Brought a group of 10 and everyone thought it was a home run!
Libby’s is my go-to neighborhood place. I had a guest visiting and we went for lunch. I ordered the tomato caprese salad. It was overdressed and the greens were quite wilted. Bread isn’t served unless you ask for it. They ran out of salt and pepper shakers. The restaurant is getting rundown; the rugs are dirty and it just doesn’t seem as crisp as it once was. On a positive note, our server was attentive and friendly. All in all, though, I’m finding LIbby’s to be just average and it used to be very good.
We ate outdoors and so had a quiet table. Our server, Regina, was very helpful and pleasant. I alppewxiare their plant friendly menu
We have eaten there several times and always enjoyed it. This time, they simply didn't have their act together. A vodka gimlet was made with straight lime juice instead of Roses lime juice. There was no bread until just before dessert and it was cold. The crab cakes tasted like pepper. Overall, very disappointing.
All three ladies in my party enjoyed the food very much.
Abrupt but efficient service. Blueberry pancakes were great, but waffle was hard as a rock. Fried chicken with spiced honey was yummy. For brunch, nice Bloody Mary bar and fancy mimosas.
The food, service, decor were all delightful. The
Cedar wrapped salmon was excellent, as was the filet.
The dining indoors was painfully loud with chatter,

Delicious food! Great place for a ladies lunch.
We have eaten at Libby’s several times over the course of the years. Tonight’s experience exceeded all previous ones. The food was really near perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A slight mishap on my wife’s Manhattan, that was quickly corrected .
We really enjoyed Libby’s and look forward to a return visit.
Lovely place. Food was very tasty. Price excellent. Relaxed, plenty of time to eat, talk and get to the theater. Waiter could have been a little more attentive
Table requested was not available. Sat us in main dining room which was very noisy. They were kind enough to move us to a window table when I asked after seeing one being cleaned. Food was very good. Waitress was the best! Very attentive.
Everything was great except the noise level. I couldn't hold a great conversation with my date.
Everything was delicious! The staff was very accommodating and polite. We will definitely go back again! The mussels were to die for... compliments to the chef!
Some of the best food we've had in Sarasota. Excellent service. Nice to eat outside too.
I recently re-connected with a former girl friend, and i wished to make Valentine's Day evening special. I chose the Rose Package to supplement dinner. Best move ever.
The lady arrived first, and was so impressed that wine and roses were at the table waiting for her.
Service by John, and his recommendations for dinner were spot on delicious.
Excellent evening, and thanks to Libby's staff and menu selections provided.
Very nice Valentine dinner. Gracious server prompt service. Wide range of options low price to more expensive. Out door seating very nice on a warm night. Restroom(womam) needed some service... floor sticky
Libby's use to be our " local" go to place. Disappointed food has gone down hill the last year.
Had their Grouper Sandwich this week ..Grouper was old, tuff and you chewy, Being a local there is no reason to serve old fish...sorry.. Still love the place but finding it now to be hit or miss place.
We love to go to Libby’s and like it even more when we introduce friends to it for the first time and they absolutely LOVE IT!!
The food was delicious... we were there at 7:30 on a Sunday evening so the restaurant was definitely slowing down, that being said I felt the server was a little scattered, she didn’t open our wine (to allow it to chill until dinner arrived) however then did not return until we flagged someone down and we were 1/2 way thru our meal and the same with one of our desserts never arrived she did remove it from the bill.
So that’s the reason for the 3 star service
Our waitress Jessica was outstanding. The kitchen made a mistake that she caught even before we knew it happened. Great work
Fun and friendly, a bowl of water for our dogs was delivered to outdoor table without even asking. The Buffalo Cauliflower was outstanding. We both had grilled grouper and it was served quickly and was delicious. Libby’s is a fun place to people watch and is one of our favorite places to visit when we’re in the city.
Our waitress simply forgot to pass our order to the kitchen. After 40 minutes wait when we inquired she told us that 'they were very busy". After an additional wait we contacted the manager and found out. We left without eating. (By the way it was lunch time and the restaurant was half empty). So the above ratings do nor apply
We go to Libby's 2-3 times/year. They always provide very good food, and friendly and efficient service. It can be noisy as the bar scene is vibrant, and this last time the hostess tried to put us in a booth back by the kitchen when there were many better alternatives.
We have only eaten small plates outside at the sidewalk cafe, and it is extremely;pleasant. On a warm evening, t is our place to go for very tasty food and nice service.
If this had been our first dining experience at Libby’s, we wouldn’t go back. Unfortunate because the location and atmosphere are great and I wanted it to be good! I had to get up to ask for our waiter (we waited over 10 minutes with no sign of anyone waiting our table) and the meal was average. We were three friends dining out. My meal (surf and turf over grilled romaine) the beef was not medium rare as ordered and was a cheap, tough and tasteless. Shrimp was okay. At $26 - above average cost, I would have expected better. So, overall disappointed and with so many options out there, it may be a while before I go back. Let’s just hope it was an ‘off night’ and not the norm.
We arrived late for our reservation because of traffic but were seated right away as there were several tables available. The food was excellent. We will return again to try dinner sometime.
Family in visiting
I dined at Libby’s Cafe while on a short winter getaway to Sarasota. We were looking for casual dining with great seafood and lots of healthy choices plus a great wine list. We were not disappointed. We ordered a spasta dish made from spaghetti squash and a vegetable marinara and a grilled vegetable salad. We added shrimp to one and scallops to the other dish. Both dishes were very tasty. We felt so jubilant for eating clean that we finished the meal with the key lime pie!
Our server was delightful and was very informative. Libby’s also trained their bus staff who stopped at our table several times to ask us how the meal was and to inquire whether they could get us anything. It was a very nice touch. We will definitely return.
Always enjoy this restaurant.Great menu and ambiance. On a warm evening you can sit outside or by the open doors.
Had the Early Bird Specials, very good crusted grouper. Wine and food very tasty, early bird portion just right for us.
Service was good ! I really enjoyed the fish special! My cocktail was very good!!
