Amazing experience, very welcoming, perfect date night! Food was so delicious!
Libertad was reccommended to me and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the hummus and it was delicious. We also had the asada and it is some of the best we had. The only reason I did not give this a five for food was our tuna dish was very bland.
Been there many times and always terrific. Love the patio. The hummus is the best!
Food excellent, as usual. Ricardo (waiter) was perfect.
Noise level a bit high.
Our second time coming, and it was even more enjoyable than our first time, which we didn't think was possible. The menu had changed and we got to try even more stunning and creative dishes. There is a perfect amount of heat used, nothing too overwhelming, just enough to give a good Latin kick. The service here is always outstanding. Can't wait to come back and try the Sunday brunch, this has become my new favorite restaurant.
Libertad was recommended to me by several people of whom I very much trust, so I was excited to visit for a dinner with friends. It absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. From the amuse-bouche to start the meal, to the refreshing arugula salad and then the AMAZING Branzino, this was by far one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a long time. It's worth making the trip to the suburbs (Skokie) and is as good as any restaurant I've been to in the city. They even surprised my birthday friends with a special dessert treat which was incredibly yummy and unexpected. I would give Libertad 5 stars and would recommend it to everyone. Warning that it is very pricey so it's more for special occasions, but it's worth every penny. I'm still dreaming about my meal.
The food was decent, but seriously overpriced. One of the dishes was a glorified shrimp salad for $25. I appreciate what they are trying to do, but with prices about double than they should be, I doubt we will return.
The food and service are great. The items were a bit pricey since they are shared plates. You could turn a couple of them into single serve dishes but they would be small.
We've been eating at this restaurant for many years. The food is always very good.
The portion size is moderate and the prices have been increasing. Dinner for 2 can run about $100 (with 1 drink per person).
I almost always bring home extra food when I go out for dinner, never have here.
Would eat here more often if the prices were more moderate.
What a find. Innovative and delicious cocktails. Service was prompt and welcoming, and food was prepared expertly. Will be returning to try some of the things we didn't get to order!
Very impressed to see them make a mac and cheese order for a young diner next to us, as well.
Libertarian is constantly very good. There wines are excellent. Our salad was fresh and crisp. The Branzino was very good but a little small for $34.00.
Reliably great food. Be sure to reserve a table early--they can and do fill up.
We discovered that Saturday brunch is not at all crowded whereas Sunday brunch is packed.
Everything was delicious and our server was an absolute gentleman!
Only bad thing was the dish washer cleaning silverware and it was so loud 2 tables had to mive outside. Otherwise great!
Great find in downtown Skokie.
Amazing friendly service from everyone: the host, chef, waiter....
Nice diverse menu: I had the Asada which was great but the fries were too thin and got soggy by the middle of the meal. Wonderful chimichurri sauce.
Salted caramel cake was the delicious sinful finale (serving size was reasonable and healthy).
Overall highly recommend
We are never disappointed by Libertad. The food is excellent, the drinks are inventive (yet simple). The staff is delightful. We've never dined outside, but I know that's an option. We love it there!
Excellent in every way! I highly recommend . The food is simply outstanding.
Terrific modern Mexican cuisine in an energetic setting.
The restaurant gets better every time we come. Food and drinks are the strength. Clearly the size of the space is not big enough for the explosion of talent behind the food and drinks. Worth coming out too and recommend going during off peak hours. It gets packed during the rush times.
Libertad is a neighborhood gem! The food, service and atmosphere are terrific! Always a great meal!
A little hard to find but worth the effort. We ate outside on a wonderful evening. Excellent interesting dishes. Service was perfect, not rushed.
Quaint little place with big flavors and exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly wait staff! We celebrated a birthday here and it was just perfect. One of our party is Gluten free and the waiter knew exactly what to recommend and how various items on the menu could be changed to accommodate the dietary needs. There was absolutely no problem in changing up the short rib with pasta to fresh vegetables. The dish was exceptional as was the Branzino. Best Branzino I have ever had...Moist, flavorful beautifully prepared and presented! One word for the restaurant: EXCELLENT!
Always a wonderful brunch menu on the weekend!
Great, great food. What a find. So casual and relaxed. Wait staff very knowledgeable and friend. High marks!
Love the food, desserts snd drinks. Always a great meal.
The food is always amazing, not the largest menu but every dish seems to be right on. The drinks are also awesome, staff is very service orientated.
Well done Libertad, I'll keep coming back again and again!
Delicious food as usual. Interesting flavors, diff ingredient.
Just two of us - do prefer 4-6 as one gets to try different choices.
Wonderful soft shell crab and delicious Latin lamb shank
Fabulous food and service. Ate outside, which was nice. Wish that the interior was a little cozier. However, maybe on a winter night with candles it is . Highly recommend !
Food is supposedly tapas, but some of the items are so big they are not easy to share (not served as individual portions). Menu should be divided into entrees and tapas. Although tasty, they are the most expensive tapas I've seen: I think one pays for the presentation. The price wasn't expected for its location; more reminiscent of West Loop or Lincoln Park than Skokie. The rustic dining room is on the dark side, they could at least add some accent lighting. The cocktails were good, too.
Excellent cuisine! Very tasty.
We went for Sunday brunch and it was FABULOUS! Need to go back soon for dinner and sit on their patio in the back. Our waitress was sweet and prompt!!
They are amazing at libertad!
Great service And wonderful food
Great food. A bit loud but good service and great food. Hummus appetizer a must. Steak was best dish. Tuna just so so
The food was a wonderful surprise. We loved everything we ordered. The service was outstanding from helping us choose wine, to picking which dishes and how many, to spacing out order and timing of dishes to dessert. We loved it here and will be thrilled to go back!
Food was good. Happy with menu options for dinner and cocktails. Ecstatic that chef accommodated bread pudding request—- it was on the online menu but not ok restaurant menu
Loved it, as always, very unique dishes, great and friendly service, fun venue, casual-chic. What's not to like, this is an excellent place to go with good friends.
Great food, quite pricey. Everything we had was at least very god and most were excellent, but it costs over $260 out the door for four people. It's not THAT good! That said, the place is always crowded, so supply and demand justifies the price. If you don't care about money and like great, creative food, this is a great spot!
We’ve never had a bad thing on the menu here. Tonight the short rib special was outstanding. We will be back again soon.
