Libertad is a casual, chef-driven neighborhood restaurant featuring Latin American inspired cuisine.


Executive Chef Mark Mendez, whose experience includes Chicago’s most notable restaurants, pairs bold and exciting flavors for a seasonal menu of small plates ideal for sharing and experiencing the diverse mosaic of the countries that make up Latin America.


Noted mixologist Ziyad Asrar has put together a fun and creative cocktail menu while Sommelier Shebnem Ince compiled a succinct wine list that complements the menu with by the glass and bottle selections.

    Libertad was wonderful! Our server, Jenny was terrific. The other servers were also terrific, friendly and efficient! The food was outstanding! We brought birthday dessert and Jenny served it beautifully with candles! We will be back again very soon!

    The concierge and weight staff was professional cordial and pleasant. They cleared the table too quickly making us feel like they wanted to turn the table over. Just a thought for future clients.

    We enjoyed our experience and the food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us celebrate a milestone anniversary by offering us champagne. The drinks are a bit overpriced at $15 a cocktail, beer $10, and wine ranges from $14 to $ 16. For it not being a downtown Chicago restaurant, I thought they were a bit overpriced, but overall, we enjoyed our experience.

    We have been to libertad several times. The service is always great. The food was exceptional. Drinks were great as well. While the noise level from adjoining tables was high we were still able to converse. I only wish the management would look up once in a while. The ceiling needs a serious cleaning.

    We were there for a work function. The food has been consistently delicious and the portions are excellent for sharing or to have as an entree that won’t leave you feeling stuffed. The drink menu complements the food and the creative bar staff can make off menu drinks that fit most tastes. Excellent spot with a city vibe without the city prices.

    The menu is outstanding and the service was impeccable and friendly. This place is a hidden gem. If you are anywhere near Skokie, go check it out! Amazing food.
