Lexx Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The visit did not start off well because our 6:15 Open Table reservation was not honored until we finally sat down at 7pm. Although we enjoyed a drink at the bar, what was the point of making a reservation? Then things greatly improved. The food was delicious and timely. Our server, Kelly, was excellent. At the end of our meal, the hostess visited our table to apologized for our delayed seating and gave us a $25 gift certificate which we used that night. We appreciated this kindness and felt better about the visit.
Pretty disappointing business lunch. Service started string but then tapered off after other customers came in. Special of the day was a Chicken Fra Diavolo with Pasta that sounded great. When it came I had to spend a long time picking an entire red onion out of the sauce. Never saw a Fra Diavolo sauce so heavily laden with onions like that. It was tasty but lost its appeal. The bar looked cool. Might give it a try in the evening.
The table at the farthest back left next to the window is directly under an A/C vent.
We put our winter coats back on after asking twice for it to be turned down;
A server came to us with some other table's meals and then took them away;
Our meals came but had to be eaten quickly because of the cold air blowing down over them; when server was removing the used dishes instead of stacking them she tried to pick them up all at once and dropped the used knife into my lap. Because I had my coat on it was a non issue fortunately.
Six friends get together for dinner monthly and like to try new restaurants. We had never been to Lexx but it was suggested by a friend. Service was great, food and drinks were very good. Not a huge menu, but something for just about everyone. Prices were moderate. We all enjoyed it very much.
Good cocktail selection and good though limited beer selection. Mussels were great; entrees very good though portions were too large. Service was prompt. We sat in the lounge area (high top tables) and it was a bit noisy-- we'll ask to sit in the main dining room next time.
I eat lunch here regularly and dinner every month or so. The food is good and the prices usually are appropriate. This particular meal was not especially memorable, however, mainly due to our server. She did a very nice job of describing the specials (although they seemed over-priced), but her performance declined rapidly after that. She offered me a thimble-equivalent for tasting the wine, and then over-filled our wine glasses. She then ignored us for most of the evening (I twice needed to ask someone to fine her). Finally, following my request, she neglected to add the dining points to my account. Not good.
Lexx has become a regular go-to for us even though we live a couple of towns over. Food is always great and the environment is casual/relaxed. Everyone (party of 4) enjoyed their meals with the Pork Osso Bucco and Moroccan Stew being stand outs. Staff is friendly and attentive and wine/spririts list is solid.
The mussels were delicious and the champagne dressing on my salad was very tasty. My friends took the beef carpaccio and the hummus plate as starters: fresh ingredients, generous portions, they loved their dishes. I personnally did not like the settings (we were sitting in a booth) that I found old-fashioned for such a creative and fresh cuisine.
My experience was so-so. We came because my friend saw something on their online menu only to find out it wasn't available because they hadn't updated their website in over a year and half our server told us. Aside from that the menu was good but the service scattered. Dinners came quick, but drinks not so much. We were also handed dessert menus but no one came back to ask if we wanted dessert. By the time she did (about 25 min later) we talked ourselves out of it and the server didn't seem to notice that we had been handed dessert menus.
People were nice, but there was an evident lack of communication. I prob wouldn't go back. Ambiance is nice, though.
Food and beer options excellent, but most important was the service: from the moment we walked in (short stop at bar while waiting for friends), the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our waitress really knew the menu, gave us great tips, specific recommendations. Cocktails were awesome as well, even though their beer list outshines everything! Will definitely be back!
Had a lovely dinner outside with friends. Ordered Jambalaya, which was tasty and well prepared. Outside dining is a rare privilege in the east. It was nice that the seating area is set well back from the street, reducing car noise and exhaust. Nice friendly service.
I have been to Lexx many times. This time the dish I got was too bland. Both of us ordered the Pasta Primavera and we both thought it needed something, too bland. We got fresh pepper and asked for shaved cheese to help liven it up. This is the first time I've been disappointed so I'll try again and I'd still recommend to friends.
We needed to find a restaurant in Lexington that served brunch. Based on the online reviews I chose Lexx. The service was extremely slow. The food was terrible. Two of our party ordered their bacon crispy. It was burnt. Ditto the French toast. My quiche was the worst I've ever had; overcooked and too eggy. The vegetable soup with faro resembled institutional or cafeteria food; it had way too much cornstarch and was a very unappealing color. Decor is mediocre and sound level is high. Would not recommend and will not return.
