LG's Prime Steakhouse - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
Went out for our friends 24th birthday! Had the oysters and shrimp cocktail to start! Their in house cocktail sauce is wonderfully balanced! We ordered stake, lobster, crab, & sides ( Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes & au gratin potatoes! ) all of which was all properly cooked & served!
They brought out a special card for our friends birthday & a special chocolate cake ! Nothing was disappointing! Service was exceptional ! Defiantly a birthday our friend will never forget!
My steak (ordered medium rare) was WAY over cooked (medium well) and inedible. I took one bite to see if it would be palatable since it was a prime cut of meat, but it was awful. By the time anyone came to see how things were, my son was more than half done with his dinner. They offered to replace the steak with one properly cooked after seeing mine (cut through the middle and NO red and only slightly pink), but I had already passed the point of wanting to wait and even eat it. Even though I did not have them replace it, and didn't eat any aside from the single bite, I was still charged the $42. They comped our drinks ($23), but still charged for a steak that was not edible.
I definitely will not be back. I'll keep dining at Sullivan's, Ruth's Chris or Spencer's where the meal is worth the money.
LG Prime was a nice place. Palm Springs is pretty quiet in July and the restaurant was almost empty. Service was brisk and efficient, drinks and food came very quickly. Large shrimp cocktail and a beet salad started the meal. The dressing on the beet salad was a big heavy in volume but tasty. A 16 oz boneless rib eye was well prepared and very tasty, as was a baked sea bass. A vegetable platter was al dente and simply prepared. Wine by the glass was moderately priced and a decent poor.
We ordered the Rib Eye with asparagus and the Summer menu special that includes a choice of pre fix. My lady friend ordered a filet mignon and vegetables and clam chowder.
We have to say, the clam chowder was better than what we had in Fishermans Wharf . The steaks are about the same as Outback which we like, (but more expensive ) but the vegetables were pretty plain almost flavorless. The people that work there are friendly . We sat outside . It was humid from the air coolers as well as hot from the desert heat. I was ok with the heat, my lady friend didn't like sitting outside after a while. Overall the steaks were great but the vegetables plain
We had a fantastic dinner our server Connie was perfection, she went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed and wanted. Including serving an after dinner B & B in the correct manner it should be served, which I have not had the privilege to enjoy in many, many years. I would visit LG's Steakhouse again anytime I am in the Palm Springs Area. Well worth paying a little more for such fantastic food and service.
Prior to our visit on 8 June 2017, our experience at LG's Palm Springs had been exceptional. Part of the overall experience had been the attentive waiters whose service, knowledge and elegant table-side manners had always been top- notch. Our waiter this time seemed to be confused about menu items and did not have the professional attributes of the past wait staff at LGs. This visit was disappointing not only due to the change in wait staff but in the food as well. I ordered prime rib, medium well done, and it was served at a barely like warm temperature. I sent it back to be reheated. For the same price range of dinners, we will choose another restaurant next time we visit.
My family of 10 was celebrating an anniversary. I made the reservations, my husband ordered $100 bottle of wine. My husband and I ordered the Caesar salad mainly for the reason to watch the waiter make it in front of us. The waiter chose to assemble it all the way on the other side of other side of the table for 10 people. I thought maybe my mom and my sister also ordered the salad and that the waiter would come back to make the salad in front of my husband and me. Nope! I also asked for a light dressing. Nope! The salad was drowning in the dressing. Instead of begging the second pouring of the wine in front of my husband who ordered it, the waiter started on the other side of the table and ran out before getting to us. Only 5 people were having wine. Any good waiter wouldn't have made the same mistake. I have to say the stakes were good, but my fish was way too sweet. At the end the waiter brought an anniversary cake to the other side of the table, but the bill of almost $1,000 to my husband. Really wish I picked a better place!
Connie our server did a really good job and took really good care of us. Forrest the manager went out of his way to make up the overly fatty and not tender Prime Rib. My filet was ok, but not what you would expect from LG's.
To be fair, it was Memorial weekend and the were slammed. I have eaten there a few times before, and it was very good.
The service and manager Forrest are the 2 biggest reasons to give them a second chance......
we rewarded our son with this experience because he graduated from middle school we awarded our daughter with the same opportunity when she graduated middle school but she chose ruths chris. Our food came out and the waiter spilled food on my lap. this was not his fault as the previous waiter had the plates overlapping when he presented the food. My son and i had both ordered the jewel of the crown because of internet searches we read your steak was "to die for". our meat was ordered the same. medium rare. mine came out blood rare and my son had a mix between rare and something we couldn't identify. We dont have an opportunity to spend this type of money often we are not wealthy people but we were hoping for better to reward our son. He chose your restaurant over a bicycle because of the promise of an unforgetable meal. you have a beautiful place to dine but after spending $400 on what i can surmise as a cost that could have been applied to more of a reward for my son i'm sorry to say i was disappointed. PS we tipped our waiter $75 because we knew he had no control over this situation. We hope this feedback finds you well and happy.
The Lambooy Family
Have been coming to this restaurant for years. Always good and a fun treat. However this time it was awful. All the meat came over done. Two filets were replaced but took a half hour to arrive. By then the sides were cold and everyone had lost their appetites. The prime rib was over done as well and there was no offer to replace. They comped the filets and offered free desert . At the price they charge it didn't seem like enough as the only part of the dinner we enjoyed was the salad. Such a disappointing experience. We will never go back. Especially when there are so many other steak houses to choose from!
Special occasion while visiting PS for a conference. Asked for the table side prepared Caesar salad for two, although we normally share one salad. The portions were HUGE. We could only eat a small amount. A bit too much cheese. Everything else was great, New York Strip, potato, hot bread, large martini with blue cheese olives, and service.
I ordered a ribeye steak, it was cooked good. But had no flavor whatsoever, I had to asked the waiter for steak sauce. In a restaurant of this caliber I have never ordered steak sauce with my steak. For dessert, I ordered carrot cake, The icing on the carrot cake was terrible. Other than that everything else was ok, I don't believe I would go back to LG.
This is a restaurant in which I have frequented with both my family as well as more intimate dinners with my wife. The service is absolutely impeccable ! The ambient atmosphere along with the Palm Springs backdrop is great experience! We have had many servers and assistants whom all offer attention to detail! The food and selections are great and very satisfying !
first visit to PS and the best dining experience overall. we dined on the patio and had excellence service from our waiters and busboy. our meal was reasonably priced for 7 people, most of who were drinking alcohol.
Ribeye was fantastic, creamed spinach delicious, Garlic Mash was a smash
