Lexington Brass Ratings and Reviews
We had Sunday brunch and it was lovely. Great ambiance, tables are reasonable distance so not on top of one another, great server, good food, wonderful wines and they really left the four of us ladies sit and chat for a while after we finished. Would recommend.
Food was great, but service was awful. Took over an hour for our food to come out. Seems like they were under staffed that night in the kitchen as well as waiters/waitresses. The bus boys, however, were diligent and friendly.
Husband and I invited our parents for dinner in NYC. We choose Lexington Brass because of the extensive menu and wide variety of dietary restrictions within our group. The restaurant was fairly crowded when we arrive for our 5:30 reservation- a sign we took as a positive! It took very long for a server to approach our table, longer for drinks to arrive, and almost two hours had passed before we were brought our dinners. Although the food was tasty, we were severely disappointed in the slow service and will not return, nor recommend, Lexington Brass.
This was our first time visiting on the weekend for brunch. The menu has many good choices. The salmon platter is huge with a bagel that could fill a horse. All very good though....as usual. Lex Brass is consistently good in service and in food. One of my favorites.
We've been coming to Lexington Brass for years and always have a lovely meal. We used to recommend this restaurant to lots of friends! However, we were sorely disappointed on this visit. The food barely had flavor. Some of the items were scalding hot -- as if they'd just been removed from a microwave. The waiters never refilled our coffee or water cups the entire meal. Really bummed - this place used to be so good!
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal here. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the bar populated with interesting locals and the mood was festive but chill, a winning combination. If you're in town and want a smart meal at a friendly haunt, skip the tourist traps and make your way over to this (posh) neighborhood gem!
I booked this place because of location only. I needed something for a business breakfast on the east side. The service was slow and the food was just OK. There should also be a more convenient access to a rest room. The restaurant is in a hotel and you need to use the hotel's restroom which is two levels down.
I made a 1pm reservation. I arrived 10 minutes early and was told repeatedly that our table was not ready because guests were lingering.
I would like to make a suggestion that you don't take reservations for this reason.
Unless you are willing to commit to a customer the time they have requested and you are saying you take reservations, it was really ridiculous for me and my two colleagues to be waiting for 15 minutes for a table that was reserved.
We've gone there many times. The food is good, nice and bright atmosphere, and best of all they don't rush you to leave. Wonderful to meet friends and be able to sit for a while. Had one bad experience with poor service and the management gave me a discount coupon--very thoughtful and of course, assured we'd come back. highly recommend it.
Lexington Brass seems more like a place to gather after work for a bite to eat. Loud and busy.
There are very limited vegan options on the menu. On the night we were there for dinner at 6:00 pm, the kitchen was out of brussels sprouts but offered broccoli sautéed in olive oil instead. The broccoli was overloaded with garlic. The veggie burger was simply ok. Service was quick (5 minutes after we ordered the food arrived).
The food was outstanding as was the service. The decor was minimal and perfect. I found the staff to be gracious and attentive. This is a place I will go to again and again. There are many restaurants to chose from in NYC as you all know but this place should be tried by all who seek a creative menu and even better cocktails. PS the sweet potato quinona burger is to die for!!!
The food was very good but the service was horrible. Waiter was not attentive at all and this was during an off peak hour. I will not go back for breakfast if this is how the service is. Lunch has always been good even when it is super busy. Horrible experience, and it has really changed my opinion of Lexington Brass.
