Awesome experience service and food impeccable! Highly recommend
Staff was very welcoming and service was excellent. Food is fantastic! We love this place and will go back next time we’re in Charleston.
Food was very good . The staff is very attentive. They even addressed me by name as we were leaving
Wonderful service great food
A perfect evening
It was my girlfriends birthday and I made sure to address this ahead of time so I expected them to have something special like a piece of cake or at least something small. But nothing. And the food was good not great. Expensive so I expected more. The restaurant is nice inside and people were friendly.
Fresh and delicious! Lovely and courteous..
Delicious and beautifully presented.
Food was outstanding and very attentive service. The lamb was some of the best I have had, surprised this place was not busier but I know I can always sneak in for an amazing meal.
Remains one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. A wonderful, family-owned restaurant with authentic Lebanese food. It always feels like they have invited you into their home to enjoy their food and traditions.
Incredible food and staff. They were willing to make us a specialty bread on the spot and suggested amazing dishes. We will be coming back and will refer people visiting Charleston to eat here. Everything was delicious!
The food was out of this world amazing, everything was so fresh and clearly
Made in house with special care! We love Leyla and can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend the set price menu as you get to taste lots of items and the White coffee and baklava ice cream
Is an after dinner must!!!
Enjoyable. Fine Lebanese food.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The food was pretty good although my falafel was on the dry side. The shots were as much as a full drink 12.50. The fact they were unable to break up a bill of a large party was disappointing after being charged 20% gratuity . I would not dine there with a large party unless one person is going to foot the 700 bill!
Love to eat at Leyla whenever we are in Charleston. We are always warmly welcomed back and and the food is amazing. It’s location is perfect because it affords us an area in the city where we have convenient parking and many shops to visit before dinner. We highly recommend Leyla.
We love the family that owns this restaurant and everything about it!
The flavors are incredible. Lots of excellent vegetarian and vegan options, too. Excellent service and excellent food. We can't wait to go back!
Food and service everything was phenomenal,
Leyla and the entire team was so welcome - my parents went twice while we were in town! Looking forward to visiting again
Way overpriced. Food just so so. Only one kind of beer offered.
We had the vegetarian platter and the mosakka plate -it was absolutely incredible. Been in business for 6 years-that’s suppose to b a long time for Charleston standards. The place is a real jewel!!
We loved every second of our visit and every bite of our meal. Cannot recommend more highly!!
Okay food and smallish portions that is way overpriced. Staff/owners were having conversations right next to us which took away from any ambiance. Falafel was okay and didn’t taste freshly made. Hummus, babahanoush and taboulleh were good but for price, skimpy serving size. Chicken shawarma was served with a mayo garlic sauce smeared on top inside thin pita which I found a little weird. Kibbeh served with rice was okay but small portion for price. The bread pudding with baklava ice cream was nice.
For $150 we would have expected more?
Leyla was amazing and we will be back soon
Always just fabulous !!
We are long time customers at Leyla but I’m not sure we will return. The food was ok but sparse. We ran out of bread 6 times. It was only replenished when asked. One half of our party had the sampler platters with meat. It was served with a small single piece sample of each item for each person. And most lacked flavor and were very dry. Not at all what we expect from this restaurant. With all the other choices available downtown Charleston, I doubt we’ll return to Leyla.
Good Lebanese food. Worth a try. The deserts are fantastic, try the baklava ice cream, it is killer
As always the food was great, and the service was great. This is the only place in Charleston for authentic Lebanese cooking, and they do it wonderfully!! I highly recommend it.
We were hoping for good food due to reviews. We were very disappointed. Appetizers were dry and unappealing to look at(falafel and samosas). Chicken kebabs were cooked well but no flavor. We were told to put the garlic paste on them... cold white Vaseline looking stuff. The only person smiling and interacting with us was the guy clearing the tables. A guy that looked like he manages the restaurant asked us quick questions and left. Expensive?? Ridiculously so. We have no problem paying for good food but this was terrible. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items since they do get good reviews. Also, the lady that runs the place was out of town. My son is a local in Chuck and told me he has never heard anyone rave about the place. Plenty of other great places to eat in Chuck.
I'm a big fan of Leyla's and so happy that there is a Lebanese restaurant in Charleston serving authentic, delicious Middle Eastern food. It's always good and they have the best humus anywhere including Israel where I've always felt had the best humus until I tasted Leyla's. I will say, their pita is very disappointing. It's not fluffy and not typical of any Middle Eastern restaurant I've been to. But everything else from salads to the lentil soup to entrees are so tasty and fresh. I just tried the artichoke with garlic lemon sauce and it was amazing. Came back a second time and had it again. I tried making it but couldn't come close. It's a pleasant atmosphere and we always get excellent service. I'm so thankful they are in Charleston.
Good selection of traditional Lebanese dishes. Would recommend more Charlestonians try Leyla's!
The food is fantastic. It has a wide variety of flavors. The owner and his staff are fantastic. The owners spent a lot of time with us talking about his country and his heritage and history, which was very informative to us. We would be happy to eat there again.
The food was good and we had good service. I felt it was a bit expensive for lunch.
The food and the service were outstanding!!! We highly recommend Leyla!!
Awesome original Lebanese food excellently prepared. Great service and explanation of menu options.
I lived in Arab countries for years, visited Turkey many times.
Leyla’s food is superb. The staff is very kind and ready to assist. The owners are present, they both are warm, welcoming, classy.
When in Charleston and looking for leaving the beaten paths at a convenient location (King street in the very center), do enjoy Leyla.
Very good service. Very good food. Very good cocktails. We will be back for sure.
Welcoming, warm, delicious food, expansive menu. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Charleston!
I’ve been going here for years and it’s always a treat. Amazing food and great service. I recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal to go to Leyla.
Lebanese food is not hard to find; really good Lebanese food is. Leyla is really good. Everything was so fresh it could have walked off the plate. Tabouleh — not an exotic dish, but one by which you can measure a restaurant’s temperament — had ingedients so fresh they could have walked off the plate, just the right amount and blend of spices, and wonderful background lemoniness. Lentil salad was truly a treat. Everyone knows lentils are good for you; if everyone prepared them in a way that made them tender but not mushy, blended with tastes so complex I can’t describe them — lentils would become the world’s most popular food. Whole Bronzina was perfectly cooked, flaky and light brown on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, and easy to peel off the skeleton. Friends’ lamb and chicken entrees were also exceptional. Dessert — a round wheat/honey/nut cake [not baklava] whose name I can’t remember, sadly, was a terrific blend of sweet and neutral — just wonderful. Service was excellent — knowledgeable, attentive without being hovering, prompt without making us feel rushed. I plan to revisit Leyla again as soon as opportunity presents.
It's always a great experience at Leyla's! The food is great and the service is always wonderful!
