LG's Prime Steakhouse - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
Well the overall rating was low. The Server Patrick made up for a lot of shortcomings. In General. He was a Great Employee Of LGs. And that’s No Bull Prime was Fatty. And other cut was Rubbery. One order was Perfect. Set next to a Group of 20 engineers want a bees Loud. Sorry. Been 10 years since I was there That night was the reason I came back. Now ????.
We had an enjoyable dinner celebrating a birthday. Taylor was our waiter and was very accommodating with one of us needing restricted salt options. He made the Caesar salad to each of our tastes and restrictions. A great evening. And the steaks were unbelievably good..didn't really need a steak knife.
LG Steak house has always been my go to steak house. There are many steak houses to choose from, while many of them are good, I love the service and the fact that they are local. I have never had a bad steak at this location. Service is always the best. Highly Recommend LG's!
Fantastic restaurant in a great spot in Palm Springs. Food and service were excellent. Probably the best ceasar salad that I have ever had. Better than Lawry's in Chicago. We dined outside. Nice atmosphere. The only downside was the country music coming from bar across street. Not LGs fault but maybe they could turn up their own music. Not a big deal in an otherwise perfect dining experience.
It was similar to eating in a brightly lit diner. Surrounded by people with kids. This was a special 65th romantic birthday dinner. Food wasn’t good. Slow an appetizer that wasn’t worth it (thank goodness they didn’t charge for that). steak undercooked, spinach no taste. Will never
Love the food. Absolutely incredible steak - I’ve been coming here for ten years and LG’s always impresses me. However, the servers are few and far between and therefore are unable to offer a fine dining experience for a fine dining price. Asked twice for sauce, it never came. Daughter-in-law’s drink was forgotten and asked for twice. That is completely unacceptable when dropping $100 per plate. It wasn’t our server’s fault, he was run ragged. Management needs to ensure that there are enough servers, not just a large number of clean up staff. Altogether delightful, but can’t justify the price without 100% attention.
I had almost given up on LG's, the last 2 times I was there it wasn't the best. I have been going to LG's for years so decided to give it one more try. My dad, sister and I had our Christmas
Eve dinner at the Palm Springs location. I had the petite filet and it was perfection. My sister had the pork chop and my dad had the lamb. Everything was good. Our server Patrick was very attentive and we had a lovely pre-Christmas meal. So glad that I can recommend LG's confidently again.
Menu offers fish, chicken, beef. Side dishes are large enough to share. Caesar salad for 2 prepared tableside. Large portion of prime rib and cooked to perfection as was my husband’s filet mignon. His comment, the steak didn’t need any sauces some steak restaurants offer such as Bernaise, etc.
We have dined at LG’s several times for special occasions.
I must give a shout out to Mimma (?) who really took care of us. My husband wasn't feeling well we just wanted to eat and get out. The waiter was slammed and we couldn't get a drink order in we sat for a good 15-20 min after he said I'll be right with you. We finally complained to him, he apologized ran and got our drink then was so apologetic all evening. Went we got the check Mimma had comped our drinks and appetizers. Thats how you treat customers, especially locals in a tourist town. That is why we will go back again and again!
I had salmon (at a steakhouse). It was only okay. My wife had a rib eye steak and loved it!! We shared a wedge salad with enough left over to take with her leftover steak. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good. Pretty pricey for everyday, but great for a special occasion or a great steak.
We were seated at the fire pit, and it was great. There weren’t very many people there, probably because it was just the beginning of dinner service around 5:30. Food was really good, a bit pricey, but worth it. Sides are family style and feed 2-3 people...we got the green beans and potatoes at gratin (potatoes were fantastic), and we ordered a prime rib, filet mignon, and New York strip. The prime rib was served with ajuis and a light horseradish and was amazing. The filet mignon was second and the New York was third. The service was fantastic! Overall, it was a great experience and the food was really good.
Overall, it was not a good experience for LG's. Although it was Thanksgiving, they did not have their best night with service and food quality. The server was too busy with large tables that had lots of kids, and did not have time to provide the service LG's is known for. The server had the table-side caesar salad made by his bus boy, and the famous LG's caesar salad was terrible. The service was slow and I will not return on a holiday occasion to LG's.
Just well past it's prime -- no pun intended. Given all the competition in the Valley, I'm not sure why LG's would be on anyone's list anymore. Years ago, I loved LG's. Now the drinks are poor (is there a reason your martinis aren't cold?), the food is just not great given the price, service is perfunctory, and the overall experience is a big "why bother."
