Libby's Cafe & Bar Ratings and Reviews
The service was very slow. We sat at 5:45 and had to be someplace right around the corner at 7:30. We thought we had plenty of time but barely made it. There were a lot of new people training and that perhaps slowed things down. We did not get our meal order taken until we had already been there 40 minutes. It took awhile to get our first drinks. The food when it came was good and I liked the atmosphere. I might be willing to try it again and see if the service concern is a constant or a fluke.
Wine Wednesday has excellent values on a first-class wine list!
Food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed by two large parties, even though the dining room itself was not crowded. Drinks came slowly and one drink order got mixed up.
Libby's is a great restaurant, and this trip there wasn't really up to speed. Because they were changing menus, there were many changes to the written menu, which was hard to figure out. Would have liked at least one pasta dish; more fish (not seafood) and vegetarian options. And a non-chocolate dessert. Also missed the sunset menu, it was easier to navigate than the 25% off asterisks.
On the plus side, the servers were great, the tomato bisque terrific, and we had a nice meal nonetheless. It just wasn't the experience I'm used to there.
Libby's is always good. It's a great location, particularly for an after dinner walk or around the corner and down Hillview for music and a drink. Food is also consistently good, and on this evening they had my favorite meatloaf entree as a special. My three companions also bragged about their food. Our server was very attentive, seemed always to be there when we needed him, but not bothersome when we didn't. Minor glitch with our big cookie desert, which Libby's comped. Thank you very much. And it was delicious. We'll go back and recommend Libby's to our friends.
I’m a regular at Libbys and it’s other restaurants. I ordered the tuna which was too dry. Tasted as though it had been sliced and left uncovered. I ate it because I was very hungry. My friend had eggs Benedict which were good but the string potatoes were not.
I shall continue to go there but will not order the Ahi Tuna again. It was expensive to boot.
Unfortunately, our meal was subpar. My mother and I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it came out cold and the hashbrowns were as dry as straw and entirely too brown. The re-fire of our meal the temperature was much better, however, zero improvement with the hashbrowns. Not a great meal. The service though was excellent.
I enjoy Libby's for all occasions, and recently I appreciated the generosity of the staff as they allowed us girlfriends to enjoy wine and chat for almost 45 minutes before ordering, no push and just a very laid back and friendly staff. Attentive and not pushy!
Great food, very good service, diverse menu, attractive setting - what could be better? Being able to hear each other, table of 4 at rightsized square table. Being able to have a lovely relaxing lunch, worthy of the food served and company at the table. Once again, the noise level at a Friday lunch was unbearable. Even as I was trying to talk to hostess re table, cane, pain, the manager, I think, had to step up and explain that she couldn't hear me because of the noise.
All in all, it's a nice restaurant. The food is good and so is the service. What turns me away usually is the noise level. It was a light crowd, plenty of quieter booths to have seated us. Yet, the hostess put us right next to a noisy table. I should have refused. So, you can't visit much there. Just enjoy the food and go elsewhere to visit.
We went for Sunday Brunch and it was delicious! The bottomless bloody mary and mimosa bar had lots of options, not just for add-in's but in terms of vodka and juices too. The brunch menu was tasty, and you could also order from the full lunch/dinner options. It was a great time with adequate service and a fun atmosphere.
