All four in our party enjoyed their meal very much, especially the steaks. The filet and prime rib were excellent, as was the sea bass. Prices are what one would expect for steaks of this quality.
We made our reservation to celebrate our 44th wedding invitation. We were greeted about our special day at the door, but never got any further recognition.
The food was good but our experience went down when the busboy cleared all our dishes and one of our take home plates with steak, potatoes and cauliflower. The take home plate slipped off the clearing tray and hit the floor and splattered on the Guests next to us. There was no response from management. The bus boy brought us a new potato but no steak or cauliflower. The floor was never cleaned and as we left our take home steak was still under the Guest table.
This along with the lack of follow through on our Anniversary was Very disappointing for such an expensive restaurant.
This is a beautiful restaurant and the service is absolutely exceptional
We were at the desert for the tennis tournament. We went there first evening. It is avery comfortable restaurant with lots of booths and large tables. Service was top-notch as well as the food. It is pricey, but the food is high-quality and delicious. My husband had the steak and vegetables on a skewer and a baby greens salad, and I had A wedge salad and for my entrée the shrimp scampi appetizer.
We come for the ceasar salad and dry aged meat.
We have never been disappointed
Lovely dinner with friends. Food and service were great!
Prime rib really had little flavor and wasn’t
tender. Filet was excellent and crab legs good.
first time there and we were impressed
definitely will go back
Our waiter, Victor, was very attentive and makes a “mean” table side Caesar salad! Our steaks were done perfectly to order. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Welcome to the area almost every year and have always included LG's in our itinerary. This year it was a big mistake. Had reservation for 6pm. Wasn't busy yet but they tried to seat us at a table that was next to the path to and from the kitchen only protected by a folding screen. We would be looking at walls. Tried for another table. Even though booths were available they said they were all reserved so they tried to put us in the backroom which had no guests in it. Eventually there would have been other people but we didn't want to start off sitting by ourselves in a large room. Finally sat us at a table in the main dining room which was OK. Got drinks which was ok. Started looking at the menu and found my copy had 2 pages that were the same and was missing the page with starters, etc.. Took 5 minutes to try and wave somebody down so I could get get a complete menu. Then 15 minutes to get our server to take our order since he was busy making caesar salad or another table. I had the oysters on the half shell which were very good but also were very small oysters. I think they could go for a larger size. Wife had the beet salad which was OK but not many beets. It does not come close to comparing with the beet salad at the Cork Tree restaurant. She ordered the Sea Bass which was very good and I ordered the small filet; rare to med rare. Steak came and was tender but it was medium well, no pink or red. Waiter had never come by to see how we were doing but we were able to flag down a manager and he saw the problem, took the steak and said it would be redone. After about 10 minutes another steak appeared and cutting into it did show that it appeared to be done properly. Of course my wife's fish dinner was cold by this time. The final straw was when I attempted to eat the properly cooked filet it looked good but was so tough I couldn't chew it. At this point my wife gave me some of her Sea Bass and that with the baked potato was dinner.
Food, service atmosphere all top notch!
We were very disappointed with everything except the service. We had the large filet ordered medium and when it was delivered the outside was well done and the center was blood red. The steak was VERY tough and we did not finish eating the meat. The kitchen obviously does not know how to cook their large filet medium. We ordered a wedge salad split and one serving had ALL the dressing, the other half was dry, no care or attention on this from the kitchen. We ordered cauliflower and it was served hard raw with a hot dressing, this of course we could not eat. Our desert was good but not exceptional.
We had planned on going to this Steak House for two years and was so disappointed we will not return.
The NOISE was Horrible, so loud we could not hear the person sitting right next to me.
My recommendation is to skip this steak house and go to Ruth!s or Morton’s.
As always, spectacular food and extraordinary service
He’s only one of the top 5 steaks I’ve ever had, and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. Service was excellent.
LG is a chop house in the motif of the 1970s--which is why our score rating is not higher. A chop house featuring prime cuts still has followers, but LGs is a bit off trend when it comes to presenting local, regional or foodie options in addition to traditional chop house themes. It also has a factory pace and ambience--it is possible to be seated at 7:00pm and to receive a check for $200 by 8:05pm. LGs servers are attentive but the focus is on turning tables not lingering. For example, side dishes do not appear to be cooked to order. The good news---LG s is a huge plus for lover's of the Caesar salad---made at tableside for two--very fresh ingredients---a spectacular channeling of what must have been the Tijuana Caesar experience of the 1920s. We would return just for the Caesar, a glass of wine and a few select sides---hold the chop house proteins.
