At Leyla, the fine dining experience is enhanced by the owners' hospitality and the friendliness of the staff.
Leyla's is my favorite restaurant! No trip to Charleston is complete without at least two meals here. The Lebanese meals are as good as it gets. Everything is fresh and homemade, even the ice cream and sweets.
Every member of the staff is well trained, knowledgeable about the food, and friendly. The restaurant has been honored as a family-friendly place to dine, even though the menu is upscale.
On this occasion, we ordered the LEYLA Royal Mezza Sampler, and it was spectacular! There were interesting items I would not have tried otherwise but will order again. We also shared the lamb chops that were deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. The home-made backlava ice cream is a culinary miracle. Needless to say, we went home with leftovers packaged by the staff.
Be certain to treat yourself to at least one meal at Leyla when visiting Charleston. If you live there, go as often as you can. The owners will treat you as family!
Fantastic in every way! Highly recommend.
Great central location.
Always delicious and the owners are so welcoming! Thank you to their son for his great service
We very much like Mediterranean food generally, but Dolly's personal recipes were excellent, and Dolly and Joseph were very gracious hosts (and we got lucky on an uncrowded winter weeknight(.
The bartender was excellent as well, making just the right cocktail for my wife with just a minimum of description from her on what she wanted.
The Lebanese food was some of the best mid eastern food we ever ate. Made me wish I could sample the entire menu..simply wonderful
Fantastic food, cocktails and service! There were so many options for vegetarians and all of the food was outstanding. Our kids loved the food too! The service was excellent.
Talk about an amazing gem! The owners are always there making sure their family recipes are executed perfectly. I wish we had found this place earlier on in our stay in Charleston so that we could have come back. Large portions. Incredible flavors and fresh ingredients!
We have been there several times, and we love the food but the service was horrible this time. Waiters were very sarcastic and not helpful with the menu. Food came cold. Drinks were changed around without us knowing. They were not accommodating at all.
Great food and great staff. Wonderful owners!
Awesome as always even though it was a limited "holiday" menu. Took a group of 8 and everyone raved.
Food was okay. Hummus was the best. But it was way overpriced.
We eat Mediterranean food regularly. This was the Biggest rip off. We were stunned. Over a $200 bill for 2 adults and 2 children. The portions are tiny. The food is ok at best. We are foodies and eat all over the world. This was mediocre and 3x the price of what it should have been. Example: a Shrimp kabob was $36 and not amazing at all. We live in South Florida and can choose any type of true fine dining and it is not this outrageous price for mediocrity. Go somewhere else.
Best Lebanese food I have had in a long time! Already looking forward to my next visit!
Great food! great service and ambience. Glad to find a Lebanese restaurant in Charleston, SC.
Everything was perfect. Food was delicious and the service was over the top fabulous. I believe our servers name was Shylea. He was splendid as was everyone else and everything.
Very nice - choice was based on limited availability at other nearby restaurants- Christmas Eve - but turned out to be great choice
Appetizers were cold. Service mediocre. Main courses decent. Would never eat there again.
Delicious lunch! Really enjoyed our server, who is Lebanese and chatted with my date about different ethnic dishes.
Wonderful Lebanese food, best lamb and baba I have had. Locally owned, conveniently located on King Street.
Very disappointed. The food was not nearly as good as it was the last time I ate there. I brought friends from out of town and was embarrassed.
Food was amazing and the lovely owner came by to say hello.
Great find. Cancelled our other reservations just to try it, so worth it!
I’ll be back for sure!
We visited charleston and found this lovely place to eat. The menu has variety and everything we tried on it was delicious. We liked it so much we went back again 2 days later to get more delicious food before we left the city. They’re very attentive too.
Leyla is our favorite restaurant in Charleston. The Lebanese food is totally authentic and very healthy! Friendly staff, great craft cocktails, and all our favorites. Best baba anywhere. We go every time we are in Charleston. Can't wait to return.
Six friends met at Leyla's for a birthday lunch. We asked for special treatment with our bill so that five could split the cost of the birthday person. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating with all our special requests. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and professional. Our experience was excellent. Excellent food.
Food is very good, just way overpriced. Service is great. Inside is ok...not bad but not the nicest looking restaurant either. They just need to come down on their prices.
Our favorite place to eat in Charleston!
Excellent food. Do try the desserts.
Awesome experience service and food impeccable! Highly recommend
Staff was very welcoming and service was excellent. Food is fantastic! We love this place and will go back next time we’re in Charleston.
Food was very good . The staff is very attentive. They even addressed me by name as we were leaving
Wonderful service great food
A perfect evening
It was my girlfriends birthday and I made sure to address this ahead of time so I expected them to have something special like a piece of cake or at least something small. But nothing. And the food was good not great. Expensive so I expected more. The restaurant is nice inside and people were friendly.
Fresh and delicious! Lovely and courteous..
Delicious and beautifully presented.
Food was outstanding and very attentive service. The lamb was some of the best I have had, surprised this place was not busier but I know I can always sneak in for an amazing meal.
Remains one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. A wonderful, family-owned restaurant with authentic Lebanese food. It always feels like they have invited you into their home to enjoy their food and traditions.
Incredible food and staff. They were willing to make us a specialty bread on the spot and suggested amazing dishes. We will be coming back and will refer people visiting Charleston to eat here. Everything was delicious!
The food was out of this world amazing, everything was so fresh and clearly
Made in house with special care! We love Leyla and can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend the set price menu as you get to taste lots of items and the White coffee and baklava ice cream
Is an after dinner must!!!
Enjoyable. Fine Lebanese food.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The food was pretty good although my falafel was on the dry side. The shots were as much as a full drink 12.50. The fact they were unable to break up a bill of a large party was disappointing after being charged 20% gratuity . I would not dine there with a large party unless one person is going to foot the 700 bill!
