LG's Prime Steakhouse - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
I'd like to report a robbery! This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had in my 20 years in the desert! I'm insulted that they had the nerve to even present us with a bill! We sat down and ordered a bottle of wine and drinks! We were told by the waiter when we placed the order that the kitchen was running a bit slow but honestly when the waiter finally showed up to make us the Ceasar salad at the table for five people. He only had enough lettuce for two people, from there it went from bad to worse and we felt our waiter knew it and avoided us! I use the term waiter loosely as Patrick told use he worked at a number of other upscale steakhouses, I can understand why he jumped around a lot! The fact was we didn't see him until after the food finally arrived served by other staff close to an hour later, all delivered to the wrong recipients like the bad reshuffling of cards! Now wouldn't you think if things were going wrong and you knew it, as a waiter you would do everything in your power to try and make your dining experience as good as you could? Not this guy, he avoided us and when we made some suggestions how he could of helped, he got defensive and basically told us we should have gone to a different restaurant! Between the undercook steaks, raw baked potatoes, cold onion rings and over cooked oysters Rockefeller, I can't believe this place has the nerve to charge the prices they do! They have my info through open table so let's see what kind of follow thru they come up with! They begged us to come back and give them another chance, I'm just not sure I'm ready to spend that much on their second chance! "LG's Prime Steakhouse it's the art of the scam!"
LG’s Steakhouse was the absolute best steakhouse I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. My boyfriend also agreed and said it was he best he has had. First things first is that their HOME made Caesar salad is to die for and is made from scratch in front of you at your table by your waiter. On the menu it says Worlds Famous and makes very much sense why it is world famous. The salad is for two people and highly recommended. Entrees I got the Colorado Rack of Lamb again very good and my boyfriend ask Jimmy ( our waiter) for the end piece of the prime rib and they were able to accommodate that for him 1. It was huge and 2. AMAZING make sure you ask for the end piece. Jimmy said it’s not always likely but in our case we got lucky. Our side that we shared was the Mac n Cheese which at this point in the review you know I’m going to say amazing again. Bottom line was ever single thing we had was SO good and would go back again tonight just alone for the salad. Jimmy was very good a little slow but no big complaints on that since we were in a rush.
We were seated in front of the bar which was a little load at times but our booth was very comfortable. The service staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs without us having to request anything. We enjoyed our perfectly prepared meals and side dishes both were delicious. Our total experience for the evening was excellent and we look forward to coming back in the future. I will definitely recommend that my friends give you a try.
Both medium rare steaks were cooked wrong. One was raw and the other was overdone. Both were tough to cut through and lacked flavor. The table side Caesar salad was loaded with Dijon mustard and too much garlic. It wasn’t good. The server was kind, but lacked knowledge about menu. He told me I would receive six crabs legs with a 1/2 lb. order, instead I received 2 1/2. I have eaten at LG’s serval times over the years, it seems to decline each time, I wouldn’t go back.
When we arrived for our reservation we still ended up waiting an extra 15 mins while they looked for a place for us to sit. Isn’t that what reservations are for? On top of that they ended up sitting us outside. They were having problems with their heating lamps. The managment team did try to help, I appreciated that. The waiter was nice and gave good service. Food was ok not worth what we paid for.
It is really hard to evaluate based on the unique experience of a late Valentine's Day meal. Because it was so busy, we waited almost an hour for the main course and I was really disappointed that my Filet was a bit tough. I really though it would compare to Ruth's Chris and other top level steakhouses. The waiter was very professional and our table was ideal, but for $61 dollars, I was really disappointed.
At the price for value, I won't return. I do want to emphasize that the staff was very good and the initial Cesar Salad and the side dish of cauliflower were excellent.
Part of the fault is mine for not complaining about the filet; but it was so late and I didn't want to spoil the Valentine's mood.
Went there for Valentine's day. Was very disappointed by the lack of atmosphere I had expected. Was hoping for a beautiful setting but did not meet that expectation. Waiter was nice but nothing special. Had the filet mignon, it was good but not great. Overall I was quite disappointed.
Unfortunately we did not experience the exceptional food we appreciated last year this time. We had excellent melt in your mouth steaks last year and could not wait to return. We raved about this place and brought along 2 other couples who are widely versed and appreciative of a great steak. We ended up being embarrassed at the quality of the steaks. One couple sent them back and one never finished eating them. It was very unfortunate and embarrassing for us. Everyone was on with the expenses when expecting the best however that was not the case. We had a very expensive mediocre at best meal. Prior to this visit we ranked LG as one of our top 2 steak houses and we’ve been to some of the very best. I am sorry to say will likely not return. We did experience exceptional service by our waiter and hostess! They were great!!
On the Reservation I put down we were celebrating a birthday. That was disregarded. I wasn’t going to say anything in front of the birthday boy, so I just ordered dessert to acknowledge the birthday dinner on my own. The Caesar salad they are known for was nothing to brag about. I’ve had way better Caesar salads at less pricer establishments. For the price I wouldn’t say the food wasn’t worth it. I’ve had better steak. The mashed potatoes were bland. We also ordered Brussel sprouts which were ok. I wouldn’t pay the price again.
Very good food. Little on expensive side. Although you are warned the plate the food is served on is hot. ....WOW...it. Stayed soooo hot that each bite we took of the steak we had to be careful not to burn our mouth. Nice way to keep food warm, but a little too hot for safety.
Our experience was outstanding. Patrick, our waiter, was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and very friendly. This was a nice couple's date spot, but we also had seen quite a few families. If you're up for outdoor seating, when you make your reservation, request the fire pit seating. Great spot!
The service was very good. I had Lobster which was a little over done. My friends had steak and a pork chop. Both according to them were very good and prepared perfect. Wine list very good! Prices reasonable for the meal and wine. I’d certainly go again and recommend!
We went for my wife’s birthday. All was well except for the fact that the ribeye was way over cooked. And they didn’t really ask how the steaks were. We didn’t want to complain and send it back, and hen wait to get it back after everyone else was essentially finished. However, if our server had asked, we would have told him. Otherwise it was lovely.
The quality of the food was outstanding. For any special occasion where excellent steak and seafood are on the order, you can't go wrong with this establishment. $$$ but worth the $. Loved the freshly baked sour dough bread and decadent chocolate cake . Great service too.
