What a great place, great Middle eastern food. The hummus and the Babbaganush where out of this workd. The service was awesome
Fantastic!! High quality, very authentic. Flavorful. Wonderful service—attentive but not intrusive. Ask for the Lavender Martini 🤤. Try all the deserts.
Servers were very kind and attentive. Food prices increased with unprofessional handwritten edits on the menu. Food was very under quality for the price. I’ve been to over 130 restaurants in Charleston, mostly locally owned, and unfortunately this is one of the worst food quality to price ratios. This restaurant has lots of potential to be a Mediterranean hotspot if food value fixed.
We have eaten Lebanese food for years, this is almost some of the best we have ever had! Highly recommend!
Leyla always serves authentic, vibrant, delicious 5 star cuisine and excellent service!
Excellent as usual. Food perfect, service impeccable ambience nice with appropriate masking.
The food tasted amazing and was so fresh, they had a ton of vegan options too!! They were very on top of cleaning every table after each guest and all of the servers and staff were wearing masks. The owners checked in with each table personally to make sure every need was taken care of. Really great evening.
The food was amazing! I would give this place a 5 star rating!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Excellent food and desserts.
Not your typical Mediterranean food. Super high quality, delicious, complex flavors. You can tell its a chef who cares, not line cooks slapping things together.
Excellent service. We had one of the tasting meals with a nice bottle of Lebanese wine. The chicken was our favorite meat ( especially with the white garlic sauce). The ground beef kabob was a bit chewy, but the beef tenderloin was excellent. The fava beans, hummus and baba ganouj were really good. I was a bit disappointed with the pita, it seemed to be store bought and warmed up. I love fresh made pita when it’s made in a brick oven and brought out piping hot and still puffed up, but that was the only real disappointment. We will be back.
Apps were very good. Service was excellent. Main dishes were meh for the money. Very expensive
Overpriced street gyro. There was nothing really “fine” about this food. I paid $38 for a gyro. Many llates on menu were also not available. The only positive thing was that it was open MDW.
Absolutely love this family-run business! Such an amazing experience. Will be back again!!!
Yes the Houmus is delicious but to say portions are small is an understatement. Small bowls not even 1/2 filled for $11??? Same went for the other tapas type spreads we ordered. Barely a taste for 1 person.
Shawarma chicken was very dry,, not authentic at all. ..portions inconsistent, didn’t taste good. Salmon was not appetizing.
On the bright side the Baklava dessert was good.
One of the best restaurants in Charleston. The food, atmosphere and customer service are outstanding.
Food was good, but over priced
The food was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful in making selections!
I am Lebanese and I love my dad’s Mezza. However, Layla’s surpassed it. My wife the Canadian raves about the babaghanouj and the tabbouleh and I love the grilled Kafka. The owner is very friendly and makes us like we are part of the family. All in all excellent experience and lots of fun with friends and family.
Everything we had was delicious. The eggplant mousaka and the Meghli dessert were especially unique and wonderful. Staff was friendly and attentive
Wonderful service & food
Amazing lebanese food!
Amazing presentation quality.
Service was only exceeded by the quality of the food. Authentic recipes prepared onsite with great ingredients.
Very nice dinner. They were extremely accommodating to our vegan diet. Checked in several times to see if all was ok. Highly recommend
Hummus was amazing, but very light on the Pita bread. The fatoosh salad with the lemon and olive oil dressing was the best I ever had. My husband had the chicken kebab which was very good, my lamb kebab was underwhelming. Disappointing the staff didn’t acknowledge our wedding anniversary despite my putting it on my open table reservation. I would go back for the hummus!
We ordered the $50 sampler.
Pistachio Baklava which was just the right amount of sweetness (as in not too sweet)
Great service. Not rushed at all.
Owner comes from kitchen to greet you.
Amazing!! Very authentic and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Pricing is high but somewhat understandable from the restaurants location.
Wonderful place with outstanding food. The owners are there to help you pick out foods you may not have tried and they are amazing. We just happened to go here and fell in love with it. Date night or family dinner.