The waiters are the best! This is first class service which is rare in the desert.
LG Steakhouse is an attractive space and this was our first visit. My wife’s steak was very good and properly cooked to her order. My prime rib was chewy and not as hot and moist as a great prime rib should be. The baked potato and bread was very good. However, the creamed spinach was almost cold when it arrived and tasted of just too much cream for my taste.
The service had high points and low points. The wine service and food delivery was very good with the exception noted on the temperature of the prime rib and spinach - but that could be in food prep. The rest of the service could have been improved.
I live a few miles from LG’s so I am a regular. It is always as good as a steakhouse can get. Superb.
Celebrating a big milestone.
exceptional steak house! Our favorite restaurant in palm desert.
Service and food were excellent as usual. The only slight issue was the knive.s they were not very sharp and everyone at the table was having issues with cutting the meats, didn't matter how it was cooked. would recomment replacing and/or sharpening them. Wasn't anything that we felt needed to address at the time but after speaking about it during post meal, a shaper knie would have improved the eperience.
Excellent food and most importantly outstanding service. Waiters were very friendly and helpful
Had a wide variety of dishes and everyone was happy
Wonderfully quiet booth late in the evening, made for a tasty and relaxing experience. Staff were excellent.
As always LG’s never disappoints!!!!!
Food, service, ambience always excellent!!!
As usual, everything about our dining experience at LG's La Quinta was outstanding. Caesar salad for two, made table side, was great. Wife had the petite filet; she orders medium well, so I won't comment on her steak. I had my favorite: 24 oz Porterhouse. Best steak in the house, maybe the best I've had anywhere. Perfectly done medium rare. Nice selection of sides, and a very approachable wine list. All in all, it's worth the drive from anywhere in the Coachella Valley.
Just okay. Nothing special so for the price I didn’t feel this was a good value. No need to go back.
Sadly the restaurant was so short staffed we waited over 30 minutes to get served after ordering dinner, then another twenty to get served a dessert, and more than 10 to finally get a bill to get out of the place. We had a Professional waiter who couldn’t get his help or the kitchen to pull through. Would not return and would not rave about any of the food except for a tasty (pricey) filet. average food, sub-par service, high price, nice atmosphere.
Excellent food, excellent service, all round delicious and pleasing dining experience
always a great time with Joe as your server! Service by the rest of the staff is spot on too. Steaks never disappoint. Tableside caesar is hard to beat!
We enjoyed our dinner!
Charred rare was more done that medium rare
This was our first time at LG’s after 5 years in the Valley. We don’t know why we waited so long to try it! We will definitely return. The food was excellent. Our server was ABSOLUTELY the best. And the ambience was so peaceful.
Absolutely perfect from being greeted at the door......table seating on time......best waiter ever (Tom), perfectly done steak.......HOT plates for hot food......tasty desert
oh, and the best part.....old fashioned Caesar Salad dressing made fresh at your table.
A wonderful evening for Valentines Day!
I ordered the Alaskan King Crab Legs and I expected just that. I was a little disappointed to see many smaller size legs than the large legs on my plate, that I am used to getting at other fine dinning/seafood restaurants. I should have stuck to your steaks, they are the best. The service was awesome. The sides are the best. I will be back sometime soon!
Too cool n windy on this night, but food was excellent!
Valentine’s Day dinner
As usual the food was exceptional and the service even better
We were there on Valentines Day. For the special day service was good, food was good, a bit overpriced, the house merlot, a very skinny poor as well was $13. Will consider LG's again for a special occasion.
LGS Steakhouse is by far, the most well-oiled machine among the hundreds of restaurants in our valley. On a very busy Valentines Day evening, there were NO parties waiting in the lobby to be seated for the 3 hours that we dined. Reservations are taken seriously and there’s never a back-up or delay. Filet mignon is always our choice of steak and it just melts in your mouth. A butter knife will slice right through it....(no back and forth sawing as we’ve had in another prime steakhouse in Palm Desert! And I won’t mention the over 45 minute wait we had there for our reservations made a month earlier. )
For prime meat, don’t miss a dinner at LGS.
