Li Veli Winery & Bistro
We offer wine classes on request from our in house Li Veli wine maker.
The is a private dining room available on request.
A rather disappointing experience. I pre-booked a table for 2 near a window, but was sat at a table right in the middle of the restaurant with no explanations or excuses given.
Menu was rather limited, the waiter didn’t know what the specials were and chose to shout across the restaurant to his colleagues behind the bar to find out.
Still they gave wrong information and when the “specials” arrived and wasn’t what they had said it was, they kindly took it away and came back in 2 minutes with a small bowl of uncooked pasta sprinkled with basilic, and for the same price!
Can't wait to go back. Delicious food, charming professional staff
First visit - proved to be an excellent choice for our pre-Theatre meal. Will definitely aim to eat there again when next in Covent Garden.
Very underwhelming - lunch with my 80 year old mother, who is frail and we turned up to find we were sitting in the overflow basement and had to negotiate steep stairs.
Service was sporadic at best, felt forgotten most of the time. Food was average given the prices - my mother’s pasta ragu was £12 and not much to write home about. Definitely a disappointing surprise given the good reviews we’d read.
Extreamely poor service. Waited for over an hour just to pay our bill.
Enjoyed it. Food was very good. First waitress made some good recommendations on food and wine. When we didn’t want dessert the other waitress quickly whipped out the bill and planted it on the table. Fair enough but unusual and slightly rude, given we still had half a bottle of the overpriced (delicious) wine still on the table and were enjoying a good conversation.
Great restaurant with interesting and unique wine and food pairings. Hard to find a good Italian restaurant that breaks away from the standard fare well, but this one has done it!
Great menu. Fantastic wine. The BEST service.
No atmosphere or ambience. Quite pricey. The set menu did not appeal. Food from a la carte was godwas good but that's about it.
Service was slightly aggressive. Nice atmosphere but I would not come back in the evening.
Liveli was my favorite bistro in London as the food was delicious and atmosphere was cosy. Unfortunately, the last experience was not great. Food was average and service was below standards (arrogant attitude, clumsy service). I hope they will improve, as the place has great potential and it is a true gem in the heart of london.
We had a very nice time at Li Veli. The interior is lovely, the food was decent, and the service was ok. Not exceptional, but ok. I'd recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Very authentic and tasty food from Puglia. Portions were a bit small, but overall a good Italian restaurant with reasonable price.
Great welcome and good food and wine. We visit here occasionally and it is always good.
Soulless atmosphere and arrogant Wine waiter
Good wine list,jyviytfiyrcjgcjgfcjhtcjhfcjhfjhfcjbfckhgfkhgfvk
Food not as good as our last visit.
Very noisy table of 6 near us so unable to talk in a relaxed manner. Finished our meal early on without coffee or desert.
Great service, food was ok. Loved the pistachio ice cream!
Outstanding food and excellent service, lovely decor and restaurant
These were the perfect starter for me, lovely flavours and good quality ingredients
I do love this place, the food is great, but I’ve been a few times and the service really is awful. Getting someone’s attention seems almost impossible whether for drinks, food or the bill.
Li Veli is such a gem in Covent Garden - food is delicious and it's like a little visit to Puglia
Welcoming and lovely staff team. Traditional/authentic Puglian dishes - try the pistachio ice cream with olive oil, it’s absolutely delicious! A good range of wine from the region too. Very ambient, both in the restaurant and at the bar. Great to watch the passers by going to and from Covent Garden.
The food was exlcelent service too until 1 waitress while we were having sigarette outside tooked away from the table the bottle wine and wine glass and bit mess with bill
Their wine was fantastic and has affordable prices. Olive oil was fresh and flavorful. But the servers were not attentive.
As usual, eating dinner here was a lovely experience. Friendly, personal service, delicious Apulian food and wine, not too noisy for lots of conversation, and a bright, comfortable setting with crisp white linen napkins.
Great restauarant. Lovely wine, as you'd expect. Good food choices. It has a cool relaxed atmosphere, good for quiet chats or business. Not quite romantic feeling enough for dates. £160 for three people incl wine.
Lovely wine list Lovely food. Friendly service really easy going atmosphere
Great find just round the corner from Covent Garden eaten there three times on separate trips to London and always had a great meal and service
Delightful Italian restaurant just off the main Covent Gdn area. We had to rush a bit due to theatre visit but will definitely go back for the full experience. A little pricey but worth it
We like this place - but objected to the manager's attitude on our last visit when a dish specifying "mashed potato" with it came with about a dessert spoonful of it. We'd had it before with a sensible portion. But when we pointed it out to the manager he refused to do anything - for tuppence worth of mash!
The waiters were as embarrassed as we were and we won't let it stop us going back but we will be considerably more vociferous if that happens again.
Such a shame in a place we think a bit special.
We were really impressed, lovely food, will return.
The food was good, although portions were very small.
Unfortunately our waiter was not attentive at all and therefore it took long to order anything.
Me and my boyfriend went for dinner Saturday evening before we went to the theatre. We shared the meats for starters which was amazing then we both had lamb- which was so disappointing. We then was ignored for about half an hour. We got our waiters attention, we did mention how bad the lamb was, our he laughed and walked away. We then complained again when we was paying and the waiter said sorry but didn’t even mention to the chef that we was not happy that we had to pay for a full plate lamb. £25 for a plate of over cooked, tough lamb with two tiny bits of mash is disgusting. We will not be coming again.
Lovely people great attentive staff. Food good. Wine excellent
Poca variedad y algunos platos insípidos
Fabulous food and delicious wine, great ambience and excellent value. Our second visit - and we will be back!
Atmosfera elegante e raffinata. Cibo tradizionale esaltato dalla presentazione ricercata. Vini e prodotti tipici della terra pugliese davvero ottimi!
Lovely bistro with lively ambience a stones throw from Covent Garden
