LG's Prime Steakhouse - La Quinta Ratings and Reviews
As usual, everything about our dining experience at LG's La Quinta was outstanding. Caesar salad for two, made table side, was great. Wife had the petite filet; she orders medium well, so I won't comment on her steak. I had my favorite: 24 oz Porterhouse. Best steak in the house, maybe the best I've had anywhere. Perfectly done medium rare. Nice selection of sides, and a very approachable wine list. All in all, it's worth the drive from anywhere in the Coachella Valley.
Sadly the restaurant was so short staffed we waited over 30 minutes to get served after ordering dinner, then another twenty to get served a dessert, and more than 10 to finally get a bill to get out of the place. We had a Professional waiter who couldn’t get his help or the kitchen to pull through. Would not return and would not rave about any of the food except for a tasty (pricey) filet. average food, sub-par service, high price, nice atmosphere.
Absolutely perfect from being greeted at the door......table seating on time......best waiter ever (Tom), perfectly done steak.......HOT plates for hot food......tasty desert
oh, and the best part.....old fashioned Caesar Salad dressing made fresh at your table.
A wonderful evening for Valentines Day!
LGS Steakhouse is by far, the most well-oiled machine among the hundreds of restaurants in our valley. On a very busy Valentines Day evening, there were NO parties waiting in the lobby to be seated for the 3 hours that we dined. Reservations are taken seriously and there’s never a back-up or delay. Filet mignon is always our choice of steak and it just melts in your mouth. A butter knife will slice right through it....(no back and forth sawing as we’ve had in another prime steakhouse in Palm Desert! And I won’t mention the over 45 minute wait we had there for our reservations made a month earlier. )
For prime meat, don’t miss a dinner at LGS.
Our waiter Daniel was great. 8 oz Filets Rare we’re cooked perfect & tender. Great wine list with choice for any budget.
On the bad side the table side Caesar was OK but served on too small of plates. Inside dining was super noisy - but it was Saturday night. Not for Special occasion or Romance!
Usually our favorite Steakhouse over Morton's, Flemings, Kaiser Grill or even Sullivan's. Disappointed this time. I ALWAYS order Blackened Prime Rib. Got regular Prime Rib. Not enough time to return it. Table Cleaner cleaned our table before we could stop him in time to save some of the dishes to take home. For a $700 dinner I was disappointed. I will go again because when the food is right it cannot be beat.
What a wonderful experience. Since my wife and I are relatively new to the area, we were looking for a good steakhouse for my birthday. We considered a few other alternatives but decided on LG's for this special occasion. There is valet parking even though we didn't need to use due to ample parking. We were warmly greeted and seated in a large booth that allowed us sit next to one another. The wait staff came to the table immediately to deliver some excellent sourdough bread and soft easy to spread butter. Our waiter Freddie came to introduce himself and to let us know that he would let us peruse the menu and to let him know when we were ready to order or if we had any questions. We ordered the table side Caesar salad. It was perfectly seasoned and dressed. The croutons are light and airy. For our main course we both ordered the boneless ribeye steaks with side dishes of asparagus, mushrooms and potatoes au gratin. The steaks were cooked to perfection and very tender with excellent taste. The only thing that we can comment in a negative light is that the potatoes had too much liquid. The wine list is quite extensive with a broad range of pricing. It was a wonderful evening we enjoyed immensely. We never felt rushed and had ample time to relax and savor the meal and wine. We will certainly be back to LG's Prime Steakhouse in the future. Great job to All!
Quite possibly the best filet I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked (medium), hot (plate is heated to 500 degrees our waiter told us and kept it hot the entire steak) and tender. Sides were generous for two people. Steamed asparagus was ok - however - what did we expect from steamed anything. Our waiter - Armando - was attentive without being intrusive. Finally GREAT wine list. Terrific experience. We were in from out of town and if ever there again, would definitely come back.
This was my second time there and, as usual, the service was amazing. The steak was tasty but, to be honest, the steak at the Palm Springs location has a rub that is not available here and that made a big difference as the rub was sensational. While I really like the restaurant, I would have to say that the dessert menu is not very inspired and could use some updating. But the salads are all excellent as is the French onion soup.
I have been going to LG's for over 12 years and the LaQuinta location since they opened. They even opened the roof for my wife and I. Never have I had a bad experience but... The other night my wife and I went to the LaQuinta location and we were seated in the backroom. Do not recall the waiters name but I not seen before. I ordered my usual Filet and my wife the Chicken (which is excellent by the way). Both meals were served on Appetizer plates! Chicken was hanger over the side of the plate. Ordered the cauliflower and received scalloped potatoes instead. We were starving so we started to eat anyways. Quite some delay for the typical waiter follow-up. When he finally showed and I indicted the incorrect side dish, it was "Oh". No offer to replace, take off the bill, etc. One additional comment about the size of the plates. We had two side dishes and using the same size for the entree we could not place on our main dish. Not sure what happened, but I hope it is not a trend.
