The Boston Globe said of Lexx: “Wholesome food is the concept of this resolutely American menu, Lexx does classics right. It’s what you want in a neighborhood place, A friendly greeting, good food and a sense of belonging…dining virtuously and well.”
Four of us went out for an early dinner on a quiet Monday evening for my wife's birthday. I called ahead and requested a low fat desert with a candle on it. The chef made a special pear tart that was delicious and beautiful. After out meal he cane out and wished Carol a happy birthday. The conversation was worm and stimulating and everyone enjoyed there food. We even found parking on the street near the restaurant. Lexx is a great place to go for a relaxed interesting and healthy meal.
We're going to miss Lexx when it closes! The menu and food is certainly some of the best in town, and the primary reason we come here. I love good Indian food, and i understand that's what will be taking over the space, but we do already have a great Indian Restaurant in town, and Lexx is really special!
We had a delightful brunch at Lexx on Sunday! Food was terrific and we weren't rushed at all.
We enjoyed our meal(s) at Lexx. Waitress was very helpful with explaining specials and wine selection. Noise level was louder than normal. We were seated near a table or younger patrons. They were very nice and enjoying themselves.
Only issue was that soup of day was rather bland, a potato/ leek recipe that was very bland. However, Salmon entree and jambalaya were excellent. The carrot cake was excellent!
My picky MIL loved it. There's no higher praise than that.
Great service, wonderful food, menu perfect for the vegetarian and the meal eater in our group.
Did not have my reservation when I arrived. I had email and text confirmation. Host was rude and unapologetic. Food was fair. Disappointing since I was taking my elderly mother out for special dinner.
I recently met a group of friend for lunch at Lexx. They choice of foods and quality were excellent. Our server did very nice job of waiting on us. He was very attentive to us, filling water glasses and delivering with care.
Thank you, Lexx
Jambalaya was not as "hot" as described and not particularly tasty, and Moroccan stew was rather bland. The hummus appetizer was superb, and the flourless chocolate cake excellent.
Place is lovely and the food was really great. The waitstaff was very polite, but our server forgot our appetizer. We had trouble locating her, and even after asking two other waitstaff, were never given the appetizer. We didn't have to pay for it, but they did not seem very bothered about this. Would go back, but will try other restaurants in the area first.
My wife and I recently tried this restaurant for the first time. We had a very good experience. The menu and wine list are rather limited but offer a sufficient number of varied choices. We both enjoyed the pork osso buco, which appears to be specialty of the restaurant and a local favorite. The portions are large. The service was good in spite of the restaurant being quite busy. We were in the area for a concert that night and would definitely dine here again when in the area. The value is quite good for the high quality of the food, service, and ambiance.
This is a popular place to eat for lunch or dinner for local people.
Its nice to have a trained waitress who re3ally seems to know what she is doing. Very pleasant and professional. I got the salmon and it was outstanding.
We had a tight timeline and made the team aware with our reservation. The wait staff was excellent and very mindful of our time constraints. They were in a word excellent!
This is a half way point for my family and I so we usually meet here for dinner. The dinner is always good and cooked well. My only complaint is that they recently changed the menu and took things off that I typically order when I’m there. 1 was the goat cheese salad and the other was roasted Brussels sprouts. Obviously not a big deal (plenty of other good choices) but I was sad to see those both go. Overall, very nice restaurant in Lexington center.
Everyone at Lexx was friendly, professional, and helpful. We both ordered the mussels as our main, and they were lovely. Good broth, cooked perfectly, all around tasty. Our wines were also great complements to the meal. The Caesar salad left a lot to be desired. It was....wilty, not fresh, bland. I devour salad, and did so with this one, but it just wasn't particularly good.
No wait due to having reservations. Nice menu; good choices without being overwhelming in number. Service was slow (about 20 minutes between ordering and service) . Food presentation was excellent. One person in our party needed gluten free and although there were “gf” choices on the menu, they did not have gluten free bread for any of the sandwich/burger choices or appetizer bread. This would be an easy fix for the restaurant .....
