC Metro Dining Market, where world class dining is commonplace.
I will not be back.
The service was excellent; our waiter was friendly and polite. The food, however, was somewhat disappointing. The appetizer of lobster cake and dessert of mango and passion fruit mousse were tasty enough, but our entrees of seared halibut was a bit dry, the braised beef short ribs stringy.
Seated immediately at an outdoor table as requested. Service was prompt and courteous without being obtrusive. Food and drinks were excellent and portions were generous, not always the case at upscale restaurants. Highly recommended for a special occasion or an enjoyable meal.