We were disappointed with our experience. We were visiting Charleston and reserved the restaurant after we saw great reviews online. We received affirmations from our hotel concierge and our tour guides as well. We are regular consumers of Mediterranean cuisine so we were excited to try this place.
When we got there, they presented us with a trimmed down menu because they ran out of much of their regular items! Ok fine; my wife asked if they could make her a falafel..She was given 4 flat tasteless cold falafel balls in a saucer with a teaspoon of white sauce under the balls. You can buy better frozen falafel balls from Trader Joe’s. They served no salad, no hot sauce, no tahini nothing. My wife asked the waiter for some tahini or hot sauce. To our surprise, thy charged $4 for sauce!!! (They claim every big restaurant does it). Not true. This seldom happens in NYC.
Also, the waitress was clueless about your menu. She had no idea what was in your main dishes. Overall, up to you if you want to try it. Not really authentic.
Loved the food and ambience of the restaurant. Had a great time.
The food was excellent, and the Pinot Noir was tasty. The cook needs to learn how to properly prepare lamb chops; doesn't do it correctly although the servers tried to make it right. It was a busy night but nonetheless not properly done. We will definitely return to enjoy a deferent dish. GM II
Had to wait 30 minutes for our reservation (it was for 8:30, we got there early at 8 and didn't get seated until 9). Took another 15 minutes to order drinks, then took another 15 to get them. It's 9:30 at this point. They did not advertised that they had a fixed menu for Valentine's Day, and while most fixed menus are some sort of discounted options for special occasions this menu was full price. This was not a big deal after we realized that it was too late to go anywhere else at this point - we should have just gone home and made a pizza it would have been more worth it. We order each course, get our appetizer, then wait 45 minutes before I have to stop a waiter and ask where our entree was. He comes running out of the kitchen to tell me it'll be ready in a few minutes, meaning he didn't put the order in to begin with. We watched another couple that got seated at the same time as us finish their entire meal before we even got our entree. Being a fixed menu, there were only 2-4 options for each course. Should not have taken that long to get our food. We got our entree and it was great but it was close to 10:30 at this point. The waiter gave me a shot for consolation, not really my thing but thanks for the gesture. We got dessert and a $160 check for 2 drinks, 1 app, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. The food was good, but not worth the prices at all. I've had middle eastern food trucks that were better. They then blamed the long wait on their internet, but seeing as everyone else in the restaurant was being served without much issue I'm not sure that was true. I watched the guy beside us that got seated right after us send back about 3 full orders of lamb shanks and end up eating about 2 of those orders before we got any food at all. For the price and the lack of customer service, we will not be going back. A shame since I am Lebanese and loved this restaurant the first time I went. Might as well slap a Tzaziki's sign over it.
They forgot 1/2 of our order then accused us of not ordering properly. The Hummus and eggplant were Devine! Then they forgot our salad. The yogurt sauce, that I thought might add some moisture to the incredibly dry chicken kabob (over priced as well) came after we were done. The beef had a terrible texture and came with the wrong side. So to make it up to us they bought us a drink which they charged us for. After I lost my mind they fixed our bill. Very aggravating and expensive Valentines dinner for sure.
Service wasn’t good
The limited Valentine’s Day menu was a large drop from the traditional, everyday experience. Have been to this restaurant, and will gladly go again, but this was not my favorite experience
The food was great and the service was amazing. I enjoyed every portion of my 3-course meal. I will be back indeed.
Great service and wonderful fold
Great menu, tons of options, authentic food ...with absolutely top shelf service from every member of the team. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and every team member stopped by to take care of us. The owner is lovely, interesting, and absolutely charming and fun to talk with.
Highly highly recommend! We will definitely be back..
It was good food certainly. However the prices are about $10 more then you’d want to pay for just about everything.
We had a wonderful meal at Leyla’s with friends who had never been! We all loved the friendly atmosphere on a cold, rainy night, and as always, the food was wonderful! When we come to Leyla’s we always have dessert whether we saved room for dessert or not! Three of us “devoured” our Osmalieh, and our friend finished his similar wonderful selection! We will all return together or e separately, I’m sure!