Jacob was our server. He was new, but very attentive.
Great Jambalaya, fresh salmon, and wonderful wait staff. Across the street from Cary Hall.
Lexx is a GREAT place to celebrate a birthday. Food is delicious, service is good. I recommend Lexx Restaurant.
Although the nice young host confirmed our Open Table reservation upon our arrival a few minutes in advance of our reservation time, we were told that " it was a busy night and they ran out of tables". He suggested that we sit at the bar which was understaffed and a long wait to place order. By the time food arrived, burger and sides lukewarm and overcooked.
One of our favorite restaurants! Choices for the vegetarians and omnivores. Upscale, warm ambiance, plenty of seating and patio during the warmer months. My favorites are the Mediteranian Stew and the hummus platter.
Great restaurant in Lexington to enjoy a nice meal before a show at Cary Memorial.
Always a treat dining at Lexx.
Our meal was good, nothing great or terrible. But the service was mediocre. They ran out of the wine we ordered, then made a big deal of opening the wine at the table which took a long time and was distracting to our conversation. When it was time for dessert the server didn't bring us dessert menus, just a check and gave us the impression they wanted to go home. Thankfully they didn't pull out the vacuum but at 9:15 PM we definitely felt we were unwelcome guests.
Excellent, friendly server
Oh, how I want to love Lexx but it just isn’t making the grade. Ambiance and service are okay. My main complaint is the food...unless you want a burger nothing on the menu is worth mentioning. My entree was accompanied by a latke which was NOT freshly cooked and tasted like it had been lingering in the fridge far too long. One of our party had the Moroccan vegetable stew and found it lacked flavor and described it as bland and uninteresting.
I have been to this restaurant off and on since it first opened years ago. The menu has been basically the same for the last four or five years. Please hire a new chef and change up the menu! Your competitor at Via Logo is outdistancing you and that’s too bad. Lexington has room for several good restaurants, please get it together.
Waitress was cool, food tasted great, booths were comfy, however portions were a little small usually when I go out to eat I like to bring home second half but their bolognese barely satisfied me
The initial seating was problematic. We were seated in a booth that was very cramped. Neither of us are large people; my friend is actually smaller than average. When we asked to be moved, we were able to sit at a table that was fine. There was a large group nearby; when they left the noise level was also fine.
This was my second visit to Lexx and I would recommend it with the caution that you should speak up if things aren't okay.
Excellent service, good meals and drinks all around. Nice central location for us with public parking within a block or two.
It was a nice experience on Saturday. Nice high top table near the window, with lots of sunshine streaming in and a very cheerful waittress! The good was delicious! Can't wait to go there again.
The service was very slow
When I told the waiter I was dairy free, he was rude!
Server was very attentive, food was excellent. Had gluten free items which was appreciated.
There was a very limited menu and our waitress abandoned us for so long we gave up on ordering dessert.
Great food. Beef carpaccio was so good. Steak tips delicious.
Had Moroccan stew with shrimp and wine. The meal was very good.
As first time diners at Lexx we were surprised that we hadn’t eaten here sooner. The food and service was exceptional!!
Highly recommend Lexx and the menu from start to finish!
As always, the right choice. Interesting menu; food well prepared and presented. The back room is usually quieter than the main dining room during peak times. Up y
Convenient, service was excellent, food was so-so. The Moroccan stew was hearty, but not seasoned much. Veggie burger tasted like one from a package of frozen ones at nearly the same price as a burger.
I have been to Lexx several times in the last year. I really like the citrus roasted chicken - very tender and juicy. This time it was slightly less tender than usual but still good. This restaurant uses alot of rosemary. The bread is served with herb butter with rosemary in it, the chicken is rubbed with it under the skin, and the fried hash potatoes I ordered was great - crispy crunchy really thin strings of potato - but a bit too heavily flavored with rosemary as well. The honey beets were as good as usual. We had the profiteroles for dessert...they were the best profiteroles I have ever had in my life! The only thing I would say is that they do not have an extensive menu and it does not change much. Also portions are not very big. That being said the quality of the food is usually very good.
