LIBERATORE’S Ristorante & Catering - Eldersburg Ratings and Reviews
Previous experiences with Liberatore's have been really good. This is an exception...and it was very frustrating. We had a confirmed reservation through Open Table and when we arrived we were told they don't check the reservations so we didn't have a table...and it was packed. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated. It took 45 minutes to get water...never from our server but by continually tracking down anyone that would look our way. The same problem with getting our food...took a little more than 1 1/2 hours to finally be served...and one of our meals was prepared incorrectly....with the wrong pasta. When our check finally came...nothing had been done to compensate for the many mishaps of the night...until we suggested it. We were then generously compensated and the owner apologized profusely. This has never been my experience at Liberatore's and I am hopeful it will be better next time.
This restaurant has gone from a tiny hole in the wall luncheon place to a fabulous Italian gem. We have taken many friends here, foreign and domestic. To a person, they agreed about how fantastic it is. The food is always delicious and warm with a variety of options. Once a year, they kick back the prices to 1985. They even sponsor trips to Italy led by the owner of the restaurant, Dante. He's a great host. We always said we didn't need to travel all the way to Little Italy in Baltimore. This owner and his brothers learned from the best in Little Italy and now bring it to the suburbs. You can't go wrong here.
I have been to Liberatore's many times. This is the first time I left very disappointed in the food. All of us had the lobster tail with imperial crab, house salad and dessert special. The lobster tail was overdone and the imperial crab wasn't tasty at all. The best part of the meal was the house salad and the service was very good as always.
I won't order that special again, however, I will return to Liberatore's in the future since I normally have been very pleased with the food there.
Liberatore's has been a local "go to" staple for many years. I am grateful to be close to make last minute choices to dine in or carry out. The friendly casual atmosphere is always relaxing. The food is spot on and consistent. Whether it's girl's night out, a special occasion or family dining; it's everything you can count on. Thanks Dante!
Liberatore's is usually consistent in flavorful comfort food. Nice place to unwind, relax and enjoy some down time with friends and family. It's not hard to walk in and not find someone you know. Great neighborhood gem. Sometimes though, when it's too quiet, service can either be rushed or ignored. This time, it was both.
Food was outstanding and our waitress was wonderful. My only concern was the kitchen was extremely slow in getting our food out. I would have understood had they been crowded (since there was 6 of us) but there were only a few other tables. We were there for almost 2 hours and most of it was waiting for our food. Normally, I wouldnt care as much but I had my toddler with me and by the end he just couldnt sit anymore.
Good as always. Went on Mother's Day. Was slightly disappointed with the limited set menu but understood due to the holiday. I wanted the linguini matriciana with crabmeat which was not offered. Instead got the Veal Parm which was outstanding. Mother wanted a Chicken Giovanni dish also not on special menu, but ended up liking her Shrimp FraDiavolo. Salad dressing is outstanding, fresh bread superb. Waitress was good and a long timer there, but given the busy evening overall there were some gaps. I'll be back, but next time maybe not on a holiday, so I can order ANYTHING and have things be the usual attentiveness and less hectic in restaurant overall.
Our waiter was not personable at all. No mention of birthday girl which was mentioned in the table reservation. Prices were too high for not including a salad with a pasta dinner. Shrimp with fettuccine was supposed to be grilled but seemed boiled, overdone, and bland.
I loved the ambiance and decor of this restaurant. The lighting was soft, but not too dark.
Liberatore's is our favorite restaurant in the area, so of course we went there for our anniversary dinner. The service and the food were both outstanding. I had the special, a veal chop with a side of pasta, and my wife had the Frutti di Mare, which is her favorite dish. Both meals were cooked perfectly. We finished off the meal with a couple of fantastic desserts. Nancy's personal recommendation of the coconut cake really hit the spot.
Even though we only make it to Liberatore's a few times a year, we are always greeted warmly by Dante and his team, and it feels like we're just catching up with old friends.
Brought the entire family of NJ Italians to Liberatore's for Good Friday dinner. As always, the service was prompt, professional, and friendly. We appreciate that Liberatore's takes reservations, and were seated by the ever-entertaining Dante. Each of us ordered a different entrée, and no one was disappointed. From the shared appetizers (Calamari, Crab Dip), to the entrees (Capellini Bolognese, Rockfish, Mahi, Eggplant Parm, Lemon Risotto, Veal Saltimbocca, Shrimp Parm), to the desserts (Turtle Cake to die for), everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Keep up the great work, Dante, we'll keep coming back to this gem that's less than 10 minutes from home!
