LIBERATORE'S Ristorante & Catering - Bel Air Ratings and Reviews
We can always depend on Liberatore's for a great meal. I took advantage of the Harford Restaurant Week menu, and my husband ordered his favorite -- Veal Liberatore. The crab dip was rich and creamy, my filet was cooked as I like (so many restaurants overcook medium rare) over a bed of risotto, and the lemon sorbet was generously portioned, but light enough that I didn't feel uncomfortably full.
Being a Friday night, the restaurant was full and very noisy. The next time I'll request an upstairs table so we can have a conversation without raising our voices.
The restaurant was Great! Very friendly staff! We felt a bit rushed with our waiter, but we knew going in how much time we wanted to spend there so we controlled the ordering and how long we sat. I was looking forward to trying their tiramisu but they did not have any left. Will definitely be going back.
Exceptional as always! Our waiter left us alone - FANTASTIC! Nothing worse then a waiter who constantly interrupts with "is everything all right". If it wasn't we would let them know.
Only down size would be the booths. They are too narrow for the average person to slide in and be comfortable. We saw an elderly lady, who was disabled struggling to fit into the booth. (The new restaurant Bamboo Gardens has great booths. They are sofas that can be moved forward or backward - check it out)
Other than that you have a loyal customer here. : )
Very disappointed with the overall service. Took over an hour to receive the food. Also took close to 40 min to receive the drinks that were ordered upon being seated. Out drink Order was placed 4 times before we received them. The food was good, but the unacceptable waits and service overshadowed the food.
This was our second dining experience in recent years. We had hoped it would be better than the first, but it's just not so. I do not understand the Stellar ratings that this restaurant in Bel Air gets for its food when the food is just mediocre. I ordered lasagna. That should be easy enough for an Italian restaurant, right? But it tasted as if it were two days old, and the presentation was not at all appetizing. The following day, I lunched at the Olive Tree in Aberdeen and my friend ordered their lasagna. It was fresh and delicious and it even looked like lasagna, which I could not say or Liiberatore's. So that's it. After letting me down on a dinner for eight family members about 2 years ago, they finally got a second chance. It would be nice if they could serve fresh food as Scotto's used to do.
Service started fine but then was very slow. Drinks arrived but long wait for food. My chicken was barely warm. Had to wait for server for drink refills. Seated upstairs due to wine tasting downstairs so noisier than usual. Generally been pleased with food and service but not this time.
Very disapointed in the time it took to be seated. Told 15 Min and it took 35 and no one bothered to up date us. I had to ask when they expected to seat us. Was told they had several large parties and were trying to clear and re set. When I go again I will ask if they are haveing large parties and what the real wait time will be.
Food was excelent.
One exception was my salad dressing I asked for Vinegar and Oil and they brought some kind of creamy dressing that I could not identify, I ate it anyway, it was ok but not great.
As usual, Liberatore’s is the “go-to” spot in Bel Air.
This one time there was a slight hic-up due to the fact that while using the opentable app, it was not immediately clear that reservations cannot be made for “High-Top” tables (even though we’ve done them in the past). This issue needs to be clarified so there is no confusion as to “when” said tables can or can’t be reserved.
Fortunately, a table became available and this became a non-issue.
I must mention, Adam, which appeared to have taken charge during the slight misunderstanding, did a fabulous job explaining to us the miscommunication and assured the issue would be taken care of.
Otherwise, AS USUAL, the evening was completely phenomenal. Food, Drinks, service..... ALL TOP NOTCH!!
I was so impressed with Liberatore's. I have driven by here countless times but never visited. Do not judge a book by it's cover! I was shocked when we walked in... really pretty and a touch of italy. We were greeted warmly by someone i can only imagine is in an ownership position as well as the employees. We had 5 (yes 5) kids, including a baby with us, and we were treated with the same level of respect as anyone else. Our waiter was knowledgable and kind. The food was amazing and reminiscent of when we lived in Italy years ago. I will absolutely go back and recommend this place (that was apparently very well known to others but somehow not to me after almost 7 years of living in the area) to anyone who inquires. We did not sit at the bar, obviously, but it looked awesome for when i go back with my husband alone... tv's with the sports games on which is perfect for us, and plenty of pub tables. Looking forward to another visit and also looking forward to their amazing bread!
This is our second engagement dinner at Liberatore's in Bel Air and have been very pleased each time. We were welcomed by the management and felt very well taken care of. There were no complaints by anyone in our group with the service or the food. All of the dishes that I saw looked well made and presented. We tried one of the seasonal cocktails and really enjoyed the apple cinnamon martini. This is our favorite in Bel Air!
Very nice restaurant; it's a good all purpose destination for lunch or dinner; first date, rehearsal dinner, birthday, family in town, anniversary, graduation, retirement, etc. It's good for groups too. If you want the white tablecloth upscale restaurant experience without the price that typically involves, this place is for you. They have all the classic Italian dishes but turn out a very good steak too! The steak is aged beef and grilled not broiled. I had the 10oz filet MR and a Cabernet. It was superb. The best part of the menu is that the main entree section ranges in price from $8.95 to $41.95 but the there are great dishes at all levels. The bread alone is worth whatever you pay for an entree and their sides are generous and included. My steak came with grilled veg and potatoes but I got pasta instead of potatoes. The by the glass winelist is broad enough to find a perfect pairing for your meal too! The downsides? First, their coffee is not top tier. Second, the noise level was nearly unbearable which is why the 2/5 star for ambience. We went on a Saturday night and they had live music in the bar. It wasn't good music either which is worse when it's loud. Third, some might feel a dress code is a downside, I really don't. While they'res no formal dress code, that I know of we followed the recommendations posted here and did well. Ok, it's not a place for the grungy look and wearing that look you'd feel very out of place. You would. So don't go that route! On one end you have slacks, shirt, jacket and tie and on the other end you have khakis and a button down long sleeve shirt with a collar (i.e. Think 1985-1992). My date and I dressed somewhere in between those two ends: dress-casual. Nowadays I almost never dress up so I fell back on 85-92; khakis & collar shirt and thought "eh why not?" and put a tie on. My date said she liked seeing me dressed smartly and I gotta admit it was nice not going out in a t-shirt or polo and jeans for a change.
Our all time favorite AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant. Delicious bread....the best. The orecchiette alla formaggio has become an addiction for me. My husband loves the salmon Nicola. Food comes out hot and fresh.
Extremely, well run and organized establishment. Staff is excellent!!!!!
Normally I've had great experiences at Liberatore's. But this was bad. I had said it was a birthday when I made the reservation - in fact it was 2 people in the group. Our waiter said somewhat sarcastically "oh how nice." And he made no attempt to acknowledge the birthdays. Two people in the group were done earlier and so he boxed everything and rushed the people still eating. Our waiter acted like he didn't want to be there and didn't hide it from us. We sat in the bar and it was empty. We usually have this awesome waitress but she wasn't there. This was such a different and terrible experience. And with two birthdays.
Liberatore's delivers quality service and innovative food. I especially liked the fra diavilo sauce as it was lighter and not really heavy. Wait staff works as teams and makes dining a pleasure. Of course white tablecloths cannot be beat!!!!! Where else in our county can you find a white tablecloth restaurant???? Not many. Thank you Liberatore's!!
I gave Liberatore's a five in overall. There is one thing that was annoying. Our party of 5 was seated at a folding table which constantly moved when leaned on. We had to push it back where it belonged while we were seated. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable evening. I did have a reservation.
